Chapter 180: Lictor: Guh! Just kill me!
The neuro-Lictor raised its head in slight confusion and looked around.
The psychic power and pulsed electromagnetic waves released by its swollen brain instantly made it realize where it was.
Angel's Fortress! The council chamber of the prey! Five hundred creatures that had undergone genetic modification and enhancement, known as Astartes!
It had indeed wanted to infiltrate Angel's Fortress to turn the tide of the war at a critical moment.
But the timing now was clearly wrong! The location was also wrong!
Not only did the Lictor not understand the situation, but the Astartes in the Red Grand Council Chamber did not understand it either.
An alien had appeared inexplicably in the Red Grand Council Chamber?
If you want to talk about shock, it was indeed shocking, but if you want to talk about danger...
There were five hundred Blood Angel Chapter Masters, Chief Librarians, and Captains standing in the council chamber, and nearly five hundred bolters were aimed at this blasphemous alien psyker.
Never mind a neuro-Lictor; even if a Hive Tyrant came, it would perish here.
Although they did not understand the situation, at least a hundred years of combat experience allowed these warriors to react quickly and pull the triggers.
In an instant, it was as if hundreds of thunderclaps exploded in the Red Grand Council Chamber. The entire building shook, and nearly five hundred bolter rounds turned into a burning rain of fire, shooting toward the neuro-Lictor in the center of the round table.
The neuro-Lictor hurriedly let out a sharp, angry roar. Psychic light burst from the massive brain matter beneath its head crest. In an instant, it blurred the boundary between reality and the Warp, and almost drained the neuro-Lictor's remaining meager psychic energy.
A solid, semi-circular psychic shield surrounded the neuro-Lictor. The bullets that touched this shield were like they had fallen into a swamp, instantly becoming slow and creating ripples on the psychic shield.
Nerves collided in the Lictor's brain, bursting one by one, and pale blue sludge spilled down along its head crest.
Resisting Mephiston's psychic power, Zhou Yun's sudden attack, and the volley of five hundred Astartes—even for a neuro-Lictor with extremely strong psychic power, it had almost reached its limit.
It turned its head to look at the pinkish-red wooden door it had come through, but that wooden door had disappeared at some point.
The neuro-Lictor could only use the pulsed electromagnetic waves in its brain to find the weak point of the Red Grand Council Chamber, intending to break through from there——————
"Alien!!!!"
Before the neuro-Lictor could even begin to act, a terrifying roar filled with bloody aura rang out from the hall.
Yoll of the Blood Knights let out a roar that was almost beast-like. His silver-red power armor, stained with dried blood, was exceptionally terrifying, and the blood-red hunger seeping from it circled among the descendants of Sanguinius.
Yoll transformed into a cruel, scarlet shadow, sweeping across the entire hall. His blood-stained chainsword roared in anger, venting his fury toward the alien.
The roaring chainsword slashed heavily onto the psychic shield the Lictor had propped up. In an instant, the entire psychic shield let out a wail.
This creation from the power of the Warp ultimately could not withstand the fury of Sanguinius's descendants and dissipated into streams of light.
The neuro-Lictor roared and hurriedly turned around, raising its two small, pale-purple scythe-like claws.
Yet Yoll of the Blood Knights was more savage, manic, fearless, and cunning than it.
He almost let the neuro-Lictor's claws pierce into his power armor, and then, taking advantage of this brief gap, pushed his chainsword heavily toward the Lictor with both hands.
The alien's blasphemous, corrosive blood spurted from the neuro-Lictor's chest, splashing onto Yoll's silver-red power armor and emitting trails of corrosive white smoke.
But Yoll did not care. Some of the alien blood splashed onto his helmet and seeped in through the breathing holes, but Yoll seemed to suffer no harm, instead letting out roars filled with excitement, as if the alien's blood made him hyper.
"Shriek!!!" The neuro-Lictor let out a wail; its body was almost about to be severed.
But it seemed to notice something and used all its strength to stab its two claws toward the helmet Yoll never took off.
Yoll dodged instinctively, letting out a cry of fear, and the chainsword in his hand was pulled out from the neuro-Lictor's abdomen.
"Yoll!!!" Dante's roar rang out. The meltagun in his hand roared, and the neuro-Lictor's two claws snapped off in response.
The neuro-Lictor fell heavily to the ground. It let out a sharp cry, and a burst of sludge exploded from its head, releasing a powerful psychic wave in an instant.
That psychic wave, capable of awakening fear, surged into the minds of every Blood Angel in an instant.
The Lictor had specifically tuned this psychic wave so that every Blood Angel would see the scene they feared most.
"I f*** your Primarch's dermatitis! Traitor!"
"Sanguinius's descendants never fear!"
"Kill!!! Horus!!! That's Horus!!"
But this seemed to have the opposite effect. In the brief physical stiffness, Sanguinius's descendants instead seemed to have their anger awakened, roaring and charging toward the neuro-Lictor on the ground.
In his fury, the Chapter Master of the Crimson Blades even pulled out the master-crafted power sword from his waist and threw it like a javelin at the neuro-Lictor.
The Lictor could not dodge in time and had half its tail cut off directly by the power sword.
An expression that could be called "dumbfounded" appeared on the neuro-Lictor's alien face.
Since landing on this planet, everything that had happened was so inexplicable, so difficult to understand.
Damn it! Why are things on Baal always so terrible?!
The psychic light on the neuro-Lictor's head flickered. It intended to squeeze itself one last time, burning part of the flesh in its body to forcibly gain contact with the Genestealers within the Hive Fortress, extracting their centuries of faith to mobilize the power in the Warp, thereby gaining a chance to escape.
But just at this moment, that pinkish-red wooden door appeared again.
A hand reached out from the wooden door, grabbing toward the dying neuro-Lictor on the ground——————
The neuro-Lictor jumped up from the ground like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, its mangled body lunging toward Yoll, the Chapter Master of the Blood Knights, who was closest to it, as if seeking death voluntarily. Yoll also noticed the hand reaching out from the pinkish-red wooden door, and he instinctively thought it was also an enemy.
"Don't even think about it!!!" Yoll roared.
The chainsword in Yoll's hand roared as it slashed toward that hand.
Yet that hand flipped as if performing magic, and a plastic toy short sword flickering with a faint golden light appeared in his hand.
Boom!!!!
Even deep in fury, Yoll and the other Blood Angels could not help but marvel at that exquisite swordsmanship.
That toy short sword blocked Yoll's attack in an extremely clever way and then gently flicked Yoll's chainsword away.
Subsequently, that hand reached out toward the neuro-Lictor, which was trying to lunge toward Yoll's chainsword to commit suicide, with lightning speed.
But that hand was much faster than the Lictor's mangled body. The hand gripped the Lictor's half-severed tail and dragged it toward the pinkish-red wooden door.
The neuro-Lictor struggled and let out a roar, squeezing the last bit of psychic power from its almost shriveled brain tissue.
A roar of anger from the Lictor rang in the ears of almost every Blood Angel.
That roar seemed to be cursing the Blood Angels for why they didn't kill it quickly.
But this left the Blood Angels in a brief state of confusion.
Having killed the enemies of humanity all their lives, they had never heard such a request.
The Lictor's hindquarters were dragged into the Anywhere Door. It struggled, wanting to hook the door with its severed arm, but the power of that hand was so great that in less than a second or two, this Lictor was dragged into that pinkish-red wooden door.
In an instant, the Red Grand Council Chamber fell quiet again.
Sanguinius's descendants, having calmed down from their fury, looked at the shattered marble table and the blood on the floor in confusion.
"What was that pinkish-red wooden door?!"
!. Read
"I think I've seen it. I heard the followers of that Saint Doraemon cult on Baal II say that the Saint Doraemon they worship walked out of that door."
"No, no, I heard the Death-Worshippers on the main planet of Baal say that it is a divine artifact carried by the Chosen of the Death God they worship, capable of going anywhere. In addition, there is a cane that can find the location of anyone. Together, they symbolize that death is inescapable."
"We Flesh Tearers have seen that wooden door on Baal..."
For a time, the hall was filled with low murmurs.
Only one Astartes warrior wearing red and white power armor was looking down at the ground in confusion, searching for something.
"Where is my sword?"
"Where is my master-crafted power sword??"
"That is my Chapter relic!!! My 'Blade of Haldros'! Where did my power sword go!!"
Kaen, Chapter Master of the Crimson Blades, raised his head in grief and indignation, letting out a roar.
The warriors present looked at Kaen in confusion.
Only Dante, standing on the platform with a rough guess as to what had happened, had his mouth twitch.
In the deserts of Baal, Zhou Yun stuffed the neuro-Lictor into the four-dimensional pocket on his stomach with satisfaction.
Mephiston, standing to the side, looked away, not daring to watch the process of this Warp sub-god eating.
But suddenly, Mephiston saw a silver light flash. He saw Zhou Yun take out a shining master-crafted power longsword from somewhere, the blade inlaid with exquisite gems, designed in the style of three drops of blood being sprinkled into a skull cup.
"... Isn't this the 'Blade of Haldros', the relic of the Crimson Blades Chapter? A precious heirloom named after their Chapter's home planet."
Zhou Yun blinked in confusion upon hearing this, but his movement of stuffing the power sword into the four-dimensional pocket did not stop for a second.
"I just thought it was a pity to throw it on the ground. I figured they might not want it anymore."
"What a waste, don't you think?"
Zhou Yun sighed and shook his head.
Mephiston's expression stiffened slightly upon hearing this, and he hurriedly touched the soul sword Vitalus at his waist.
