Chapter 267: The Jester: Now the Jester
Hilandri, the Veil-Walker, felt the ambient psychic energy rippling through the air and stared at the exit bound by thick chains of psychic force, momentarily stunned.
This terrifying psychic power
wasn't just extraordinary among humans—it was among the very elite even among the Aeldari Seers, a top-tier powerhouse.
The instant Hilandri, the Veil-Walker, sensed this psychic force, a cold sweat broke out across her skin.
Just considering the psychic power Digris displayed in that fleeting moment—if measured against the human psychic Rena as a baseline—it was at least 80 to 100 Rena units.
And that might not even be his full strength; at least in Hilandri's judgment, Digris had yet to unleash a significant portion of his psychic potential.
We're screwed!
The thought flashed instantly through Hilandri's mind,
but it quickly faded away.
Why should she panic? It wasn't her who was screwed—she'd just been dragged here to do free labor.
As for escaping, Boss Zhou's artifact, the "Magic Door," doesn't operate through the Warp—Digris can't stop it!
So Hilandri, the Veil-Walker, burst into a grin and turned to look at Zhou Yun beside her.
Her eyes brimmed with mockery and schadenfreude, as if taunting Zhou Yun for having been caught.
Yet Zhou Yun glanced at her with a twitching eyelid.
"Still not showing yourself?"
Digris's voice boomed like thunder, crashing over Hilandri, the Veil-Walker,
Hilandri, the Curtain Walker, suddenly staggered, nearly collapsing to the ground.
Her face twisted in bewilderment—why was he targeting only her?!
"Aeldari jester, daring to infiltrate the Hera Fortress alone—you truly have audacity matched by skill."
Digris's eyes, blazing with psychic flame, locked onto the direction where Hilandri, the Veil-Walker, stood.
Hilandri pointed at herself, then at Zhou Yun beside her, her expression screaming, "What the hell?!"
Why was only she exposed??
This… this doesn't make sense??
We're all using the same Blindspot Star!
"I don't know how you concealed your form—it's an exceptionally sophisticated technique."
Digris spoke calmly:
"But I didn't see you with my eyes—I foresaw your existence."
"Though your physical presence is obscured, the ripples you've caused in fate cannot escape my vision."
Hilandri, the Veil-Walker, opened her mouth slightly in shock,
and in that moment, she realized—the jester was herself!
Though, to be fair, she'd always been the jester.
Zhou Yun watched Hilandri's bewildered expression and shrugged helplessly.
Even Sanguinius, aware of Zhou Yun's existence, couldn't precisely foretell his fate.
Digris's precognitive ability paled in comparison to Sanguinius's and didn't even know Zhou Yun existed—he could never have foreseen him.
But Hilandri, the Veil-Walker, clearly lacked such protection—she'd been exposed to Digris's foresight.
"Still hiding?"
Digris roared, swinging his staff—suddenly, a searing bolt of psychic lightning split the air and lashed toward Hilandri, the Veil-Walker.
The jester twisted her body desperately, relying on her incredible reflexes to dodge the psychic bolt.
For a jester, this should've been as easy as cracking open an ant-ox can with your toes!
But Hilandri suddenly felt her body slow, as if sinking into a swamp of time itself.
That Space Marine Librarian had slowed time?!
Hilandri couldn't react in time—the psychic lightning struck her squarely in the chest, sending her tumbling to the ground, the Blindspot Star falling from her armor.
Now she wanted to cry—she'd been the one who got screwed after all.
Zhou Yun didn't need to care about her—he could just wait until Digris dealt with or captured Hilandri, then use the Magic Door to escape.
As for betraying Zhou Yun? Hilandri felt the Lockheart Beetle inside her and cursed the Necrons even louder!
"Jester, who sent you here?"
"Are the two Aeldari hidden among the expedition team your allies?"
"What is your true objective?"
Digris's voice rang like a gong, each word carrying intense psychic force and willpower crushing down upon Hilandri, the Veil-Walker.
Three questions, three waves of pressure—within moments, they nearly shattered her will, forcing her to answer Digris—
"I—" Hilandri hadn't even spoken when the Lockheart Beetle inside her surged with electric current, jolting her nerves and forcibly interrupting her.
"Speak!!" Digris, enraged that she was resisting, intensified his psychic will and slammed it down upon her.
But Hilandri, controlled by the Lockheart Beetle, couldn't utter a word.
Digris frowned—this Aeldari had an unusually stubborn will? This wasn't an ordinary one—he needed to amplify his psychic power!
Suddenly, Hilandri was caught between the Lockheart Beetle's control and Digris's psychic pressure.
Every time Digris's will overpowered her, the Beetle physically interrupted her—then Digris's psychic force would seize her again, forcing her to speak, over and over.
Hilandri, the Veil-Walker, was on the verge of tears.
A hand suddenly reached out toward Digris, who was still channeling his psychic energy.
"Mechanized Device: Stasis Field!"
Zhou Yun's voice rang out sharply—the mechanical ability, copied from the Stasis Field in the Sanctum, activated instantly, enveloping Digris in a field of stillness that froze him in place.
"Sorry, this jester is my personal property."
Zhou Yun said softly,
Hilandri still had to be kept alive to lure Xigole—given the cycle between Digris and the Lockheart Beetle, if this continued, she'd be driven to death.
Zhou Yun didn't believe Xigole would abandon Hilandri—he'd even retrieve a horn swallowed by Slaanesh; was Zhou Yun really more dangerous than Slaanesh?
Even if he did abandon her—well, Hilandri could still be sold to the Future Department Store.
After some thought, Zhou Yun decided to rescue Hilandri.
On the ground, Hilandri, the Veil-Walker, was freed from Digris's psychic pressure and gasped for air.
"Boss!!" Hilandri burst into tears—she never expected Zhou Yun would actually save her!
After all, Xigole had been ignoring her messages—logically, she should've been useless by now.
"Another one?"
Digris's voice suddenly pierced through the stasis field.
His figure surged forward, raising the staff once belonging to the Hero Macordo, psychic lightning swirling around him and scorching the ground.
With a mighty effort, he tore through the stasis field entirely.
Digris's eyes flickered with blazing psychic sparks—he now appeared half-material, half-existent within the Warp.
Zhou Yun was slightly taken aback.
No wonder Digris was the strongest Librarian in the Imperium, even surpassing the current Mephiston—he was a monster; the stasis field could only disrupt him, not truly stop him.
Digris was equally stunned—there was another presence his foresight had missed?!
Even now, though he knew someone was there, he could only vaguely sense their presence within the Sanctum, unable to pinpoint their exact location.
What an incredibly dangerous being!
Digris immediately unleashed a surge of psychic current to encase his body, guarding against ambush.
Zhou Yun also grew serious.
With his current gear, forcing Digris to retreat was certainly possible.
His mechanized device still carried one shot of Boss P's custom Angel Fortress anti-air laser—enough to potentially cripple even Digris.
But the problem was, Zhou Yun didn't intend to kill Digris.
Besides, the Sanctum of Guilliman lay at the heart of the Hera Fortress—any major commotion would draw the Ultramarines here within minutes.
Could Zhou Yun really kill all the Ultramarines just to resurrect Guilliman?
And then tell Guilliman, upon waking, that all those dead Ultramarines were "necessary sacrifices"?
That would be pure madness!
As Zhou Yun pondered, Digris suddenly moved.
His psychic flames surged higher, and a massive wave of psychic energy erupted outward in all directions.
Since he couldn't locate the enemy's position, he'd simply obliterate everything around him!
Zhou Yun wasn't surprised by Digris's decision.
He braced himself with the Ghost DX suit to withstand the first psychic wave, then swiftly dodged aside.
But Digris immediately detected Zhou Yun's location—he raised his arm, psychic energy coiling at his fingertips.
Yet Digris's movement hesitated for a split second.
Because Zhou Yun, braving the psychic onslaught, suddenly appeared directly in front of Roboute Guilliman.
If Digris unleashed his attack now, he might accidentally strike Roboute Guilliman.
The probability was low—Zhou Yun was still some distance away, and Guilliman's body had protective systems—but even a slight chance made Digris hesitate.
Zhou Yun seized that fleeting moment of hesitation and reached into his fourth-dimensional pocket.
Zhou Yun seized that moment of hesitation from Digeris and reached into his fourth-dimensional pocket.
It must be an item capable of forcing Digeris to retreat within just a few minutes without causing too much commotion.
Zhou Yun's mind raced, and he quickly determined exactly what he needed.
"You're the one."
After a brief hesitation, Digeris retracted his power, spun his staff like a hammer, and slammed it toward Zhou Yun, wrapped in spiritual energy.
Then, Digeris saw the linen robe fluttering in the wind,
a terrifying sensation struck his heart directly, making his whole body tremble,
before he could react, his body was violently thrown backward.
