Chapter 26: IQ like a sunburned one-eyed Ogryn

~7 min read 1,268 words

The door of the Sharp Spear tavern was pushed open, and a whistle sounded behind Zhou Yun.

Lage, wearing a flaxen robe with a spaceship symbol drawn on his gray-white ugly face, squeezed his ugly face and walked toward Zhou Yun.

"Brother, Brother Zhou Yun! My good buddy."

"You said you came to the tavern to drink at noon; you made me look for you!"

Lage shouted loudly, full of energy, like an upstart who had just made a fortune.

The customers drinking in the bar cast their eyes on him one after another.

Old One-Eye remained calm, took out an automatic pistol from under the counter, and skillfully loaded it.

Lage noticed this scene and was stunned on the spot, awkwardly raising his hands:

"It's me, Brother One-Eye; it's Old Lage; we've been good brothers for so many years; you don't recognize me after changing clothes?"

Zhou Yun shook his head lightly at Old One-Eye.

"No one can forget that ugly face of yours that can make people vomit for seven days and seven nights!"

Old One-Eye tapped the counter with the automatic pistol and shouted:

"Don't think that just because you changed masters, you can make trouble in my tavern."

Hearing this, Lage shrank his neck and then hurriedly nodded with a grin: "Understood, understood, we're all brothers."

As he spoke, Lage sat down next to Zhou Yun.

"Lage, brother, I still like you in your original skin," Zhou Yun looked at Lage with interest.

He was still a member of the local gang last night, and by noon today, he had already changed into the clothes of the Ark Gang.

Could it be that he was the one who led the way for the Ark Gang last night?

Lage grinned and waved at Old One-Eye, signaling him to serve him a cup of pungent blood-red wine.

Old One-Eye pushed the wine to Lage and glanced at him: "You kid, you wouldn't be the traitor who led the way for the Ark Gang, would you?"

"It's me," Lage patted his clothes with pride.

"I'm quite valued by the leader now," Lage picked up the wine glass and poured a mouthful for himself: "I'm getting closer and closer to Old Lage's dream."

"You still have a dream?"

"You still have a dream?"

Old One-Eye and Zhou Yun looked at Lage in surprise at the same time.

"Of course, Lage wants to be a gang superstar! Live a good life drinking Amasec every day," Lage raised his wine glass and drank it in one gulp.

Zhou Yun frowned, gestured to Old One-Eye, and said: "Then give my brother Lage another cup; I'll pay."

"To the future gang superstar."

Old One-Eye nodded and walked toward the cabinet behind him calmly.

"Good brother," Lage heard Zhou Yun treat him to a drink, and the corners of his mouth grinned into an extremely ugly smile.

"So, who asked you to find me?" Zhou Yun tapped the counter with his wine glass and asked.

"The leader!" Lage raised his voice a little: "Brother, this time Old Lage has found you a big job again."

"Oh?" Zhou Yun raised an eyebrow.

"The wine is here."

Before Lage could continue, Old One-Eye came to the counter with an opened bottle of blood-red wine.

"Freshly brewed; you old guy gets the first cup."

Old One-Eye poured a cup of wine and handed it to Lage.

Lage happily took the wine from Old One-Eye and poured it into his mouth.

"Brother Zhou Yun, the leader wants to talk to you about a big business."

"She has seen those Agrippina Mark III infantry autoguns you got back."

As Lage spoke, a blush had already appeared on his gray face.

"Who told her those guns flowed out from me?" Zhou Yun frowned.

He actually already knew the answer in his heart, but he endured it and didn't smash his fist into the face of this old calf, Lage.

"Me!"

Lage puffed out his chest and said with pride:

"Isn't this introducing new business to you, brother?"

Zhou Yun couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"Brother Zhou Yun, it's not that the leader isn't really good, and her generosity is much greater than the previous gang bosses."

"Recently, our district hasn't been very stable; during the time you were away, a small thief drifted into our district."

"That thief used a thermal cutter to burn open doors to steal at night, and even stole from the gang; the original gang caught him for a long time but couldn't catch him."

Lage seemed a bit drunk, rambling about fragmented things:

"When it's not stable, our two brothers must help each other and make more money..."

Zhou Yun didn't pick up his words, just looked at Lage calmly as he rambled on for a long time.

As Lage spoke, he stopped himself.

He held his head, frowned, and said dizzyly:

"Why does my head hurt a bit?"

"Brother One-Eye, what did you ferment this batch of wine with? So punchy?"

Old One-Eye glanced at him: "Mutant shit."

"That's really punchy," Lage grinned and said confusedly.

He rubbed his temples hard, wanting to keep himself awake.

"You're drunk," Zhou Yun looked at him and said plainly.

Old One-Eye nodded in cooperation: "You old guy, go to the room behind me and sleep for a while."

"No!"

Lage stood up from the chair unsteadily; his mind was already unclear.

Old One-Eye walked out from behind the counter, carried Lage on his shoulder, and pushed him toward the back room.

"I'm not drunk, I'm not drunk... no need..." Lage shook his head violently.

"No, you are drunk," Zhou Yun also stood up and patted Lage on the back: "Too weak."

"Then I have to..."

Lage covered his head, which felt like it was about to split, and said with gritted teeth:

"Then I have to sleep for a while; Brother Zhou Yun, you must not leave."

"In a while, you have to go see the leader with me."

"Okay, okay," Zhou Yun agreed fully.

He and Old One-Eye carried Lage to the room behind the tavern and threw him onto the bed.

The sleeping pill Old One-Eye added to the wine took effect.

Lage soon fell into a deep sleep, as if he had eaten Russ's uppercut.

"Your sleeping pill is really fierce," Zhou Yun said, looking at Lage who was sleeping dead.

"I have a unique channel for goods from the Bottom Hive," Old One-Eye rubbed his hands at Zhou Yun: "The sleeping pill and that bottle of wine must be recorded on your account."

"That's for sure," Zhou Yun nodded slightly at Old One-Eye.

Old One-Eye looked at Lage on the bed: "This old guy betrayed you; should I kill him?"

"He's not too bad in this broken place of the Underhive; stupid is stupid, but he's unique, high quality, and cheap."

Zhou Yun glanced at Lage on the bed and said.

Lage lay on the bed, his ugly face wrinkled into a ball, muttering things like "Amasec, punchy," "Made a fortune, Brother Zhou Yun."

Zhou Yun couldn't help but smile and said: "Such a rare talent, leave him to the Ark Gang."

"He's like a sunburned one-eyed Ogryn; this kind of shocking wisdom should be left to the opponent."

"What sunburned one-eyed Ogryn; you're talking about things I don't understand again."

Old One-Eye shook his head and looked at Zhou Yun with his only remaining eye:

"What do you plan to do?"

"I have a small plan; I plan to go see that leader."
