Chapter 359: Pfft-ji-pa

~9 min read 1,671 words

Numbers themselves have power. This is the theory of Numerology.

But in Kairos's view, this is complete nonsense.

The reason why sacred numbers can have effects is only because of the gods' love. The Changer of Ways likes the sacred number nine, so those believers who serve Tzeentch will use the number nine to please Tzeentch. If Tzeentch is really pleased, then the Changer of Ways will bestow some extra power.

This is the real reason why sacred numbers are effective. Numbers themselves don't have power. Numbers are just a symbol.

Just like symbols such as blue, bird feathers, classics, and one eye.

Numbers shouldn't have power!!!

Shouldn't be like this! Shouldn't be like this! Shouldn't be like this!

"Ah ah ah ah ah uh uh uh uh uh!!!!"

Kairos's two heads stretched out fiercely, and a burst of funny, gurgling, abstract sounds kept coming out from between his two legs.

Pfft-ji-pa——————

Clusters of colorful liquid kept flowing down from between Kairos's legs, gathering into a pool of viscous water on the ground.

It wasn't just Kairos. The other six Lords of Change also let out terrified screams. Colorful thick liquid soon gathered under their feet too.

Kairos's two heads and four eyes were all rolling white. His tongue stretched out from the bird beak, twitching in mid-air.

"H-how could it be like this..."

"Shouldn't be like this..."

Kairos wailed, watching the spell compiled by the seven spells beside him move toward stagnation and stuckness. Warp energy uncontrollably surged back into the bodies of their seven Great Daemons.

This wasn't the most dangerous. Those strange bacteria that had always been dormant on them also began to act.

Those bacteria were originally restrained and held by Kairos and them with magic, but as their number decreased to seven, the power of these bacteria seemed to have suddenly increased, raging in the bodies of the seven Lords of Change.

Even Kairos, as the Chief Great Daemon, couldn't resist for a while, as if these bacteria were naturally their nemesis.

"No! Don't! Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!!"

"My knowledge! My knowledge! It's flowing out! It's all flowing out!"

Kairos's two heads let out wails at the same time, twisting his body and struggling constantly:

"Don't! My precious knowledge! Don't leave me!"

"Hold! Can't hold it anymore, oh oh oh oh oh!!!!"

Compared to Kairos who could still suppress it, the other Lords of Change were even more tragic.

Their knowledge kept pouring out like a waterfall.

"Lord Kairos!!! Can't suppress it!!"

"Don't pull! Don't pull! I'm scared!"

"Tzeentch is above, is this also oh oh oh oh part of the plan?!"

Mephiston looked at this scene in a daze.

He couldn't help but turn his head away. This abstract scene was still too impactful for his life of only a few hundred years.

As for Guilliman, after that spell appeared stagnant and stuck, he felt that he had recovered

And this spell itself relied on inducing Guilliman to reveal negative emotions; the darker Guilliman's mood, the more powerful the spell's restraint became.

But looking at this awkward scene before him, the only emotion Guilliman could reveal was silence.

He stood up silently and wordlessly ignited the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's Sword; the scorching straight blade, mixed with the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's psychic power, shone as brightly as a lighthouse in the dead of night.

Yet, Kairos's attention was not on Guilliman at all.

"My knowledge, do not leave me! Do not leave me!"

"Oh, oh, oh, oh! The knowledge in my brain is about to be drained out!"

"No, no, must absorb the knowledge back!"

"Cannot, cannot do this; if I lie on the ground to absorb knowledge, the career of a Greater Daemon will be finished!"

Kairos screamed, arguing with himself; his left head offered an opinion, while the right head refuted the left.

But in the end, the thirst for knowledge outweighed his thoughts. Kairos lay flat on the ground, his feathers stained with those colorful, viscous liquids, his two heads pressed against the earth.

Guilliman's face twisted into a knot as he swung the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's Sword down at Kairos.

The chain-axe Bloodletter, once belonging to Angron, roared like thunder. The daemon possessing Kharn permeated every part of Kharn's flesh and blood, turning him into a scarlet, twisted daemon.

Vengeance! Vengeance! Vengeance!

Intense hatred surged with the fusion of daemon and human; the same intense emotion granted their combined body unparalleled power.

In the Warp, will is everything, and Kharn's will for vengeance was even stronger than his rage.

Wings woven from hatred and blood trembled. Driven by Warp power, that exposed arm swelled and grew claws, mimicking the iron chains of the Nuceria gladiators, which fused together with his flesh and blood.

The raging fire of vengeance and anger burned fiercely on the chains, connecting all the way to the roaring chain-axe.

Kharn let out a low growl and violently swung Bloodletter. The burning chain traced an arc in mid-air, guiding the axe blade to smash heavily into the left shoulder of the Nurgle Garden's Chief Gardener, Slimux.

Then, Kharn exerted sudden force, using the fleshy wings behind him to leap right in front of Chief Gardener Slimux.

The Chief Gardener seemed not to feel pain, using his right hand to grab his gardening shears and stab at Kharn's chest.

But the daemon residing within Kharn controlled Kharn's left hand, which had turned into a twisted claw, to collide with it.

Kharn seized the opportunity to grip the axe handle tightly and yanked Bloodletter out of Chief Gardener Slimux's shoulder, spraying foul, poisonous blood everywhere.

"Kill! Maim! Burn!" The savage war cry spilled from Kharn's mouth.

Bloodletter roared lowly, and with a wave of blood and fire, it smashed heavily onto Slimux's neck.

The strike hit home; the chain-teeth forged from mica-dragon teeth severed the cervical spine, sending the one-eyed Nurgle daemon's head spinning into the sky.

The twisted skull counter in the corner of Kharn's eye jumped, indicating he had completed another skull KPI.

He panted heavily, watching his flesh-and-blood body slowly revert to human form.

Meanwhile, Raum, parasitic within Kharn's body, writhed, partially emerging from Kharn's torso to gnaw on Slimux's body, which was slowly dissipating on the ground.

This act brought immense pain to both himself and Kharn; both felt as if their bodies were being torn apart, as if every molecule in their flesh was being twisted by the profane energy of the Warp.

The downsides of devouring other daemons, especially those from other realms, were clear to both Kharn and the daemon residing within him, but both chose to do it anyway.

While enduring the pain of the profane Warp energy twisting his body, Kharn looked at the situation on the battlefield.

The Gloriana-class battleship *Vengeful Spirit* had been severely damaged by the "seeds" Father Nurgle had buried within the ship, while her loyalist sister, *Macragge's Honour*, continuously circled the wreckage of the *Vengeful Spirit*, pouring out firepower.

Abaddon was barely managing to pilot the *Vengeful Spirit* to contend with it; the two great warships built by humanity were dancing a dangerous dance in the Warp.

Watching this dance of war and iron, Kharn inexplicably remembered the Gloriana-class battleship of the former War Hounds—no, the World Eaters—the *Conqueror*.

Captain Lotara Sarrin's soul was likely still wandering that warship.

Since merging with the daemon that once resided in Angor Thrax, Kharn felt his mind could gradually suppress his rage and think in a relatively rational way.

Kharn withdrew his gaze from the two Gloriana-class battleships.

Although the Gloriana was the Primarch of warships, the outcome of this war could likely only be decided between the Primarchs.

The battle between the *Vengeful Spirit* and *Macragge's Honour* was not important; it was far inferior to the battle erupting on the *Revenge of Tizca*.

The battle between Sanguinius and Ma Genusi.

"The Changer of Ways has intervened, *baji baji baji*."

The daemon residing in Kharn, while gnawing on Slimux's remains, said to Kharn:

"Now we see what the one behind Sanguinius will do, *baji baji baji*."

"Then the key is Ahriman," Kharn said, looking at the daemon that kept smacking its lips while eating the corpse: "See if Ahriman can stall that one."

"Damn it, Ma Genusi, what are you doing?!"

Ahriman protected the newly resurrected Thousand Sons warriors and retreated into the barrier.

This psychic barrier was woven from Chaos artifacts that Ahriman had continuously accumulated over ten thousand years.

According to the original plan, it was for Ma Genusi to defeat Sanguinius or Kairos to trap Guilliman, and then one of them would come to support Ahriman.

But the current situation was that, despite the help of the Changer of Ways, Kairos had still been defeated; Guilliman would be able to finish him off in no time and rush to the battlefield where Ahriman and Zhou Yun were.

And what about Ma Genusi?

The vast majority of the Changer of Ways' power had gone to Ma Genusi to expand the wound on Sanguinius.

At this moment, Sanguinius should have been very weak, but Ma Genusi was still dawdling and had yet to take down Sanguinius.

Ahriman couldn't help but grit his teeth; he had to consider how to escape unscathed.

"Diu luo!!!"

Zhou Yun's voice sounded again; Ahriman hurriedly interrupted his thoughts and rushed into the surging Warp torrent.

While Ahriman was thinking, Zhou Yun was also thinking.

He was calculating the time.

According to the plan written by Guilliman, their plan should also be entering the second stage.

It was just that he didn't know how the situation was with Sanguinius.

Zhou Yun cast his gaze toward the link between himself and the two Primarchs.

The thread connecting to Guilliman had originally shown some wavering, but it had now become stable; clearly, Guilliman had defeated Kairos.

And on Sanguinius's side...

Zhou Yun suddenly saw the thread symbolizing Sanguinius... a rhythmic tremor came from there.
