Chapter 147: Raising the Round Hand

~10 min read 1,867 words

The traveler, Traveler Anlakai'er, watched with horror and rage the fragment of the Burning Star God flying through the void,

this shadow of an ancient deity waving its thin energy wings in a manner that completely defied the laws of physics, flying toward the human fleet,

what made Traveler Anlakai'er rage and tremble with fear was that this fragment had actually revived to such an extent?!

The slaughter with the Insect Saint, the feeding by snatching the light of stars, and the entire ignited Underworld Galaxy,

all these nourished this ancient Star God, reviving it bit by bit, waking it bit by bit, finding its self-awareness bit by bit from its shattered personality and will,

when it found that spark of self-knowledge amidst its confusion, the constraints imposed upon it by the Necrons became completely useless,

and it is the Burning One, the Lord of all Burnings; an entire burning galaxy greatly stimulated its self-awakening,

plus the vast stellar energy it snatched from the Blasphemous Twin Stars in the Underworld Galaxy,

at this moment, the fragment of the Burning Star God had completely broken free from Traveler Anlakai'er's control, relying on its own instincts to try to devour human souls.

Traveler Anlakai'er felt shame and anger,

because the plan to ignite the entire galaxy was proposed by him, the Burning One was also released by him, and it was even he who made the Burning One calibrate the Grand Prism for the sake of swift action,

the fact that the Burning One could completely break free from its bonds and become so powerful was entirely due to his fault,

whether out of hatred for the Star God, the Necron Overlord's honor to recover important assets, or to suppress the danger brought by the Burning One's awakening,

Traveler Anlakai'er must quickly re-constrain this Star God,

he absolutely cannot let it drink human souls; so many humans in the Underworld Galaxy, their souls would cause the fragment of the Burning Star God to revive to an extremely dangerous degree.

Traveler Anlakai'er looked at the huge black metal Jin Zita in front of him, constantly being repaired by Necron constructs,

it was a hypercube maze, with complex folded multi-dimensional space-time regions inside, a machine specifically manufactured to constrain Star God fragments,

this device could snatch the power of the Star God fragment itself to provide power for itself; the stronger the Star God fragment, the stronger the device's constraint.

Traveler Anlakai'er hoped it could make the Burning One submit.

Light spears tore through the void, macro-cannons scorched the vacuum,

the ships of the Blood Angels immediately detected that the Star God fragment had fallen into a frenzy,

they unleashed all the few remaining firepower on their ships at that material universe deity burning all over,

however, what happened next was enough to make the refugees on the ships feel terrified,

they saw the fragment of the Burning Star God, facing the starship firepower shooting at it, only slightly tremble the thin wings behind it a few times,

in almost an instant, the space before the Burning One rapidly twisted, folded, and merged, the entire space turning into a complex maze,

all macro-cannons, light spears, and torpedoes fired into it deflected their trajectories in a way completely inexplicable by the laws of physics, constantly bouncing and warping in front of the Burning One.

It merely waved its hand slightly, and these attacks from the ships turned to dust and vanished into the void,

as a fragment of a Star God, it was itself composed of fundamental energies that determined the laws of physics, able to tamper with the laws of physics at will.

Xiang Xiang Leina's body trembled slightly as she watched this scene through the porthole; all the refugees who could see the spectacle of the universe fell into panic,

they did not understand what that terrifying existence burning all over was, only knowing that even the fleet's salvo could not harm it in the slightest.

Xiang Xiang Leina took a deep breath gently,

she knew that within the Underworld Galaxy now, there were not many people capable of subduing this Star God fragment,

that Chief Librarian of the Blood Angels, that Necron Overlord who was not quite sane, and Xiang Xiang Leina thought of Zhou Yun.

Xiang Xiang Leina silently lowered her head and prayed to Hua Di Huang.

The Battle Sisters on another ship were doing the same thing,

the few remaining Battle Sisters were devoutly gathered around a sleeping girl,

she was a young girl with withered golden hair, bearing shallow burns on her body like holy stigmata; she kept her eyes tightly shut, seemingly immersed in a dream far beyond the material universe.

The Battle Sisters prayed in low voices, their tone carrying unimaginable resilience,

as if they believed that the power sufficient to subdue a Star God was contained within the body of this tender girl before them.

And beside the Battle Sisters, more refugees gathered around, praying to this small, sleeping young girl,

Sister Superior Magda looked somewhat confusedly at Adelede kneeling on the ground.

"Sister Adelede," Sister Superior Magda said, her voice trembling slightly: "You mean the spirit of Hua Di Huang is manifested in the body of this pure young girl."

"I swear to Hua Di Huang, Sister Superior."

Battle Sister Adelede raised her head and looked with eyes full of piety and emotion at the tender girl lying in the midst of the Battle Sisters:

"I witnessed with my own eyes the spirit of Hua Di Huang descend upon this holy young girl; I witnessed with my own eyes the flames of Hua Di Huang burn holy stigmata upon her body."

Sister Superior Magda gazed at the shallow burn marks on the young girl's body; the marks intersected in the shape of flames; with just one look, Sister Superior Magda felt an inexplicable heat in her chest,

she vaguely saw a divine presence within the young girl.

And in the deeper cabin, in a place of silence and no sound,

Di Xi led the few remaining Bai Si Sect assassins, devoutly kneeling before two statues of deities,

behind her were a considerable number of refugees; with the arrival of the swarm, death coiled around the entire Asford, and many refugees were awakened to a reverence for death, devoutly converting to the Bai Si Sect.

Under Di Xi's guidance, they devoutly prayed to Hua Di Huang and to the Chosen Saint of the Bai Si Sect,

before them stood two statues of deities,

one was Hua Di Huang, and the other was a blue raccoon cat wearing a pocket.

"Praise the Holy Doraemon, you are the Chosen One acting on the will of Hua Di Huang, you are the messenger who awakens the spirits of all machines, you are the saint who slays the swarm."

"Praise the Holy Doraemon, may you bring irresistible death to all enemies of humanity, may your pocket swallow all blasphemy and corruption."

The believers of the Bai Si Sect prayed devoutly,

the statue of the blue raccoon cat raised its round hand, as if pointing the way for these believers.

Morpheston stood on the bridge of the Sword of Vengeance, looking with a face full of exhaustion at the Star God approaching the fleet in the distance,

his psychic power had been consumed too much, and the damage inflicted by facing the Hive Mind had not yet faded,

but Morpheston knew that there were not many forces in the material universe capable of causing harm to a Star God,

The entire fleet could only rely on his psychic power; only power from the Supreme Heaven could oppose that shard of the Star God.

The think tanks who had followed Morfiston here circled around him, and they would channel their psychic power into Morfiston's body.

Suddenly, the weary-faced Morfiston froze for a moment.

He faintly saw, in subspace, a wisp of blue shadow spreading, swiftly driving away the already weakened Hive Will.

Chaotic scenes flickered before Morfiston's eyes; he vaguely saw—

Morfiston suddenly raised his head, looking into the deep void, looking to the side of the Star God shard.

The Traveler. Anlakel's figure appeared beside the Star God shard almost in the blink of an eye.

Beside him, a colossal machine resembling a pyramid hovered.

Anlakel had not brought more armed forces, because he knew the fleets he had brought were nowhere near enough to oppose the Star God shard that had broken free of its bonds.

The only chance was to seize the instant when the Burner Star God shard had not yet reacted, and bind it with the Tesseract Labyrinth.

Anlakel swung the war scythe in his hand toward the Star God shard; the Tesseract Labyrinth, obedient to Anlakel's will, transformed and split into four segments that coiled around the Burner.

The Burner let out a soundless roar, and searing flames surged like the halo of a star.

The Tesseract Labyrinth let out a piercing tremor in response.

A blaze of fire broke through the blockade, and before Anlakel could react, it slammed violently into Anlakel's metal body.

Anlakel dodged hastily, but the metal arm holding the war scythe was torn apart.

The Tesseract Labyrinth, split into four segments, shook; a super-tier node matrix layer and a set of necromantic leeches released chains forged by siphoning the Burner's own power, attempting to restrain this savage, frenzied Star God shard.

Yet the Burner roared again and again, the fabric of the material universe trembling with each, and countless flames scattered across the starry sky.

Anlakel could feel that the Burner's will—savage, reduced almost to pure instinct—was invading the structure of the Tesseract Labyrinth, trying to seize control of this cage.

Anlakel felt his data-personality on the verge of igniting.

He let out a terrified roar, snatched up the war scythe drifting in the void, and charged furiously at the hovering Tesseract Labyrinth.

He had to make his own will triumph over the Burner's, and maintain control over this Tesseract Labyrinth.

Anlakel drove the war scythe, condensed with his complex will, savagely into the Tesseract Labyrinth.

Crack.

Anlakel suddenly heard the sound of a door opening echo through the void.

The thin gases Eros had launched into space served as a medium for sound to travel, and Anlakel's living metal body heard that almost imperceptible sound.

The Star God shard sensed it too; Anlakel perceived a wave of instinctive wariness rising in the shard's will.

The Burner Star God shard let out a roar that shook the material universe, and clumps of flame burning in defiance of physical laws surged toward the place from which the door-opening sound had come.

Anlakel saw a wooden door, red tinged with pink, materialize out of nowhere in the void of space.

The wooden door pushed open gently, and a round white hand reached out from within.

That round hand was also holding a piece of scarlet cloth, seemingly some sort of cape.

"Ta-da-da-da!"

"Reflect Cape!"

So uncomfortable, I feel worse today than yesterday. I took medicine in the afternoon hoping to nap a while, but someone's renovating and it's so noisy I could die....
