Chapter 62

061 For a dish of vinegar, they deliberately made a whole batch of dumplings!

After starting work, Fang Qingye went to find Xia He.

His office was now close to Xia He's, both on the same floor; after knocking and entering, Fang Qingye got straight to the point, telling her about encountering Chen Meimei delivering lunch to Zhang Qunying at noon.

"Senior, I think this issue needs attention. The volume of loan application materials is overwhelming, the approval cycle is too long, and corporate cash flow will definitely face serious problems. Director Zhang is too busy—he should be assigned additional staff to help."

"I've also considered this problem," Xia He nodded.

"I even asked Qunying directly—she said she could handle it... but it seems still serious. Alright, I'll call Qunying over; let's discuss how to resolve this."

Xia He picked up the landline on her desk and made a call; within minutes, Zhang Qunying knocked and entered.

"Sit down... Qunying," Xia He greeted. "I heard you're so busy you don't even have time to eat in the cafeteria, so you have colleagues bring you meals?"

"These past two days have been hectic—I'm rushing to review a set of materials. The company has called several times already; we can't delay any longer," Zhang Qunying said.

"No matter how busy you are, you still need time to eat," Xia He chuckled. "Just now I discussed this with Assistant Fang—we think we should lighten your load. We'll assign staff from other departments to help. If anyone in your department collapses from overwork, the problem will be huge."

Zhang Qunying didn't want staff pulled in—she feared lax review standards—but since Xia He had spoken, she couldn't object further, especially since it came from genuine concern for her.

"Thank you, Deputy Xia Hangzhang Xia. I'll follow your arrangement," Zhang Qunying said.

"Credit review is a highly specialized task, so we shouldn't pull too many people. How about this—draw two accountants from the Finance and Accounting Department, plus two from your department, split into two teams. You and I will each lead one team to conduct on-site reviews of enterprises. This phase is relatively independent and time-consuming. Assistant Fang, what do you think?" Xia He looked at Fang Qingye.

"I have no objections," Fang Qingye replied, though internally he thought:

Xia He clearly won't let Su Ming interfere with the Credit Department—even the task of leading on-site reviews is being kept from him.

"Good. Qunying, bring me the list of all enterprises currently under review. I'll start assigning tasks with Assistant Fang."

Zhang Qunying quickly left. Xia He turned to Fang Qingye and suddenly said:

"I didn't expect it."

"Didn't expect what?" Fang Qingye asked.

"I didn't expect you'd agree so readily to go out and visit enterprises in this sweltering heat," Xia He chuckled.

"Hey... Senior, you're a beautiful woman and you're not afraid of the heat or getting sunburned—what's there for a big guy like me to fear?!" Fang Qingye joked aloud, while internally thinking:

"I got ripped off... For a dish of vinegar, I ended up making a whole batch of dumplings! I'll have to ask Dahai for compensation later."

Soon, Zhang Qunying brought the list of recently reviewed enterprises. Fang Qingye glanced at it—there were twenty-five companies!

Holy shit...

So many!

Vanguard Commander Chongjian Co., Ltd. was clearly on the list.

"Deputy Xia Hangzhang Xia, you lead the team to review large enterprises—their loan amounts are substantial and need your careful scrutiny. I'll handle the small and medium-sized ones," Fang Qingye proposed.

"Alright," Xia He agreed.

The two accountants from Finance and Accounting arrived promptly, along with two from Credit, and Chen Meimei was also assigned to join the fieldwork.

The team was quickly divided into two groups, each led by Xia He and Fang Qingye, to begin consecutive field visits starting tomorrow.

Fang Qingye's group consisted of Chen Meimei and Zhang Chunli, a female accountant from Finance and Accounting.

"Deputy Xia Hangzhang Fang, which company should we visit first tomorrow?" Chen Meimei asked in Fang Qingye's office.

"Vanguard Commander Chongjian Co., Ltd.!"

"Understood, Deputy Xia Hangzhang Fang. I'll call the company to notify them of tomorrow's on-site review and ask them to prepare. Then I'll go with Sister Zhang to review their submitted documents and get familiar with their situation," Chen Meimei said.

"Fine. After you've reviewed everything, send the materials over for me to check."

After they left, the office fell quiet.

Fang Qingye sipped tea, opened his computer, and began browsing news—when his desk phone rang. It was Song Dahai calling. He answered.

"Ye Zi, you're doing well... Now that you're Xia Hangzhang, things are different. Just now, Boss Tian called me—he said the bank has scheduled tomorrow's vehicle inspection at their place, and you're leading the team yourself!"

"Ah... I've really brought trouble on myself. Isn't it better to sit in the office with the AC on during this heat? Why did I have to go out? And it's not just his company."

Fang Qingye briefly explained the situation.

On the other end, Song Dahai laughed heartily: "Alright, I'll tell Boss Tian to thank you properly!"

"No, Dahai—don't tell Boss Tian that. I'm doing this because of our relationship," Fang Qingye hurried to say.

"Got it. I know. Well, I've got to get back to work... Bye."

"Bye."

The next morning, after breakfast at the office, Fang Qingye prepared to head out to the countryside, riding in the unit's Santana 2000.

The Nanxin Branch had two cars but only one driver; if both needed to be used simultaneously, the staff had to drive themselves.

Neither Zhang Chunli nor Chen Meimei in Fang Qingye's group could drive, so Fang Qingye had to drive himself.

What a burden...

Looking out at the blazing sun, Fang Qingye started the car.

Vanguard Commander Chongjian Co., Ltd. was located in the Liulin Town industrial park. Fang Qingye drove over forty minutes to reach Liulin Town, entered the industrial zone, and arrived at the company building—where Tian Zhonggu and several others stood waiting at the main entrance, apparently their leadership team.

Seeing the Santana stop at the entrance, Tian Zhonggu hurried over to open the door—only to discover Fang Qingye was the driver.

"Deputy Xia Hangzhang Fang, why are you driving yourself?" Tian Zhonggu was surprised.

"We only have one driver—he's overwhelmed. No choice," Fang Qingye said.

"Ah, if I'd known, I'd have sent a car to pick you up in the county."

"No need."

Fang Qingye stepped out, shook hands with the others, exchanged introductions, and the group entered the building.

"Deputy Xia Hangzhang Fang, here's my plan: it's so hot, let's first go to the conference room to cool off, eat some watermelon, rest a bit, then I'll give you my report," Tian Zhonggu said as they walked.

"No conference room. No reports—we've already read your materials. Let's keep it simple: one person checks your financial records, another reviews your credit history and fixed assets. I'll just walk around your factory and take a look," Fang Qingye said.

"Alright, I'll accompany you. Let me arrange it right away," Tian Zhonggu said immediately.

"Fine... don't forget to prepare watermelon for the two of them."

"Of course, that's no problem."

Fang Qingye was not idly wandering around with nothing to do; according to requirements, inspecting enterprise sites in person—observing the factories, equipment, raw materials, and even workers' production conditions—was part of the inspection.

By noon, the inspection was largely complete; the three met in the conference room to exchange information and found no serious issues, then filled out the relevant forms and tables, concluding the day's inspection.

At mealtime, Tian Zhonggu invited them to stay for lunch, and Fang Qingye naturally accepted.

Fang Qingye drove; the two female comrades did not drink baijiu, so no alcohol was served at lunch. After a simple meal, Fang Qingye prepared to drive back to the county seat.

"Director Fang, please wait a moment," said Tian Zhonggu.

Soon, someone brought three elegantly wrapped gift boxes and placed them in their trunk.

"Director Fang, a small token of our appreciation," said Tian Zhonggu with a smile.
