Chapter 451: Three Against One

~6 min read 1,093 words

Borden stared for a moment.

Then he stepped back several paces, letting Virgil stand in front of him.

"Where did you drag this monster from? A half-deer man, an 【Hero】?"

"Stop wasting words—kill him!"

Virgil's voice was dull and heavy, just like those fools who never learned to speak.

Borden frowned at him.

Seeing his eyes clouded, pupils flattened and stretched into goat-like horizontal slits, he shook his head.

The half-elf forcibly replaced his plague-corrupted body parts with 【Biological Weaving】, but he couldn't replace his head—it was already muddled and confused, and now, seeing his enemy, it was worse than ever.

"Good, good—I made a contract with you. Even if your brain's broken, you still owe me."

As he spoke,

Virgil charged forward again, smashing straight into the man with brute force.

Each punch sent shockwaves exploding through the air.

Spiritual pressure spread layer by layer across the cliffside clearing; the private soldiers behind were useless, unable to intervene at all.

Just as Cambion Borden moved to assist, he noticed a private soldier approaching from behind.

The man removed his hat, and his magical camouflage vanished with it.

He was an elderly human, over sixty.

His hair and eyebrows were completely white; his sunken eyes glinted cold and steady, like machinery.

In his hand was a broken steel sword, its hilt sprouting green vines that wrapped and rooted into his palm, pulsing like veins.

A faint reddish current slowly sank down his gaunt arm, flowing like tassels around the broken blade and hilt.

Then it solidified into blood-red, hardened matter, flowing along the blade's fracture to reshape a complete longsword.

The next instant,

the crimson energy surged violently upward!

Old Ed's aura climbed steadily—from mid-7th Rank to high-7th, then to peak!

Boom!

He shattered the ground beneath him, his blood-red longsword blazing with the 【Nine Flash】 spiritual technique, lunging straight at Luo De.

He was instantly swept away by the tyrannical greatsword.

But he didn't relent—his body wrapped in crimson energy, his defense surged, and he didn't die from a single blow.

He rushed forward again, unleashing another 【Nine Flash】!

Watching the two fight desperately,

Cambion Borden smirked, slightly annoyed:

"Fuck, we've got so many enemies we're fighting three-on-one."

But despite saying that, unlike certain hellish creatures, he was the type who honored contracts.

Puff—

His jet-black bat wings unfurled behind him, scarred by magical strikes and sword cuts, yet still functional for flight.

With three quick flaps, he rose into the air, re-forming his 【Flame Ray】 in hand, joining the raging storm of airwaves and crimson energy.

In the shadows,

"Miss Tally, aren't you going to help Mr. Luo De?"

Wenna gripped her hands tightly, unconsciously reddening her palms from the pressure.

The fierce four-way battle had swept from the cliff near Jianwan Sea southward into the Roaring Forest.

Then, after smashing through a patch of trees, Mr. Luo De suddenly unleashed his full power—his door-sized greatsword swept each opponent away in one blow.

The battlefield, trailing thick smoke and dust, suddenly swung from south to north.

It crossed the Lizard Marsh, its shockwaves shattering several lizardfolk encampments.

It then smashed straight through the brick road of the Trade Highway.

After that, it crossed the Delinbil River north of Axe Beach, all the way to the Adip Forest south of Deepwater City.

The four were locked in a brutal, evenly matched fight.

But three versus one inevitably made Wenna anxious.

"Miss Tally?"

The succubus beside her, who had been watching silently, gave no reply. Wenna called again.

Still no answer.

She turned her head—and froze.

There sat the succubus, squatting on the ground, face flushed, her right hand slipped beneath her skirt, doing something unknown.

"What are you doing?! Mr. Luo De is in a life-or-death battle!"

"Life-or-death battle? Heh—he hasn't even used his full strength yet! That sword of his was so cool—I need to see it again!"

"Hey!"

"Why are you so tense? Who's your master, anyway?"

"I—I'm worried Mr. Luo De won't take me to Deepwater City!"

Tally glanced at her, noticing how shy and fidgety the girl was.

She mimicked her master's raised eyebrow: "Miss, let me remind you—our master doesn't like humans. You know that, right?"

But Wenna didn't deny it—she blinked her pale blue eyes.

She muttered stubbornly: "Not necessarily."

"It's obvious. You've been with us for days—haven't you noticed our master only likes to be… intimate with non-human girls?"

"But that's just lust. Love and lust are very different… just like you."

Tally's eyes widened.

Then she sneered: "You're not a real succubus—you wouldn't know. We sense a man's feelings through his essence. Plainly put: my master is head-over-heels in love with me. The kind of love where he'd abandon the whole world for me. Just thinking about it makes me wet."

"Doubtful."

Wenna eyed her skeptically:

"Miss Tally, you're mistaking lust for love. You have to look at his actions. Look—my deal with Mr. Luo De was only to get me to Deepwater City, but now he's deliberately provoking the Shadow Thieves and demons. Isn't that at least partly because of me?"

As she spoke, her face flushed with pride as she crossed her arms.

"Also, haven't you noticed? Mr. Luo De's been teasing me a lot these days. You're a succubus—you wouldn't know, but human boys always do this to get the attention of girls they like."

"Huh? Heh-heh-heh—"

Tally burst out laughing at this idiot.

She didn't bother arguing with such a fool.

She turned back to admire her master's handsome face.

No! Fuck—thinking about it made her angrier!

She kicked Wenna into a dark corner, locking her away—banning her from watching the live show.

Delinbil River.

This river, hugging the outskirts of Axe Beach Town, served as a moat to the north, protecting the residents within the walls while also functioning as a trade route—the only path from Xuan Shui City into Jianwan Sea.

Luo De, soaring through the sky with Flight and Repulsion spells, swung his Great Dragon-Slaying Sword.

Zzzzz!

The muffled rush of air carried unbearable weight.

Cambion Borden's smug arrogance vanished—his slick, oiled pompadour flew apart in disarray.

His wings spread wide as he frantically shifted position, trying to dodge.

The greatsword's power was terrifying—ten minutes ago, he'd been forced to block one blow; his three-layer spell shield shattered in a second, and he'd been slammed into the ground, leaving a crater like a meteor impact.

Luckily, he'd cultivated both magic and spiritual energy, and his body was thick and durable—he hadn't been outright killed.
