Chapter 155

~10 min read 1,924 words

In the room behind the tavern, Zhou Yun sat on a chair made of scrap metal and took a red ring and a blue cross out of his four-dimensional pocket.

The True-False Divination Machine, a tool that can determine whether any question is correct or incorrect.

Zhou Yun had rented it once while in Ashford, confirming that he could exchange for an Anywhere Door in Ashford, the situation of the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, and the identity of the winged figure in the white light.

It is an extremely useful tool; the rental price is 1.5 million for 10 questions.

Zhou Yun weighed his words for a moment, looked at the ring and cross on the table, and spoke softly:

"I can successfully find Sanguinius's remains in the Angel Fortress and resurrect Sanguinius, without suffering any form of serious injury myself."

As the words fell, Zhou Yun stared fixedly at the cross and the ring on the table.

But neither of them moved, which meant this question had no clear answer.

Zhou Yun could not help but feel slightly disappointed.

According to his experience in Ashford, if the True-False Divination Machine determined the truth or falsehood of a question, it would become an unchangeable future.

If the True-False Divination Machine had just confirmed the truth or falsehood of this question, then Zhou Yun would absolutely not suffer any form of serious injury before resurrecting Sanguinius, and he would inevitably be able to resurrect Sanguinius.

But the True-False Divination Machine believed this question had no truth or falsehood, indicating that everything still had variables.

"But Sanguinius's remains are indeed in the Angel Fortress." Zhou Yun rubbed his chin and muttered in a low voice.

If Sanguinius were not in the Angel Fortress, the True-False Divination Machine would have directly judged it as false.

Zhou Yun pondered for a moment and asked again:

"The power blocking me from resurrecting Sanguinius mainly comes from that Blood God in the Warp."

The red ring flew up, judging that what Zhou Yun said was correct.

Sure enough, it was the Blood God Khorne interfering in this matter; Zhou Yun's purpose was still unknown to the existences of the High Heaven.

But Baal is within the Scarlet Scar, and this place is deeply influenced by the Blood God; the gaze of the Blood God and his Greater Daemons is always fixed here, and Baal receives especially much attention.

Zhou Yun had not yet been noticed, but when he began to approach Sanguinius's remains, he would inevitably be watched by the Blood God.

"The power blocking me is a Greater Daemon under the Blood God." Zhou Yun asked again.

He did not name names, nor did he even try to describe the characteristics of that Greater Daemon, because doing so could very likely attract that Greater Daemon's gaze.

Ka'Bandha, the Bloodthirster under Khorne's throne, a fanatical solo-stan of Sanguinius, whose battle record included once crushing the Archangel's two legs.

But Sanguinius recovered, tore off its wings, and shattered its spine with his knee.

Since then, Ka'Bandha had fallen in love with—oh no, had been obsessed with—Sanguinius and the Blood Angels; just a short while ago, it had been banished once by the joint efforts of the Blood Angels and the Grey Knights.

Now, the most Blood Angels in ten thousand years were gathered on Baal; nearly thirty thousand Blood Angels had likely already attracted Ka'Bandha's gaze.

If nothing unexpected happened, it should already be attempting to enter the material universe now.

If it let it discover that Zhou Yun was trying to resurrect Sanguinius, this guy would definitely try every possible way to arrive.

However, to Zhou Yun's surprise, neither the red ring nor the blue cross on the table moved, which meant the question Zhou Yun asked had no distinction between true and false.

This left Zhou Yun slightly stunned.

Could there be more than one Khorne Greater Daemon? Not just Ka'Bandha?

Zhou Yun frowned slightly, then thought of a possibility.

"The power blocking me is a Greater Daemon and a Daemon Prince under the Blood God."

Khorne Greater Daemons, that is, Bloodthirsters, are native daemons of Khorne's realm and are among the most powerful of the Blood God's creations.

Khorne Daemon Princes are existences selected by the Blood God from the material world, granted Chaos blessings, and ascended.

Ka'Bandha, Skarbrand, and Ang'grath are Khorne Greater Daemons, while Angron and the Seed of Destruction are Khorne Daemon Princes.

The red ring on the table rose. A glimmer flashed in Zhou Yun's eyes.

It seemed it was as he had guessed. Not only Ka'Bandha, but Zhou Yun also had to face a Daemon Prince.

The Seed of Destruction was sealed by a group of Blood Angels inside a statue of Sanguinius about five thousand years ago and had not yet been unsealed.

As for those other, more minor Daemon Princes... given the Blood God's emphasis on Sanguinius, it was unlikely he would send them.

The most likely one was only... Sanguinius's brother, the Daemon Primarch Angron, Lord of the Red Sands, the Red Angel, the World Eaters Gene-Primarch.

Of course, he was also an honorary member of the Harlequin Troupe, the mount of the Butcher's Nails, and the Chosen of the Laughing God ascended by Khorne.

During the Siege of Terra, Sanguinius banished him; Angron would very likely follow the anger of ten thousand years ago, invade reality, and seek revenge on his brother.

Although his life was clownish and tragic, his brain was not very good, and he was often used as a stepping stone in battle records, a Daemon Primarch is still a Daemon Primarch.

Even if Sanguinius himself were alive, he would have to fight a bitter battle to win. Zhou Yun rubbed his brow slightly.

Ka'Bandha and Angron—one was difficult enough to deal with, and there were actually two.

Khorne was really going all out; two of his top combatants were taking action at the same time.

Even if Sanguinius were resurrected by then, it would be extremely difficult to confront Ka'Bandha and Angron relying on him alone.

For a moment, Zhou Yun even wanted to quickly find a star map and steal the sleeping beauty Lion El'Jonson from Caliban to Baal.

After stealing him, he would throw the Lion to Fenris and frame the Wolves.

"At least there have to be two Primarchs to count as a fair duel, right?" Zhou Yun could not help but mutter.

The star Adalia—this sun bound by the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's will and compressed by His psychic power—was burning hotly in the Shrine of the Holy Day, providing energy for this Blood Angels library.

Chief Librarian Mephiston, every time he passed through the Shrine of the Holy Day and looked at the star Adalia hanging in the chest of Sanguinius's statue, would always marvel at the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's powerful psychic strength.

He was actually able to compress a star to a diameter of more than ten meters, stably providing energy for the Blood Angels for ten thousand years without losing any mass.

Such a miracle, even for a powerful psyker like Mephiston, could not help but make him tremble, and he could not help but imagine the posture of the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang still walking among men.

But Mephiston was unwilling to stay in the Shrine of the Holy Day for long; he was accustomed to darkness, accustomed to the dead of night.

The scorching sun would make him feel his psychic power waning.

It was this gloominess that made many brothers of the Chapter fear him, and even loathe him.

Mephiston shook his head, passed through the Shrine of the Holy Day, and walked into the Tomb of Malefis.

The vast majority of battle-brothers lived in the Hall of Blood Coffins, but that was a place of life, unsuitable for Mephiston, who had returned from death.

He was a man of death; the Tomb of Malefis buried the corpses of most of the Blood Angels' Chief Librarians, so it was reasonable for Mephiston to live here.

In the pale coffins made of ivory, regular blood transfusions kept the corpses of the former Chief Librarians fresh.

Mephiston could almost feel the psychic echoes still existing within their bodies; he hoped to obtain inspiration from his predecessors.

The Hive Fleet was marching toward Baal, Chaos Warmaster Abaddon had attacked Cadia again, and a strange blue figure had appeared in the Underworld Shield system... Mephiston's psychic premonition kept sounding alarms.

He walked toward his stone coffin and lay into the velvet lining within.

The stone coffin slowly closed, blood surged within Mephiston's body, and darkness slowly enveloped this man who had returned from the Black Rage.

Fire, raging flames ignited in the darkness, and countless frenzied illusions presented themselves before Mephiston's eyes.

He suddenly realized that he was dreaming; this was extremely rare.

"Blood." A crisp voice rang in his ears, like a young girl's soft singing: "Fresh blood is flowing down on Cadia."

An ominous premonition welled up in Mephiston's heart, the illusions before his eyes rippled like water, gradually showing Mephiston a clear scene.

Black stones glowing with green light burst one by one before Mephiston's eyes, revealing a planet lying across a twisted rift.

Cadia and the Eye of Terror; Mephiston recognized that planet and that rift.

"Place of collapse, place of screaming, homeland and destruction." That voice rang in Mephiston's ears again, carrying sorrowful sobbing.

Mephiston saw countless warriors assembled on Cadia, more than those assembled on Baal.

Blood and violence, blasphemy and loyalty were spilled on Cadia; countless daemons and traitors poured out from the Eye of Terror, vowing to destroy Cadia and let blood, revenge, and fear pierce into the heart of the Empire.

The Black Legion was marching, the World Eaters roared and howled, the Iron Warriors forged blasphemous machines, the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's Children sank into lust and enjoyment, the Death Guard carried plagues and diseases, the Night Lords hung corpses on high towers, the Thousand Sons conjured ashes with magic, the Word Bearers chanted blasphemous scriptures again, and the Alpha Legion claimed they were always loyal.

The nine traitor legions returned to the world, wanting to reignite the war of ten thousand years ago.

Mephiston saw many fragmented scenes.

He saw a beast bathed in blood and fire roaring.

"Blood for the Blood God, skulls for the Skull Throne!" the beast roared.

He saw a robust Mechanicus Sage draped in red robes.

"I come for the true Lord of Macragge." the Mechanicus Sage said.

He saw the Lion sleeping on the Giant Stone slowly open his eyes.

"You are just old." someone said to the Lion.

He saw a blue figure holding a cane standing before the roaring Blood Child.

"Don't you want to know where Erebus is?" that figure asked the Blood Child with a chuckle.

He also saw a wooden stick hanging with white cloth tapping gently on a silver skull.

Every time it tapped, a soul fire ignited in the Warp.

"Praise the Machine God, praise the Dora Machine God..." The sound of praise was endless.

Gu, there are too many comments, I haven't finished organizing them yet. Wait until I finish organizing and sorting them out, then I'll post the results in the discussion area and in tomorrow's chapter. Also, I finished painting Dante as a prize, and posted it in the discussion area. The Blood Angels hero blind box will be delivered tomorrow.
