Chapter 507: Natalie and the Red Dragon

~8 min read 1,574 words

Tally ate with her mouth today.

Slowly, timidly.

Every so often, she lifted her eyes pitifully to steal a glance at Luo De's expression; knowing he wasn't paying attention, she forced herself to focus again, on the verge of tears.

After a long while.

Eating finished.

Luo De had held the Snow Hill Evening News the entire time, not looking at her once.

Tally carefully gathered every crumb that had spilled from her lips or hands, treasuring each morsel as she swallowed it.

She didn't linger, tidied him up, then patted her skirt and stood up obediently.

She began making small talk:

"Master, did Tally do well today?"

"What do you mean by 'did well'?"

"Tripping you on purpose! Tally knows you're interested in that witch, so I created an opportunity for you! Afterward, tell me which girl you like—I'll risk my life to help you win her over!"

"Don't meddle."

"It's not meddling~ Master's matters are Tally's matters."

"Heh."

Tally grew uneasy, constantly pinching her fingers together in front of her, her feet turned inward, stepping on each other.

"That… it's so late now, Tally's afraid to walk home at night—can I stay here to sleep? On the sofa! Just the sofa, I swear I won't get on the bed!"

"No."

"Then let me sleep on the floor. I won't use a blanket—just give me a rag to cover myself."

"No."

"."

Seeing Luo De's firm stance.

Tally nearly burst into tears, stomped her foot in anger, and slammed the door as she left.

Hmph! Tonight, I'm sleeping at the Tree Spirit's and the Little Deer Girl's place—I'll cling to them so tight they can't leave. See who you'll go to, you Chouzhuren!

Nighttime.

Near a jagged stretch of coastline beside the Coral Bay Munster waters.

A fierce flapping sound grew louder from afar, wind howling, bending trees sideways.

Mikhail looked up at the massive dragon silhouette in the sky.

Its thick, deep-red scales, darkened by age, shimmered with a molten glow under the faint moonlight.

The red dragon's wings were broad and powerful, its horns curving backward, radiating dignity and oppressive presence.

Its pair of orange-red eyes glowed like burning flames, watching him calmly from midair.

Mikhail averted his gaze, refusing to meet the aggressively intense stare.

Puff—

The gale shifted, the heavy, oppressive pressure becoming orderly, then gently dispersing evenly in all directions.

Despite weighing dozens of tons, Nas could land with perfect steadiness and silence atop the highest hill in the area, demonstrating his superior flight skill.

When the last echoes of wind faded.

He gazed down at the black dragon, his enormous, fiery pupils narrowing slightly.

"Mikhail, you lost again."

Mikhail knew he meant the incident earlier that day with the Stone Town forest warden.

The two of them had fought openly on flat ground during daylight—such a spectacle couldn't have gone unnoticed.

The young black dragon muttered inwardly.

It was all because Lord Inferno Asmodeus had summoned two male dragons to the same region.

Male dragons are notoriously territorial—only one dragon can rule a region, or one dominant leader.

The rest of the time, it's a struggle between two males.

And this one happened to be the most aggressive, most violent old red dragon.

Mikhail couldn't beat him, and because of his contract with Lord Inferno, he couldn't even flee.

Now he had to bow his head.

Annoyed.

Sigh… if only Asmodeus had summoned a female dragon instead, maybe she'd be drawn to my handsome looks.

"I didn't lose. That human was severely wounded by my acid—if he doesn't get treatment soon, he's already dead."

"You ran away—that's a loss!"

Nas growled a threatening rumble from his throat.

Born with an overwhelming desire to dominate, they allowed no defiance.

Mikhail gave a cold, guilty snort and refused to respond.

He forced himself to say: "Given my current injuries, I need to claim part of the dark elves' promised reward."

This red dragon, citing contract integrity as an excuse, had seized all rewards from Coral Bay, claiming he was holding them for Mikhail and would return them in full after the mission.

"A black dragon stripped of dignity—do you even deserve this reward?"

Mikhail had suspected this all along, and now glared furiously at Nas.

His snarling dragon face instantly radiated a primal, cruel, vicious aura.

"Nas! What do you mean?!"

The reward was a matter of principle.

Mikhail would no longer tolerate this.

"Heh! Come on, Mikhail—your overconfidence will add some fun to this boring life!"

"ROAR!!!"

Mikhail was about to charge.

Suddenly.

He saw a graceful figure atop Nas's head.

White hair, jet-black skin, and long, upward-curving ears.

Most importantly—she wore nothing at all.

Her languid, seductive gaze rested unashamedly on Nas's horns.

"Natalie?!"

Natalie Blackmoon, leader of the Black Moon clan of dark elves in Coral Bay!

Mikhail gasped.

He wasn't surprised Nas was involved with Natalie—he was stunned that Nas, of all beings, would let a tiny dark elf step on his head.

He knew this woman had once pleased Asmodeus himself.

As a reward, she'd been granted a fragment of Lilith's bloodline, granting her extraordinary seductive power.

Could it be…

Even Nas had fallen for her?

"Mikhail."

The woman's voice carried a faint, intoxicating fragrance, seeping silently into Mikhail's thoughts.

A trace of indescribable magic stirred his most primal urges.

Looking at the dark elf again:

Mikhail wasn't attracted to humanoid races—but now, he found her beauty transcendent, mysterious, dangerous, and breathtakingly exquisite.

He quickly lowered his head.

If dragons had sweat glands, Mikhail would have been drenched in cold sweat.

Close call.

He no longer dared speak—flapping his injured, awkward right wing, he shot into the sky and fled.

Nas and Natalie didn't pursue.

They simply watched his panicked, stumbling escape.

"Failed?"

Nas asked.

"Yes~ He's not strong among dragons, but his resistance and alertness were higher than expected—even my enhanced seduction didn't work."

Natalie raised her slender, elegantly shaped arm.

In her palm, a red spherical emerald cracked with a click, its essence dispersing into the air.

She felt warmth beneath her nose, touched it lightly—and found blood, from overexerting Lilith's bloodline.

She slumped weakly onto Nas's head.

Her obsidian-colored feet dangled above his mouth.

This red dragon, whose dominance was absolute, didn't grow angry—instead, he gently licked her feet as if they were precious treasures.

Natalie smiled softly, lying down to kiss his horns.

After some affectionate moments.

Nas said:

"Are you certain you want to do this, Natali? Betray the Duke?"

"Things have changed, Nas. Unlike the others, I possess the Lilith bloodline granted by that Lord. After years of study, I can now faintly sense his condition in reverse. That drop of sacred blood is wrong—during this chase, Lord Asmodeus is not trying to refine it; he's desperately trying to escape."

"Seize this chance to break free from the Blood Birth Pool's control."

"Yes, Nas. I need your help on this. But that place is the Abyss—I'm afraid you'll get hurt, which is why I had to act against the Black Dragon Mikhail. You won't think me fickle, will you?"

Nas snorted coldly.

"I can tell truth from pretense. When have I ever used charm magic on you? I simply find you adorable and pitiable—that's why I came to help."

As he spoke, his orange-red pupils, like torches, flickered with a barely perceptible pink aura.

Hearing this,

Natali burst into joyful tears, kissing and hugging him again and again.

The mighty Red Dragon Nas, reduced to such affection, purred softly, utterly losing his dragonly dignity.

"That forest warden may be a mere human ant, yet he's managed to wound dragons repeatedly. Shall I kill him for you?"

The red dragon added.

"No need. The dark elf clans in Coral Bay are divided; I'm not their only leader. Many still wait for Asmodeus's response and dare not act—so keeping Shi Ying Town and that warden alive actually distracts them, helping us move freely."

"But they clearly still harbor resentment over last time's attack and keep recruiting soldiers. Hah—how laughable. They think hiring some worthless mercenaries with money can defeat dragons? If they dare attack Coral Bay, you'll handle them."

"Don't worry. Even without your sorcerers, I alone can wipe them all out."

Nas remained as arrogant as ever.

Natali smiled, as if remembering something.

"Also, Mikhail is cunning. If he doesn't get his money today, he might take desperate action—go after your hoard."

"Hahaha—he hasn't got the nerve. My vault holds thirty-six ancient dragon magic traps and eighteen Dragon Golems guarding it. Not even a mosquito could fly in."

"Then I'm relieved. In a while, I'll reapply to raise the payment for two dragons—you'll keep it all."

"What's mine is yours. I'll give you a magical mark—use it anytime."

"No, that won't do. What's yours is yours—I'm not with you for money. By the way, I'll leave my last few physical drops of Lilith's blood in your hoard. I used them before among the dark elves, but they found out; since then, they've watched me closely. Only with you do I feel safe."

Saying this,

Natali handed him several crimson jade stones identical to those she'd used against the Black Dragon.

The red dragon Nas let out another soft, rumbling purr.

Clearly, he'd been thoroughly tamed.

He even said, with surprising emotion: "Meeting you, Natali, was the luckiest moment of my dragon life."

"Me too, Nas."
