Chapter 252
At the summit of the snow-capped mountain not far from the expeditionary force,
an Anywhere Door opened. Zhou Yun stepped out quickly and gazed into the distance at the Mountain of the Crone.
The Black Legion was currently clashing with the expeditionary force at the mountainside.
Belisarius Cawl was fighting hard amidst the dwindling battle, fighting for that goal which seemed increasingly impossible to achieve.
The Living Saint Celestine was clashing with Abaddon. If one were to set aside her ability to resurrect, this Living Saint was barely a match for Abaddon in a single exchange.
Xiang Xiang Leina was also leading the Cadian 184th Regiment to hold off the assault of the Kastelan Robots, but the Cadian 184th were mortals after all; how could they withstand the ancient veterans of the Black Legion's Long War?
The battle at the foot of the mountain was equally intense. Zhou Yun had just brought reinforcements to Captain Kaelen.
Nearly a thousand Blood Angels were occupying the former fortress of the Aeldari, holding back the vast army of the Black Legion.
The forces that could be transported by teleportation technology were limited; the majority of the Black Legion warriors still had to rely on physical means to reach Crassus.
And the Aeldari fortress occupied by nearly a thousand Blood Angels had become an uncrossable rock for them.
Then, Zhou Yun's gaze turned toward the mountain peak.
At the summit of the Mountain of the Crone stood a shattered structure. Those ruins were filled with the delicate and elegant style of the Aeldari, carved with all manner of mysterious runes and diagrams.
That was a Webway Gate.
Just then, that Webway Gate erupted with light. Wisps of spirit fire roared across the ancient structure. The Webway Gate, which had slept for ten thousand years, shrieked between the Warp and reality.
The Webway Gate opened. A series of creatures dressed in magnificent attire, as slender as elves in the snow, walked out from the Webway Gate.
Among this alien army, some were dressed like pirates, some looked like clowns, and others looked like elegant warriors in luxurious clothing.
Their leader was a woman wearing a long gown, with snow-white hair, holding a silver-blue bone sword.
Beside the woman stood a swordsman clad in scarlet armor.
Aeldari, Ynnari.
"Finally here," Zhou Yun said in a low voice. He took the famous blade, the Electro-Dian Guang Wan, out of his fourth-dimensional pocket and stepped into the Anywhere Door.
The air solidified in an instant. Everyone looked with disbelief between Xiang Xiang Leina and Abaddon.
A mortal man had suddenly appeared, blocking Abaddon's daemon sword, Drach'nyen, with nothing but a toy sword made of plastic.
"Zhou Yun!!" Xiang Xiang Leina shouted, excited yet unsurprised. Her whole body seemed to heave a sigh of relief.
"Who is that?!" Greyfax watched this scene with astonishment.
Belisarius Cawl vaguely sensed that the nearby machine spirits seemed to have begun to grow agitated.
And among the Cadian 184th Regiment, those warriors who had come from the gangs of the Ashford Hive, a burst of enthusiastic cheering erupted.
"It's Boss Zhou Yun! Boss Zhou Yun has come to save us!"
"So the hope and salvation Saint Celestine spoke of was Boss Zhou Yun!"
"Quack! Boss Zhou Yun, hurry up and beat Abaddon to a pulp! Let him know the power of Saint Doraemon!"
"Sanguinius above, Boss Zhou Yun is definitely going to drag Abaddon back to the Hive to be a star-slave!"
"As long as Boss Zhou Yun activates those magical gadgets, everything will be fine!"
"Saint Doraemon above!"
Many of these warriors had once fought side-by-side with Zhou Yun, and had even witnessed Zhou Yun sprouting wings like Sanguinius to slay a Brain Bug.
Moreover, on the way to Cadia, Xiang Xiang Leina had told them all of Zhou Yun's aliases.
Leman Russ, Neos, Saint Doraemon.
Abaddon violently pulled back his daemon sword, Drach'nyen, and looked at the daemon sword with anger.
Although Drach'nyen had taken the form of a sword to be used by Abaddon, Abaddon could not truly command Drach'nyen; how much power it exerted was entirely up to Drach'nyen itself.
But even so, Drach'nyen couldn't just fool him, Abaddon, like this, could it??
A mortal, holding a toy sword, had blocked the mighty Greater Daemon Drach'nyen, born from the first murder in human history??
However, a wave of confusion emanated from the daemon sword.
Drach'nyen admitted that it hadn't exerted much power most of the time, but the power it had just exerted was no different from usual.
It went on to question whether it was Abaddon's problem, mocking Abaddon by asking if he had been abandoned by the Four Gods.
Abaddon was confused at first, then his expression darkened slightly.
If it wasn't Drach'nyen's problem, and it wasn't his own problem, then it could only be that the mortal before him was the problem.
Abaddon lunged forward a step toward the mortal, held high the Drach'nyen in his hand, and swung it down heavily.
A profane arc swirling with the intent of death descended, and the famous blade, the Electro-Dian Guang Wan, in Zhou Yun's hand also traced an arc.
The daemon sword and the toy sword collided; the dark blue death and the pale golden electric light clashed.
The sound of sword clashing against sword rang out incessantly across the snowfield. Zhou Yun's blade always parried Abaddon's attacks at just the right moment, as if he were toying with Abaddon.
Abaddon was momentarily dazed.
He didn't know how many years it had been since he had felt this way.
Who was the last person who could achieve this level of swordsmanship?
Was it Sigismund? But even Sigismund couldn't parry Drach'nyen's attacks perfectly every time.
Watching the clash of swordsmanship between Zhou Yun and Abaddon, the entire snowfield fell into a brief silence.
Greyfax seized the opportunity, and after using her psychic powers to shatter the head of a Black Legionnaire, she hurriedly grabbed a warrior of the Cadian 184th Regiment.
"Who exactly is that man fighting Abaddon?"
Greyfax had sensed from the roars of the 184th Regiment just now that they knew that mortal named Zhou Yun. Like the Cadian 184th, he was from Ashford.
"Inquisitor?"
The warrior who was grabbed was startled. Upon hearing Greyfax's words, a look of pride immediately appeared on his face.
"That is our Ashford Underhive Viceroy, the true boss of the Ark Gang,"
"the Destroyer of the Underhive, the lifelong enemy of the Genestealers, the shadow of the mutants,"
"the one the Tyranids cannot defeat, the dark pocket that devours the swarm, the champion of the Cadian 184th Regiment,"
"the Sure-Hit Gun, the leader of the Death-Worshipping Cult, the great Chosen of Death, the Primordial Power, the Eternal Dragon,"
"the holy Saint Doraemon, Leman Russ, Neos, Lord Zhou Yun."
Greyfax looked somewhat confused at Zhou Yun, who was currently fighting Abaddon.
How strange.
Why did she only see one person?
The Ashford warrior of the Cadian 184th Regiment glanced at the somewhat confused Greyfax.
He immediately remembered the teachings of Teacher Lage and understood that this was the time to run.
The warrior hurriedly dodged away from Greyfax and continued to throw himself into the battlefield.
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
"You call yourself the Despoiler?"
"You might as well change your name to the Great Loser!"
"Damn it, a primitive man with a stone tool could fight better than you!"
Abaddon gritted his teeth, enduring the scolding of the daemon sword Drach'nyen.
Drach'nyen told Abaddon very clearly that that sword was just an ordinary toy sword, nothing special about it.
Its power output hadn't decreased either; if he couldn't win, it must be because Abaddon was too weak!
Abaddon finally couldn't endure Drach'nyen's mockery anymore, and said those words to Drach'nyen in his mind.
"If you're so good, you do it!" Abaddon roared almost in anger.
"I will!" Drach'nyen agreed without hesitation.
Then Abaddon felt the power of the daemon sword in his hand suddenly increase, several times stronger than before, and the power was still rising continuously.
He was shocked.
How much had Drach'nyen been fooling him usually? Was this its true power?
Then Abaddon felt a guidance coming from Drach'nyen, directing his arm to begin moving.
Abaddon's swordsmanship suddenly became tricky and strange, filled with terrifying killing intent.
The first axe was for chopping wood, the first spear was for hunting beasts, the first dagger was for skinning hides.
But the sword was different.
The first sword ever crafted by humans from stone was for killing their own kind.
Abaddon saw it.
In a wheat field, the first murder was taking place.
One human killed another human, brother killed brother.
Abaddon let out a wild laugh. His body moved at an extremely fast speed, and the blade in his hand traced a strange sword arc far beyond what the material universe allowed.
The sword light was filled with pure killing intent.
Drach'nyen, the Death of Humanity.
There was no human that Drach'nyen could not kill.
"Die," Abaddon said to Zhou Yun.
And then,
the famous blade, the Electro-Dian Guang Wan, in Zhou Yun's hand also traced a strange arc, lightly blocking before Drach'nyen, silently parrying the daemon sword.
Abaddon looked somewhat dazed and embarrassed at the daemon sword Drach'nyen in his hand.
The human face on the sword also looked at Abaddon with embarrassment and confusion.
"If you're weak, practice more," Zhou Yun said to Abaddon and the daemon sword Drach'nyen with a sincere expression.
Abaddon's expression twisted violently, followed by an uncontrollable anger.
Even greater power surged from the Drach'nyen in his hand.
Clearly, Drach'nyen hadn't been at full strength just now.
But Abaddon was in no mood to complain about Drach'nyen slacking off.
Man and sword had never been so in agreement; the two had the same goal—to hack this brat before them to death.
Then Zhou Yun once again lightly parried Abaddon's attack, remaining completely unscathed himself.
Abaddon froze in place.
Zhou Yun looked relaxed.
And just at this moment, the famous blade, the Electro-Dian Guang Wan, in Zhou Yun's hand flickered a few times and turned gray.
"It's... out of power," Zhou Yun whispered.
Abaddon heard these words and was slightly stunned for a moment.
"Is it the sword's problem?" He roared and quickly swung another sword at Zhou Yun.
Just at this moment, the fourth-dimensional pocket on Zhou Yun's stomach suddenly expanded.
