Chapter 87: Reina: Huh????
Reina stood beside the Three Forks Junction, staring blankly at the scene before her.
After eliminating the Sniper-Crusader, she used psychic energy to enhance her body and rushed here in a panic.
Then she saw.
Reina stared blankly at the one-eyed old man and the armless Crusader standing before the tavern.
Her eyes, filled with disbelief, turned toward the towering figure over three meters tall beneath the Saint Guilliman statue.
It was a majestic deity standing beneath the statue, its sheer size making it vastly distinct from ordinary mortals.
Beneath its bald head, its face was perfectly flawless, like the Emperor’s greatest creation, radiating untouchable holiness and gentleness.
Merely glancing at it, Reina felt the urge to kneel.
Especially after noticing that its face was identical to the statue behind it.
Saint Guilliman! That three-meter-tall man looked exactly like Saint Guilliman!
A resident of the Mingfuxingxi might not know the appearances of the other eight Primarchs,
but he could never fail to recognize the sacred visage of the Archangel Saint Guilliman.
The only differences between this man and Saint Guilliman were the lack of wings and golden hair!
Reina froze completely in place.
The Archangel has manifested!
The Archangel is bald!
“I, Hogiles. Lupebar!”
Zhou Yun, wearing the bald-headed appearance of Saint Guilliman, opened his massive arms and announced his newly invented name to the Crusaders before him.
A name forged from Horus. Lupecar and Saint Guilliman.
The winged figure within the white light cursed Zhou Yun relentlessly, as if even in death, it would burn him on white phosphorus pyres.
The Crusader’s expression shifted from blank confusion, to shock, then to darkness.
“Hogiles. Lupebar?”
“Or should I call you Neos or Laine. Rus? I didn’t expect you to crawl out of the sewers so soon.”
“Not as fast as a six-legged insect,” Zhou Yun retorted.
His gaze swept the surroundings—sure enough, he found no trace of the Gene-Stealer Chieftain.
The bastard must be hiding somewhere, remotely controlling the Crusaders via psychic energy.
Quite cautious.
“Cautiousness is a virtue we all should possess.”
The Crusader didn’t seem to sense Zhou Yun’s mockery; instead, he chuckled lightly.
“Aren’t you also hiding your true face?”
“Who says that? My handsome face is naturally this way.”
Zhou Yun touched his face—holy, gentle, perfectly flawless—and said:
“Purely natural. Not a single gene modified.”
“Hehe, though I don’t know who you are, I now know that Radben and the Ark Sect’s leader are both connected to you.”
“Rest assured, I’ll greet you with endless assassinations—”
“Too lazy to listen.”
Sssshhh!!!
Before the Crusader finished speaking, a laser shot straight toward its forehead.
The Crusader, unwilling to accept defeat, dodged slightly.
But as if by coincidence, it collided perfectly with the laser—its head exploded into ash and vanished.
“My marksmanship is getting better.”
Zhou Yun, holding the laser rifle, couldn’t help but sigh.
Inside the One-Eyed Old Man’s Tavern,
earlier, the One-Eyed Old Man had fired into his own tavern, burning several large holes in the outer wall.
Now he was laying tables sideways to temporarily plug the holes.
He also cleared the space in front of the counter for Reina and Zhou Yun.
Reina stared at Zhou Yun—three meters tall, wearing Saint Guilliman’s face and a bald head—and felt uneasy.
“Do you really have to be so blasphemous?” Reina said, nearly in tears.
“If Saint Guilliman doesn’t mind, why should you?” Zhou Yun countered.
“I mind! I mind a lot!” The winged figure in the white light shouted loudly.
Zhou Yun chose to ignore him.
Reina didn’t know how to respond to this blasphemous topic, so she quickly steered it back on track: “What exactly did you do in the Undernest?”
“Why did the Gene-Stealer Chieftain suddenly send Crusaders to assassinate you and the One-Eyed Old Man?”
“Oh, it’s not a big deal,” Zhou Yun smiled. “I killed the Gene-Stealer cult’s High Priest.”
“.Ah?”
Reina was slightly startled, but quickly recovered.
“That explains it. That makes sense now.”
“You actually killed the Gene-Stealer cult’s High Priest… impressive.”
According to the book Zhou Yun sold her, “Gene-Stealers for Dummies,” the High Priest was essentially the second-in-command of the entire Zuqun , the chief psychic, and the key figure behind the Gene-Stealers’ expansion among humans.
Zhou Yun killed her—no wonder they sent retaliation.
“The Gene-Stealer Chieftain built a biomass pool in the Undernest, using genetic data transmitted via an Aether Engine to cultivate Tyranid behemoths.”
Seeing Reina’s expression ease slightly, Zhou Yun continued smiling.
This book was recently updated in ##!! UPDATE!
“I and two mutants corrupted the behemoth it cultivated, blinded one of its eyes, and drove it out of its own home.”
“.Ah?”
Reina blinked, as if unable to comprehend.
She understood every word Zhou Yun said—but together, they felt strangely off.
Biomass pool. Aether Engine. Tyranid behemoth. Mutants. Corruption. Bullying the Gene-Stealer Chieftain.
Each term carried explosive information.
“You really did something huge,” Reina said, unable to suppress a bitter laugh.
“But those two mutant brothers broke ties with me.”
Seeing Reina catch her breath, Zhou Yun continued:
“The older brother used a divine artifact to corrupt the Aether Engine, opening a rift into the domain of the Plague God in the Highest Heaven.”
“Countless demons gathered beyond the rift, attempting to invade Asford and drag the entire planet into the Warp to be corrupted.”
Reina’s expression shifted from confusion to terror.
“But! It’s fine!”
Zhou Yun changed tone.
“The Emperor Himself possessed Jeanne and manifested.”
“.What?” Reina’s mouth hung open, her eyes glazed as she stared at Zhou Yun.
Zhou Yun even wondered if his words had triggered some psychic defense mechanism in Reina.
“Don’t worry. Even if the Emperor didn’t manifest, it wouldn’t matter.”
Zhou Yun waved his hand.
“Before the Emperor could even act, I moved the Aether Engine—and the Warp rift—away entirely.”
Zhou Yun’s lips curled into a dazzling smile.
Reina felt a chill run down her spine.
She remembered Zhou Yun’s ability to transport large objects.
A suspicion immediately formed in her mind.
“You—you—you didn’t…”
Zhou Yun clapped for her.
“Correct. You guessed right.”
“That Aether Engine you’ve been obsessing over—the one corrupted by the Plague God.”
“I brought it back for you!”
“AHHHH!!!” Reina screamed shrilly.
