Chapter 191: Kicking Ka'bandha
"Why are you so obsessed with the Legion structure?" Mephiston asked, his eye twitching slightly as he listened to the conversation between Zhou Yun and Corbulo.
He was terrified that if he spoke too slowly, Zhou Yun would decide to impose the plan on him.
Zhou Yun chuckled and shook his head; even if the Legion structure were restored, it shouldn't be Dante, Mephiston, or Corbulo serving as the command center.
After all, a certain Primarch was still waiting for resurrection in the form of sauce beneath the Angel's Fortress. No matter what form the Ninth Legion's structure took upon its restoration, the identity of the Legion Master would undoubtedly be his.
After all, no one would be so suicidal as to snatch the Legion Master position from a Primarch, right?
Unless that Primarch voluntarily handed over command, the position of Legion Master would certainly remain his. He shouldn't really dump everything on someone like Dante, should he?
As for why Zhou Yun was considering the matter of the Legion structure...
"I might just be planning to organize the Ninth Legion to march on Terra and have a heart-to-heart with the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang about the stakes," Zhou Yun said in a half-joking tone.
Mephiston nearly spat out the bitter red wine in his mouth, and Corbulo's eyes widened.
"You really do love to joke," Mephiston said, taking a deep breath and patting his chest.
Corbulo hurriedly scanned his surroundings, ensuring no one else had heard Zhou Yun's words.
The Blood Angels did not entirely view the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang as a god, but such blasphemous words involving rebellion were still unsettling.
Zhou Yun's mouth twitched slightly; in truth, he was not joking.
According to his previous discussions with the winged figure in the white light, the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang Himself might have encountered some issues; His condition might not be quite right.
In the normal timeline known to Zhou Yun, only Guilliman had faced the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, but Guilliman himself was resisting his own Warp nature and might not have been able to discover the problems with the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang.
After Sanguinius was resurrected, Zhou Yun would inevitably accompany him to Terra to determine the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's condition. If the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang had truly lost control or become some kind of terrifying existence, Zhou Yun and Sanguinius might even stand on the opposite side of the Imperium.
If it truly came to that point, a Legion-level Astartes force would appear particularly important. Zhou Yun even felt that pulling together a few Successor Chapters to create a Third Imperium would not be out of the question.
But the problem with Baal was that the population on these three wasteland planets could support a Chapter, but they could no longer support a Legion.
The Blood Angels needed their own Greater Ultramar.
What Zhou Yun had just said was meant to serve as a psychological preparation for the three high-ranking Blood Angels—well, to give them an expectation for their future overtime life.
Seeming to sense that the things Zhou Yun was contemplating were becoming increasingly blasphemous and dangerous, Mephiston hurriedly spoke up: "The Librarius has already begun preparations. What about your side?"
Zhou Yun slowly raised his head; he knew Mephiston was talking about the matter of Ka'bandha.
Corbulo cast a strange look, seemingly puzzled as to what Zhou Yun and Mephiston were planning to do.
"We are going to summon Ka'bandha into the material universe, kick his big red ass hard, and then make him disappear from this world entirely," Zhou Yun said airily to Corbulo.
He was not worried about his and Mephiston's plan leaking or being directly discovered by Ka'bandha.
If it were another Greater Daemon, it might play tricks or evade, but what Zhou Yun and Mephiston were doing now was equivalent to issuing a challenge to Ka'bandha.
A Khorne Greater Daemon would not refuse a magnificent battle or abandon a head worth severing.
Not to mention Zhou Yun's own head, Mephiston's head alone was likely enough for the Greater Daemon to fulfill its skull KPI for who knows how many years.
Ka'bandha would definitely come; he would never retreat.
"You are joking again," Corbulo said with a laugh.
"... I am not joking." "We are serious."
Zhou Yun and Mephiston nodded almost in unison, and Corbulo's expression turned somewhat stiff in an instant.
"Dante should know." "The Chapter Master has agreed in principle."
Looking at Corbulo's stiff expression, the two spoke again in unison.
In reality, Dante had only permitted Mephiston to use any method he deemed effective and did not know the specific details of the plan.
Zhou Yun and Mephiston also believed it was better not to tell him the specific details.
After all, the Chapter Master only needed to see the results; the Warp duo had much more to consider.
Thinking of this, Zhou Yun glanced into his Four-Dimensional Pocket.
Those Chapter relics that could be used in conjunction with items in the upcoming operation were kept by Zhou Yun, while the rest were sold directly.
Added to the wool he had sheared from Mephiston, he had almost gathered enough money to exchange for that item and the Adaptation Lamp.
Of course, he still had to make another trip to the Shrine of the Holy Day belonging to the Blood Angels Librarians; the true key to the entire plan lay within it.
The Shrine of the Holy Day, the Four-Dimensional Pocket, and the Hive Mind—these three parts were all indispensable.
The prisoners in the Tower of the Lost were roaring, screaming to drink blood, their hunger laced with sorrow. The Scarlet Scar hung low over the Tower of the Lost, as if it were a wound torn by the fangs of prisoners trapped in the Red Thirst.
This sight faintly awakened the Sanguinius Rage within Seth, and he felt his blood almost burning.
The cold wind of the Baal night blew across Seth's helmetless face, grazing those ferocious muscle lines. Standing beside the high tower, Seth looked like a statue of blood and black igneous rock, carved out piece by piece by Baal's sharp, cold wind, becoming a towering, gaunt gargoyle.
Gabriel Seth was a head taller than most Space Marines, yet he was also much leaner, his features sharp to the point of being terrifying. Mortals therefore viewed him as the embodiment of cruelty. Oh, except for those refugees from Laixi; those somewhat superstitious herdsmen called Gabriel Seth the "Cursed by Blood," but there was no mockery in this, only deep respect.
Many Flesh Tearers had died on Laixi, both normal warriors and Death Company. The people of Laixi therefore respected Seth, and even built a settlement named after him.
This was what Seth craved: to trade sacrifice for honor, to trade death for remembrance, to trade their blood for the blood of more people, rather than the other way around.
His and his Chapter's reputation had improved, but the vast majority of his blood kin still viewed Seth as a burden, an angry monster, a beast that might attack its own battle-brothers.
Gabriel Seth also despised them; that group seemed to possess a kind of arrogance, believing they would never be affected by the curse.
The Flesh Tearers were far more cautious than most Chapters, yet they still could not escape the hunt of the curse.
In Seth's view, denying the existence of the curse was equivalent to denying what they were, denying the Sanguine blood in their veins.
However, Seth would not beg for the sympathy of his blood kin; sympathy made Seth feel disgusted. He and his kind did not crave salvation.
They only wanted war, to use their rage in war, and then sacrifice.
At least now the people of Laixi would remember him, Seth thought silently.
But few who survived on Laixi remained; they might all perish in the Battle of Baal.
Seth understood those herdsmen; they craved revenge.
He could not help but exhale a stream of air filled with the scent of fresh blood, continuing to walk along the high tower.

Then he saw a Sanguinary Guard warrior guarding the top of the high tower.
The Sanguinary Guard—they were elite veterans, the Chapter Master's honor guard. All successor chapters flowing with the blood of Sanguinius retained such units.
But only the Blood Angels' Sanguinary Guard were the continuation of the former Primarch's guard. The golden power armor they wore was even a relic from the Great Crusade era; their wearers had once fought side-by-side with the Archangel, and the craftsmanship used to create them had long since been lost.
These warriors also carried jump packs, a special version; the wings on their backs were precisely modeled after the Archangel.
Seth narrowed his eyes slightly. Such precious warriors... Dante would send them out to perform patrol duties?
He slowly approached the warrior. The Sanguinary Guard sensed Dante's aura and placed a hand on the hilt of the crimson blade at his waist.
"... Lord Seth?" The member of the Sanguinary Guard recognized Seth and calmly blocked the path.
Seth could not help but reveal a smile; in his mind, he could not help but simulate the scene of himself tearing this warrior's body apart.
He could do it, even if his preparation was not as thorough as this Sanguinary Guard's, even if it was extremely challenging.
Yet Seth still chose to speak, his voice revealing the wildness and pressure unique to the Flesh Tearers: "What does Dante want you to do?"
The Sanguinary Guard seemed to sense Seth's alertness.
Seth's gaze swept across the Sanguinary Guard before him, simultaneously noticing that there were his companions on the high tower to the side.
More than one Sanguinary Guard... What exactly was Dante doing?
"I mean no offense," the member of the Sanguinary Guard said, his voice tightening: "Lord Dante ordered me to guard this place."
A flash of blood-red crossed Seth's eyes. He stared at the member of the Sanguinary Guard, but the warrior only trembled slightly. Seth's mouth could not help but reveal a smile, acknowledging the warrior's courage.
But he had to know what Dante wanted to do—
"Let him pass," Dante's slightly weary voice sounded behind Gabriel Seth.
Seth had barely sensed Dante's approach... He once again understood Dante's respectability and strength.
The member of the Sanguinary Guard yielded the path for Seth and Dante. Dante walked in front, signaling for Seth to follow.
Seth stood at the edge of the high tower, looking down.
He saw blood slaves, a Sanguinary Priest, and... ten scouts?
Ten young warriors stood beside a Stormraven gunship. These warriors had not yet been fully recognized as members of the Blood Chapter; theoretically, they had completed most of the augmentations but had not yet been implanted with the Black Carapace—this required them to prove their worth in the Scout Company.
However, Seth noticed the surgical scars on their bodies; clearly, they had already been implanted with the Black Carapace.
But what Seth truly cared about was the cargo they were loading onto the Stormraven.
"You sent away your gene-seed," Seth said, exhaling a breath of blood-scented air.
