Chapter 203: The Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's Secret

~10 min read 1,912 words

Zhou Yun stood by the side of this ancient river, looking at the silent youth before him.

The youth did not speak, merely gazing at the pale bone rod in his hands. As if struck by a thought, he drew a small knife from his waist.

He used this knife to gently carve the white bone in his hands. The bone was carved into shape, resembling a ship or a vessel.

Zhou Yun vaguely recognized it as an Imperial-style starship.

The youth gently picked up the toy he had carved, held it high to sweep across the sky, and then threw it with force.

The toy ship tore through the sky, and before it even landed, it transformed into a starship galloping through the galaxy. Countless macro-cannons and lances fired in unison, lighting up the entire world like stars.

The youth watched this scene with sorrow, watching the countless lives among the stars die because of the starship he had carved, and countless worlds destroyed by his creation.

"I once thought I would bring prosperity and order to humanity," the youth said softly.

Then, the scene before Zhou Yun changed, and he arrived in a village.

This village was composed of simple mud huts of various sizes, situated beside golden wheat fields under the twilight. Children played among them, and adults chatted and exchanged words.

Occasionally, two or three dogs chased each other, and sometimes the wind gently caressed the small trees in the village.

The youth arrived holding his father's skull.

He used clay to carve his father's wool from his lifetime onto the skull, and used shells traded from fishermen to fill in the eyes.

The youth stroked the rough cracks on his father's skull; he could see everything.

In the swaying wheat fields, one human killed another.

The youth held his father's skull and walked barefoot straight toward his uncle's hut.

The pack of dogs running in the village seemed to sense something; they let out a low whine.

A crow landed on the eaves, twisting its head to stare at this moment.

Carrion flies buzzed, waiting to feed.

A late-autumn snake also poked its head out from its hole.

The youth's uncle was sitting outside the door. The man had become old and dark-skinned from years of labor, sitting outside the mud hut like a thin, long ghost, stringing beads together to make a necklace for his daughter.

The youth's uncle raised his head slightly and called the youth's name, but Zhou Yun could not hear it clearly.

The youth merely held his father's skull high, staring at his uncle without anger or sympathy.

Everything happened in an instant, the moment his uncle set his eyes on his brother's skull.

The youth's uncle collapsed, clutching his chest full of deceit, a hideous pain appearing on his weathered face. The necklace in his hands fell to the ground, shattering into beads.

People's terrified wails, screams, and cries resounded through this ancient village. They wailed in some primitive language belonging to the Indo-European family.

The youth, however, merely stood there calmly, watching his uncle on the verge of death due to cardiac arrest.

His uncle opened his mouth in pain, but what came out was not a wail, but a whisper that made one feel cold.

"The Dark King awaits you, Your Majesty," his uncle whispered before he died.

Zhou Yun stood to the side, watching this scene silently, showing an expression of interest.

It seemed the matter of the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's uncle killing the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's father was far more complex than imagined; he actually knew of the Dark King's existence.

Thinking back, after the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang of that time heard this name, he would be wary of the Dark King for the next forty thousand years, only he had not expected...

"I once thought I would bring prosperity and order to humanity."

The youth spoke again:

"... But in the end, I became the Dark King, the destroyer of worlds."

"Who can understand what you're saying!"

Zhou Yun raised an eyebrow and said:

"Or are you Krishna or Oppenheimer?"

The youth was silent, merely gazing at Zhou Yun.

"... What is your purpose in showing me these things? I have no interest in B. C. family ethics dramas. I'm more curious if you've ever sold your soul?"

As a transmigrator who had crossed into the Warhammer universe, coupled with some things the winged figure in the white light had said earlier, Zhou Yun only had doubts upon doubts facing the youth before him. Heaven knows what he was planning.

"Return to Terra, our homeland."

The youth merely spoke in a low voice:

"I am waiting for you at the Imperial Palace."

Zhou Yun clutched his head, struggling slightly as he climbed up from the crystal floor of the Heart of Baal.

His head was slightly dizzy; the scene he had just seen was still echoing in his mind.

The Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, the figure of the young Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, had suddenly appeared in his mind, seemingly giving him something, and then hoping Zhou Yun would go to the Terra Imperial Palace.

Zhou Yun frowned. Could this weasel be setting a trap for him?

Thinking of this, he glanced at the winged figure in the white light at the corner of his eye.

His power seemed to have still not recovered enough to pierce the barrier between reality and the Warp; Zhou Yun still could not hear what he was saying.

Regardless, he would have to wait until he was resurrected before Zhou Yun could consider going to Terra. Heaven knows what the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang was planning, and it was hard to say if the current Hua Hua Hua Di Huang even had a clear mind.

The Hua Hua Hua Di Huang Zhou Yun saw in the hallucination just now was somewhat dim-witted.

Suddenly, Zhou Yun noticed something extra in his Four-Dimensional Pocket.

He looked closely and saw a hazy figure curled up inside, appearing both virtual and real.

"Childcare Program: Child Behavior Correction and Re-education Progress: 88%"

"No additional childcare materials can be added."

That figure was sturdy, wearing an orange-yellow interwoven striped top and brown pants. It looked just like Fatty?

And Zhou Yun vaguely felt a breath of Ka'Bandha on that figure resembling Fatty, just like...

Just like the Four-Dimensional Pocket had reshaped a new Greater Daemon out of Ka'Bandha. A Greater Daemon belonging to Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun's expression was slightly strange. Could it really be as Mephiston and the winged figure in the white light said, that he was essentially a Warp god? Otherwise, how could he even have a Greater Daemon?

Zhou Yun's attention couldn't help but focus on the "Fatty" in his pocket. In an instant, Zhou Yun felt his consciousness overlap with it, as if it were essentially an extension of Zhou Yun's soul and consciousness, a part of his existence. Then Zhou Yun felt the impulses surging from this body composed of Warp power.

The impulse of anger, coming from Ka'Bandha, from the Blood God's realm.

Simple justice, coming from the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, from the part of the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang thrown to Zhou Yun.

The greed of plunder, coming from Zhou Yun, from the realm of Greed Dissolution.

But now, it was still missing a little bit for its birth, missing a song.

Zhou Yun raised an eyebrow slightly. Could it be that Zhou Yun should go and catch another Slaanesh daemon to stuff inside?

Is Fatty composed of Khorne as the base, then adding the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, Greed Dissolution, and Slaanesh?

Has his golden finger evolved? Can it produce Greater Daemons?

Or is it that his Warp essence, as the winged figure in the white light said, has further awakened? Or is it that even Zhou Yun's Four-Dimensional Pocket, this golden finger itself, is actually a manifestation of his Warp essence?

Zhou Yun frowned tightly. No matter how he thought about it, the Four-Dimensional Pocket didn't look like a creation of this universe, yet this golden finger of Zhou Yun's could interact with the Warp. He vaguely felt it was somewhat strange.

But he was not an expert in Warp matters, so he could only temporarily suppress the doubts in his heart, intending to ask the resurrected Sanguinius later.

Zhou Yun nodded toward Mephiston standing to the side, took out the Anywhere Door from the Four-Dimensional Pocket, and whispered to the Anywhere Door:

"Angel Fortress."

Seth stood on the high tower of Angel Fortress, looking at the scene before him with a solemn expression.

More than ten Flesh Tearer warriors he had carefully selected stood by his side.

The violet void shield was roaring and operating, layers upon layers of light covering the outside of Angel Fortress, like a bubble shimmering with floating light.

And outside the bubble, a silver-gray mist rose in the moat, like water vapor evaporated from the Water of Hunger.

Seth remembered a guess that the Flesh Tearer Chief Librarian Scaban had once told him: the Water of Hunger was essentially nanomachines from the Dark Age of Technology, which, after losing control, only retained the instinct to absorb water and self-replicate.

Now, these ancient nanomachines seemed to have been awakened, circling above the moat, turning into a silver-gray storm.

A slight trembling sound arose, as if the nanomachines were whispering, letting out their first roar in ten thousand years.

That silver-gray storm began to move, spreading like mist in all directions of the moat, like dark clouds falling from the sky.

Sizzle!!!!

A sizzling sound arose in mid-air, and the silver-gray storm whistled, swallowing the swarm. The Tyranid creatures that came into contact with that mist were rapidly dehydrated, their bodies becoming shriveled and falling into the sand.

In an instant, the entire surroundings of Angel Fortress were swallowed by this silver-gray storm, and the roars of Tyranid creatures constantly came from the storm.

No matter how terrifying the behemoth, the moment it touched this silver-gray storm, it would turn into a dried corpse, while those silver-gray storms continued to expand by seizing water.

For a time, from Seth's perspective, the entire Angel Fortress seemed to be wrapped in a layer of silver-gray clouds.

Ten minutes later, these silver-gray storms suddenly stopped in mid-air, instantly turning into countless raindrops falling, re-settling into the Water of Hunger, sprinkling the entire desert outside Angel Fortress, leaving behind silver pools and countless shriveled swarm corpses.

The machines that had slept for tens of thousands of years suddenly briefly recovered their function. Seth watched this scene, unable to help but frown slightly.

He remembered the mission Dante had given him.

"Is it the help of Saint Doraemon?" Seth's frown deepened: "Could it really be some dark Warp god? Is its power actually so terrifying?"

Seth couldn't help but grip the chainsword in his hand.

He calculated the time and nodded to the dozen or so Flesh Tearer warriors behind him.

They followed Seth to the bottom of the high tower, the depths of Angel Fortress.

A wooden door with a pinkish-red hue appeared in place.

The wooden door slowly opened, and Zhou Yun and Mephiston walked out from the door, followed by several Librarians who still had strength remaining.

"Seth?" Zhou Yun's mouth curled into a smile: "So Dante had you follow us?"
