Chapter 557: Formal Ascension to Divinity
Then again.
Since every man's room tends to dislike his mother's intrusion.
Luo De still refused the final request, to avoid being nagged by the half-deer man Xiao Ke.
Instead, he ordered the banshee Krist to do the cleaning.
This was originally Una the aranea's job.
But she was assigned to monitor the reconstruction of Coral Bay, and the daily commute was too exhausting.
As for Coral Bay, after nearly two months of reconstruction, the results were excellent.
Lord Ram's Stormwind City had not broken its word, once the Holy Flame Sect matter was clarified.
She immediately brought over a team of sixteen professional earth-and-magic engineers.
Luo De's side only needed to cover the cost of magical materials and food and lodging; the most expensive spellcasting fees were fully covered by Stormwind City.
Their contribution was largely responsible for Coral Bay's reconstruction reaching this level in just two months.
First and foremost, the magical city wall.
That thing was insanely expensive!
The materials used, the magical procedures involved, the spell components—all of it.
Far exceeded ordinary fortifications; had the spellcasting costs not been covered by Stormwind City.
Luo De would have bled heavily.
Fortunately, the witch Dimia's "quasi-legendary spell" had restrained itself, halting and preventing further bombardment of the wall.
Second, the internal structures.
Progress on those had been much faster—about 70% completed.
After all, not all buildings had been destroyed.
Areas untouched by battle could simply be renovated.
Luo De had no intention of designing something novel; he simply replicated Coral Bay's former seaside style.
For potential future tourism, he deliberately reserved a plot for vacation villas.
But only for now.
Given the continent's current state, few would want to come here for a vacation.
That afternoon,
Luo De was strolling through Coral Bay when he happened upon the witch Dimia and the dog-person Sharon.
They spotted each other from afar, about to greet and approach.
The weather had been clear, the sun bright.
Suddenly, a deep blue magical energy rose from the eastern horizon, spreading across the sky, swift and abundant.
In less than five seconds,
the entire sky was completely covered in deep blue magic.
The ambient spirituality rapidly transformed, emitting a humming resonance of magical friction.
This was no large-scale spell any mage or mage group could cast—it resembled some awe-inspiring natural phenomenon.
Including Luo De,
every mage with a magical rank clearly felt their own magic subtly shift in response to the sky's deep blue magic.
Faced with the sudden obscuring of the sky,
ordinary workers and the timid among them instantly fell into panic.
"Hmph."
Luo De frowned upward, sensing an odd familiarity.
But fortunately,
this magical veil appeared swiftly—and vanished just as quickly.
In an instant, the deep blue faded, and sunlight returned to the ground.
Seeing no further changes, and with Una using a sound-amplifying spell to calm them, the laborers soon returned to their work.
Una, as supervisor, remained calm.
But when she glanced back at Luo De, her eyes betrayed clear unease.
Luo De smiled and nodded, a simple gesture to soothe her.
Sharon the dog-person approached, her expression grave.
"I can feel the ambient spirituality merging with the magic that just fell from the sky—my aether is resisting it."
Hearing this, Luo De grew serious.
He stepped forward and embraced her shoulders.
The Plague Domain's 【Decomposing Unity】 and the Grass Domain's 【Green Vines Mutual Healing】 activated simultaneously.
A fragrance filled his arms.
Her body and shoulders were soft; he saw her golden dog tail immediately wag faster.
But Sharon quickly broke free.
Her face scowled.
"Can't you avoid hugging in public? Besides, is this really worth panicking over? Worst case, I'll just stop using aether."
Dimia arrived a moment later.
Her body had changed noticeably—her baby-faced, cute features were now flushed pink.
"It's the Weave. I felt the Weave's contact."
"The Weave? Isn't that Mystra's convenient spellcasting network? But it's currently controlled by those traitors who betrayed her—it's not supposed to be accessible!"
Sharon frowned.
The forest had never used the Weave.
Luo De had honored his promise to Mystra—until she fully ascended, he would reveal nothing about her.
As for the second informant, Asmodeus, the bastard was probably hiding somewhere, nursing his wounds—he hadn't shown his face at all.
Now it seemed,
Mystra's ascension had arrived.
No wonder he'd felt that odd familiarity when he saw the magical veil.
"It's different. My witch nature differs from yours—I can sense the Weave expanding wildly, wrapping the entire continent in its grasp through the magic veil just now!"
Dimia said solemnly.
She looked from Sharon to Luo De.
"This power… someone has ascended."
Sharon's face showed shock, then quickly calmed.
"Mystra's blood stained with a spark of divinity, then Asmodeus, tainted by her blood, fled wounded—now the Weave expands. Mystra has ascended."
The dog-girl swiftly deduced the correct answer from the outcome.
She turned to Luo De: "You fought Asmodeus—did you sense anything?"
But clearly,
she didn't believe Luo De was a key player.
Luo De spread his hands: "Actually, I'm Mystra's father."
Sharon's face changed; she lunged forward and clamped her hand over his mouth.
"Watch your tongue! You idiot! Mystra may have already ascended—no one knows what a god can do!"
She glanced around.
Only when she saw no abnormal magical fluctuations did she relax.
Luo De casually wrapped his arm around her waist, accelerating the dual-domain healing.
Sharon's body contained vast amounts of aether, currently battling the new magic fused with spirituality.
Her condition was not good.
Sharon had wanted to push him away, but this time Luo De was firm, holding her tightly.
She could do nothing but glare at him fiercely—yet her hands secretly gripped his collar.
Two months had passed.
Her research into spiritual constructs with Callist had reached a conclusion.
At least, her portion of the research was complete.
What remained was Callist's deconstruction work.
The halfling Lily would join in—Lily's skill in spellcraft was only average among mages.
But when it came to deconstructing spells, no one could surpass her.
Purely a talent prodigy.
And so,
Sharon would soon return to Faye to continue her comprehension of the primal Plague Domain.
I didn't post it publicly; let's discuss it in the group chat—check the pinned post in the discussion area.
