Chapter 523: Double Dragon Duel
【Lily: Luo De! The "Phantom Dragon" effect has reached its limit.】
Luo De looked at the message Lily sent through the "Chain of Far-Speech" and nodded.
Although it differed slightly from what he expected.
But it wasn't a problem.
A direct battle between the dragons had been successfully ignited!
Red Dragon Nas was especially furious at Black Dragon Mikhail's betrayal and focused his attacks on him.
After all,
Luo De was posing as a White Dragon.
And the wild nature and lower intelligence of White Dragons were universally accepted traits among the chromatic dragons.
So the question arises:
One is a White Dragon—wild, crude, relying entirely on ambushes and hiding beneath ice layers, the shame of chromatic dragons.
The other is a Black Dragon—cruel, cunning, delighting in traps and torturing prey, his tiny brain constantly scheming.
Which one is more likely to have planned the theft of the vault and the alliance?
Red Dragon Nas could probably figure it out using the fine down beneath his scales.
Luo De activated the sentience of "Judian's Ice Blade Domain," summoning a gale of ice blades sweeping forward.
At the same time, he dispersed the White Dragon's battle spirit.
Reverting to his human form.
To them, it appeared the White Dragon had suddenly used a transformation spell to become human.
Mikhail, locked in close combat with Nas, saw this and couldn't help shouting:
"White Dragon brother! Come help me! Why are you turning human?!"
"Don't worry, Black Dragon brother! My human-form spells are deadly—I'll freeze him from behind. Just hold on a bit longer."
Mikhail nearly spat blood.
I brought you here to face Red Dragon Nas head-on while I harass him from the side!
And you? You've stolen my damn role!
He was about to roar at him to come assist.
Before he could speak, a dragon claw struck his face.
The hard bony claws scraped against black scales with a screeching sound, sparks flying.
In terms of sentience and magical quality,
Red Dragon Nas was a high-grade eighth-rank.
During their brief clash, Luo De estimated his value on the brass spirit-measuring sphere to be around 600 marks.
Compared to Black Dragon's 510 marks, that's nearly 100 marks higher.
No wonder he was so clearly overpowered.
And this single claw strike sent the entire dragon reeling!
"ROAR!! Don't hit a dragon in the face! Don't you know that?!"
That slap
Finally ignited his true rage—the scars on his face from the forest warden's blade had cost him a fortune to repair.
He'd always cleaned them with care—now you slap me like this? Was all my money wasted?!
"ROAR!!!"
A furious roar.
The two dragons wrestled fiercely together.
Luo De, from behind, feigned casting "Humus Ice Blades."
Unlike his breath attacks, which were shattered by the heat,
The freezing effects worked exceptionally well.
Though they still couldn't pierce the scales, after a series of strikes, he successfully coated nearly half of Red Dragon's body in white frost.
The "Rotting Decay" effect also took hold!
But then,
To avoid making Red Dragon sense he was the greater threat and turn on him,
Luo De maintained his slack attitude, refusing to expand the damage further.
Lily, the half-elf in the shadows, noticing his boredom, began to speak.
"How's it going, Luo De? How strong is the Red Dragon?"
Her voice rose with excitement—clearly thrilled by her second dragon-slaying operation.
"Strong. I wonder if you have that dwarf spirit-measuring sphere?"
"The derivative product from the dwarf artisan 'Heart of Rock'? I've got one."
"Yes, that thing—Red Dragon Nas is around 600 marks."
Hearing the Red Dragon's power data,
Lily wasn't afraid—she grew even more excited.
"600 marks? Much stronger than the substitute Green Dragon I took down in Deepwater—probably only 520 marks. By the way, my own value is 383 marks! Far beyond the dwarf standard for seventh-rank!"
The dwarven standard set seventh-rank between 150 and 300 marks.
Eighth-rank between 300 and 600 marks.
Ninth-rank above 600 marks.
Of course,
These values only applied to medium-sized humanoid races—useless for giants and dragons due to their massive size.
Still, Lily reaching 383 marks startled Luo De.
Last time, after his battle with Black Dragon Mikhail, his sentience rose slightly to 408 marks.
But don't forget,
Luo De only reached such a high value because he had cheats.
This girl? Pure talent monster.
"What about you, Luo De? What's your number?"
"I know!"
Tally, in the shadows, chimed in cheerfully, "Last time, after finishing her meal, Tally was resting in the Master's arms and saw it—408 marks!"
"Eating—cough!"
Lily coughed hard, feigning calm, "408 marks? No surprise from Luo De! But I'll catch up to you soon!"
Tally giggled, "You'll never catch up! The Master has a breathing technique called 'Elibert's Secret of Pleasure'—it boosts sentience and girls' energy. Even without that stinking snake and dog, we have six girls daily. Think you can catch up?"
"Six?!"
Just hearing the voice,
Luo De could picture Lily's shocked, slightly embarrassed, adorable little face.
"Humans have limits! You'll die doing this, Luo De!"
"Not at all!"
Tally added, "You'll understand once you try it. It's not something these few girls can overcome."
Lily panicked: "What do you mean 'try it later'? I'm Luo De's friend!"
Tally smirked, "You're a young half-elf—you don't understand your own feelings, never even explored them. Maybe tonight you should try. See whose face pops up in your mind."
"."
Lily fell silent.
But sounds of scuffling came from the shadows.
Tally laughed, "Hahaha—I'm not ticklish! You can't tickle me, but I can teach you some new tricks for other spots. The Master's been listening to elf gossip and controlling his diet—I've discovered plenty of new techniques!"
"Stop it right now!"
Lily was restrained by the situation—afraid casting spells would expose her.
Besides, the shadow realm was Tally's domain.
Otherwise, even two Tallys combined wouldn't stand a chance against battle-hardened Lily.
Luo De smiled, calming his thoughts.
Turned his gaze back to the dragons' battlefield!
Though Mikhail, now enraged, briefly matched Nas in strength,
A nearly 100-mark power gap couldn't be overcome by rage alone.
Even after unleashing Black Dragon's strongest breath weapon,
Red Dragon seemed prepared—he used acid-resistant magic and flame chains.
The former allowed him to tank acid with his scales alone.
The latter used heat to evaporate or neutralize part of the acid, weakening the breath's effect.
But it wasn't as if Red Dragon suffered no damage.
Mikhail specifically used a cone-shaped breath to maximize the acid's impact in the narrow canyon.
Sizzle—sizzle—
Sizzle-sizzle—
Violent corrosion appeared on the surface of Nas the Red Dragon's scales.
He roared fiercely, his attacks growing even more intense.
Black scales flew in shards, dragon blood sprayed everywhere, and agonized screams echoed continuously.
Amid the acidic fog, the two dragons' close combat grew even more brutal.
And Nas the Red Dragon was not like some decrepit old dragons who needed days to recover after a single breath attack.
After all, he was still in his prime, and his fire sac had long passed its fatigue phase.
He gave not the slightest mercy.
His dragon eyes blazed with intense orange-red fire.
Molten streams of spiritual energy flowed between the corroded scales.
A furious flame breath erupted with a thunderous boom, striking Mikhail the Black Dragon full force.
The black scales melted and deformed at a visible rate under the intense heat.
The overwhelming heat neutralized and evaporated much of the acidic fog within the canyon.
Mikhail could not bear it anymore and shrieked:
"Come help me! Stop using that damn ice blade spell!!"
"Right away, right away."
Right away was impossible.
Luo De watched from the sidelines.
After a large portion of his scales had been burned away, another brutal beating followed.
Mikhail the Black Dragon was reduced to nothing more than a beaten corpse on the roadside.
With a single effortless twist of his tail, Nas slammed Mikhail to the ground, then stomped down hard on his head.
The massive body crushed down with a thunderous rumble, shaking the canyon walls.
Nas the Red Dragon let out a mocking, triumphant roar.
"You ought to reconsider the company you keep, Mikhail! Of course, in your next life!"
"I surrender! I surrender, Nas!"
Mikhail screamed in agony.
The excruciating pain from the full force of the flame breath had robbed Mikhail of any desire to rise and fight again.
Beneath Nas's foot, half his head was buried in the earth.
But he stared fixedly at the 'White Dragon Brother' nearby, still in human form.
He was utterly confused.
Logically, even if Nas was strong and arrogant, he should not have won so easily against two dragons in close combat.
Yet this White Dragon had done nothing but slack off the entire time, except for a brief moment at the start.
What did he gain from this?
Wasn't he Nas's mortal enemy?
Was Nas his ally? Was his real target all along me??
"Do you think I'll give you that chance, traitor!"
"I can fix everything! For the sake of Duke Asmodeus, spare me, Nas! Oh—this White Dragon kept part of your treasury's treasure! Let's kill him together! I'll give you all my wealth too!"
Mikhail saw Nas's throat rumble with a low, guttural growl.
It was his habit when thinking.
Hope surged in him—he knew he likely wouldn't be torn apart!
And just then—
Mikhail suddenly saw the White Dragon in human form, his face beginning to change.
It transformed into a familiar human face—one he had hated in his mind.
He froze.
Then he instantly realized it—rage and humiliation flooded his mind.
"Forester Luo De!!!"
At the same moment—
A deafening, earth-shaking explosion erupted!
Above the canyon, a cannonball bearing a human face tore through the narrow sky, trailing pink-purple flames, and slammed directly into Nas the Red Dragon!
