Chapter 681: Mirror Desert
Mirror Desert.
The palace of the Land Naga of the Braal Clan, the Sand Serpent Court.
When the morning sunlight streamed through the window, Eve was already awake.
She leaned against the obsidian windowsill, her eyes glancing idly at the newly planted emerald tree on the arched balcony.
The golden desert reflected blinding light, making her mature, beautiful face even more alluring.
Her thick, streamlined serpent tail coiled loosely, contrasting with her slender, snow-white human upper body.
She wore nothing; her waist arched backward, revealing smooth, powerful, and graceful lines along her back.
More captivating were the heavy mounds of flesh pressed against the sun-warmed obsidian windowsill.
Even from behind, their dominant silhouette was unmistakable.
Eve suddenly glared in anger, shooting a furious look at the emerald tree.
She slammed a magic stone that maintained constant temperature onto the silk cushion on the floor.
The cushion quivered violently, and so did her chest.
“Damn men are trash! None of them are trustworthy!”
He promised he’d come to Mirror Desert once the emerald tree was planted!
It’s been over two months already!
Eve pinched her brow and let out a cold snort.
Hmph! Of course you shouldn’t waste your thoughts on stinking men!
Starting today, discipline! I’ll work hard to uphold the Braal Clan’s glory!
Eve clenched her fist, giving herself a fierce pep talk.
Unintentionally, she glanced again at the emerald tree.
In her fantasy, the [Tree Walker] opened, and that damn man stepped out naked, pressing down on her just as he had in that forest ranger’s cabin.
Land Nagas have always been a lustful race.
A faint blush colored Eve’s cheeks; her lower abdomen burned hotter.
“Ah! Annoying!”
She gritted her teeth, rolled her alluring body over to the magical satchel beside the silk cushion, and pulled out a portrait of that damn man.
She stared at it, pressed it against her face, and began fantasizing.
Then she threw herself wholeheartedly into working hard to uphold the Braal Clan’s glory!
“Luo De. Luo De mmm~~”
Splash—
The emerald tree’s spiritual energy suddenly blurred; an invisible pressure tore open, and a swirling vortex of green spiritual energy expanded at a visible speed.
A tall figure stepped through.
“I came to hide from the storm—no, I came to play with you, Eve.”
Luo De’s handsome face emerged from the [Tree Walker].
The walls were lined with Persian blue and emerald-glazed tiles, the floor covered in handwoven wool carpets and piled with silk cushions in a sunken lounge area—unquestionably a strong Middle Eastern style, fitting for the desert.
And right there in the lounge area,
Eve froze, holding Luo De’s portrait in one hand, her other hand suddenly still mid-motion, her serpent tail still tightly coiled around a long pillow, her head turning stiffly.
“Master~ Don’t block the door, Tally can’t get in~~”
Tally’s small head squeezed out from between Luo De’s ribs and arm, took in the scene, and froze.
Then she grinned wickedly: “Looks like a stinking snake is lonely and desperate.”
Luo De gave her a knuckle rap—still a girl, even if she’s a snake.
“I’ll come back later.”
“Get back here!!!”
“Aww! Don’t use that dirty hand to pull my master!”
“You’re the dirty one! Your whole family’s dirty! You didn’t even exist when your master was buried!”
“It’s all snake stink, nothing like my sweet, sweet scent, right Master?”
“Disgusting succubus! Die!”
“Oh? You think you can beat me, the one favored by the Master and already promoted to eighth-rank?”
“Aww! You’re really going to fight?! Luo De, are you going to do anything?!”
The two girls’ playful squabble escalated into serious combat.
After being forcibly subdued by Luo De, they both calmed down, sitting sullenly in opposite corners.
This was Eve’s domain, after all—he had to show some respect; really, he was more focused on suppressing Tally.
The amber glow of sunlight spread through the entire bedroom.
The snowy, creamy skin was partially concealed by white undergarments and silver armor as she moved.
Especially when the Naga deliberately displayed elegant, alluring poses toward Luo De, leaving him with a lingering sense of loss after each one.
Eve curled her lips into a smug smile, then froze her expression.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
“I wanted to give you a surprise.”
Tally chimed in with a sly grin: “You’re the one who gave us a surprise.”
“Can you send this thing back, Luo De?”
Luo De gave Tally another knuckle rap, walked over to Eve, and gently hugged her, feeling her slight tremble.
“Long time no see. I missed you.”
“I missed your [Growth Spirit].”
Eve turned her head away, refusing eye contact, her beautiful face tinged with annoyance.
She always believed her relationship with Luo De was purely a transaction of power and beauty, perhaps mixed with lust—but absolutely no true feelings.
Absolutely none.
“You came at a perfect time—we’ve been struggling to develop one of our tombs.”
Luo De spread his hands: “I’m not good at tomb exploration.”
“You don’t need to explore. This tomb of ours just appeared in another clan’s territory—just drive off those who covet the Braal Clan’s tomb.”
“Your ancestors’ tomb?”
“Of course not. We don’t dig up our own ancestral tombs. Usually.”
“.”
Our tomb just happened to appear in another clan’s territory.
Just steal it—why pretend to be so righteous?
But Luo De wouldn’t care about morality here—he’d blindly support Eve.
“You just woke up, want me to wake you up properly?”
“As long as you can take it, you can do whatever you want tonight—let’s go now!”
Eve perked up.
With Luo De as her ultimate weapon, her ambition to unify Mirror Desert reignited—she had no room left for petty emotions.
Eve assembled her troops.
Not many—only about twenty—but all elite.
And with Luo De here, numbers weren’t an issue.
As for Luo De and Tally’s roles? Friends. Allies.
No one would dare interfere with Princess Eve of the Braal Clan’s private life—though some ministers had once complained her private life was too clean, bad for breeding offspring.
Luo De used a ceramic swan to cast a [Group Flight Spell].
The artifact’s display drew gasps from the troops, giving him a slight boost in prestige.
It would’ve been perfect if those senior soldiers hadn’t been secretly winking at Eve, urging her to loot.
It’s the desert.
Nothing unusual—there’s a vast stretch right beside the Wind Wall Forest.
Golden as far as the eye can see, no scenery worth mentioning.
They flew for an hour, passing a wasteland and an oasis, before finally arriving.
Far off, they saw heavy troop deployments.
