Chapter 419: Which Evil God Shaped Such a Terrifying, Twisted Monster?

~10 min read 1,935 words

"Luo Jia!!!"

"I told you, I have remembered your scent!!!"

"No matter where you flee or what form you take, I will find you."

"And then I will slaughter you!!!"

A bestial roar, fierce as a wild beast, rose from the shadows; a cold, treacherous storm surged from the darkness, instantly whipping up.

Those shadow storms, in the horrified gazes of Luo Jia, Abaddon, and Karyn, transformed into grotesque, terrifying, razor-sharp limbs, slicing through everything within everyone's sight.

Mountain rocks were torn into half-meter square fragments, swept up by the shadow hurricane; the entire mountain range crumbled in the storm, exposing the three to the sky.

At this moment, this barren planet seemed to have plunged into deep night; the dim yellow sky vanished, leaving only clusters of pitch-black shadows scattered in the void.

"Gaga gaga!!!!"

The chilling, terrifying cries of a flock of crows rose; like wind sweeping through fallen leaves, the crows gathered, blocking the sun and moon as they pressed down upon the earth.

They were like smoke, like a rainstorm, like a sudden gale, like a heavy black mountain; rising and falling, having form yet being formless.

"Who are you!!! Demon! Declare your true name!"

"I am Abaddon, Supreme Commander of the Black Legion, Chaos Warmaster Abaddon! How dare you offend my existence?!"

Abaddon roared out in anger.

He, who had just unified the scattered forces within the Eye of Terror, clearly would not tolerate his authority being challenged.

Especially when the challenger was merely a lowly demon.

At this moment, Abaddon completely failed to notice that Luo Jia behind him had already begun quietly weaving Xie Fa, planning to open a teleportation gate to flee.

"Get lost."

Pitch-black forked lightning crashed heavily onto Abaddon's chest; the Eye of Horus shattered in response, and shadow-like treacherous flames roared fiercely on his Terminator power armor.

Abaddon was like a boulder on the road, casually overturned by Hercules, crashing heavily against the ruined rock wall.

"Abaddon!" Karyn let out an urgent cry; the Demon Tarot in his hand flew into the air like patches of gray-yellow leaves.

"Guernica."

"Justinian."

"Ponz."

A red Khorne demon, neither cow nor not-cow, its form twisted, drenched in blood, swung an axe wreathed in the afterwaves of a bombardment.

A brown-green Nurgle demon, its body swollen, flesh intermingled with rotting East Roman garments; rats constantly burrowed out from within its body.

Chittering with a lewd laugh, a blue Tzeentch demon with a bird's head, constantly shuffling banknotes in its hands.

The three demons were released from the Tarot, roaring as they charged toward the shadowy mass in the sky.

More grotesque, terrifying low-level demons drilled out from other Tarots, following behind those three high-level demons, pouncing on the black shadow in mid-air.

The flock of crows, like boiling asphalt, seeped out viscously from the sky; in the blink of an eye, they drowned the tide of demons released by Karyn. Viscous black shadows extended snake-like tentacles, strangling Karyn's demons one by one.

Karyn screamed in terror, his eyes about to burst.

Just then, Abaddon rolled over, drawing Drach'nyen, which shimmered with blue ghostly light; a million human faces wailed upon that demon sword.

"Get lost! Evil spirits!!!"

Abaddon roared and bellowed.

Yet before he could swing his sword, the flock of crows descended from the sky, crashing heavily onto Abaddon's chest.

The crows roared, coalescing into a twisted ghostly figure twice as tall as Abaddon; a pair of pitch-black wings extended from his back, every feather a limb as sharp as a steel blade.

The crows' screeching rose; claws mixed with pitch-black lightning stabbed toward Abaddon's face.

Abaddon, terrified and off-balance, fell backward.

But the demon sword in his hand, as if protecting its master, let out a sharp roar, dragging Abaddon's hand to slash at that shadow monster.

Reflected on the blue demon sword was the figure of a Stone Age warlord: long hair, dark skin, covered in jewelry made of polished bones, clutching a flint spear in his hand.

That demon shadow collided with the shadow; the shadow suddenly extended a sharp claw and seized the demon sword.

The echo born from the first murder rang out in the shattered cave, loud as flint shattering; even Luo Jia, who was hurriedly opening a teleportation gate, turned back in shock to look at this soul-shattering collision.

An angry roar of the flock of crows rose from the shadows, deafening, like the roar and rebellion of countless weaklings against their oppressors.

Karyn suddenly felt his soul shatter violently; the scene before his eyes became hazy and fragmented.

He saw only the shadow's blood flowing endlessly; the dark sparks of the demon sword nearly ignited a third of his body, yet his sharp claw had forcibly seized the demon sword.

A million crow eyes emerged from the black shadow, bloodily staring at Abaddon. No, not staring at Abaddon, but staring at the demon sword in Abaddon's hand.

And there was one more; among those million crow eyes, one was not staring at the demon sword in Abaddon's hand, but staring straight at Karyn, overlapping with the perspective in the light screen, as if staring at the three people outside the screen.

Karyn's head throbbed as if splitting, his heart pounding, almost fainting.

"No." Abaddon roared in shock and fear; he seemed to have seen something behind the black shadow.

Rrraaak!!

The sound of the teleportation gate opening suddenly rang out, sharp and grating, like a whistle on the wilderness.

A twisted, glowing door appeared before Luo Jia.

This sound stirred that deep crow shadow.

The flock of crows exploded violently on Abaddon's chest, blasting Abaddon's body away; they themselves, using the reaction force, pounced on Luo Jia like hunting beasts.

"Luo Jia!!! I will slaughter you! You! Your accomplices! Your lackeys! Not one shall escape!!"

The bestial roar echoed across the entire planet; the tremors of the High Heavens reached deep into the soul.

Karyn let out a wail and fainted directly; his memories came to an abrupt halt, leaving only Luo Jia's wails, the sound of crows flapping their wings at him, and the crackling of the teleportation gate.

The scene on the light screen vanished; Cleopatra Cleopatra Cleopatra Er Si, covered in sweat, legs turning to jelly, fell heavily to the ground.

Her eyes were full of fear; as a senior Inquisitor, Cleopatra Cleopatra Cleopatra Er Si prided herself on her firm will, never wavering even when facing a Great Daemon.

But at the instant she saw that pitch-black shadow, Cleopatra Cleopatra Cleopatra Er Si felt she was about to wet herself; how could such a terrifying monster exist in this world?!

"How dark, how blasphemous, how twisted and terrifying a monster."

Els stared with wide eyes, speaking in terror, her gaze upon the surrounding shadows now filled with more fear:

"There are such terrible, blasphemous creatures in the Warp; even the Daemon Primarchs flee at the sight of them."

"By the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, what Chaos God could have shaped such a twisted and terrifying beast?"

"That is my dear brother, the Gene-Primarch of the Raven Guard, the Raven King Corax, enemy of all oppressors," Sanguinius whispered from the side.

Zhou Yun, standing nearby, nodded slightly: "Clearly, it was the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang who shaped him."

Els froze entirely; she realized how offensive her words had just been.

Zhou Yun paid no attention to Els's expression, but instead looked at the eerie raven shadow lingering on the light screen, at that inhuman posture.

Now, the Raven King Corax, through the mask of humanity woven by the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, has seen his true form in the Warp and gained power beyond reality.

Now he is the embodiment of vengeance, the redemption of justice, the enemy of all oppressors, hunting like a Wild Hunt within the Eye of Terror, rooting out evil and traitors there, also hunting his own fallen brothers, only occasionally returning silently to the Imperium.

As for his mental state, one hardly knows whether to call it good or bad; anyway, those in the Eye of Terror looking at Corax probably feel much the same as they did when looking at Konrad Curze.

"He looks very well, very spirited; that puts my mind at ease," a smile crossed Sanguinius's lips.

"The Raven King's appearance is truly handsome... Can you think of a way to turn him into my Daemon Prince?" Zhou Yun, looking at Corax's figure in the light screen, which was like a ghostly shadow, could not help but say.

This sentence made Els tremble again all over.

"If forced, even I would find it difficult to subdue the current Corax—well, after all, he is the enemy of all oppressors."

Sanguinius looked at the afterimage of Corax on the light screen and said:

"Where he is, the oppressed weak gain courage and strength, receive the blessing of shadows, and resist those oppressors."

"Where he is, the strong who oppress others gain fear and weakness, receive the curse of shadows, and become fragile and hesitant."

"The stronger the oppression, the more Corax can raise the heart of resistance; the stronger Corax becomes... The oppression in this galaxy is too great; it is too suitable for him."

Zhou Yun roughly understood Sanguinius's words.

Corax's true form in the Warp is most likely linked to emotions and wills related to resistance.

And oppression and resistance are two sides of the same coin; the greater the oppression, the stronger the emotion of resistance.

The oppression in this galaxy is so vast; the faint hearts of resistance of countless people gather together, like a flock of ravens coalescing into Corax, while Corax can also slip into the ocean of shadows composed of all living beings, invisible and formless.

This is why Corax, having realized his true nature, is so powerful.

If it were changed to a world without oppression where everyone is equal, the world the Raven King pursues, the Raven King would instead become weak.

But sadly, if this galaxy develops normally, oppression between galaxies will only increase, and the Raven King will only grow stronger.

Zhou Yun sighed deep within his heart, then looked at Els again, signaling Els to continue tapping.

Els seemed to have gained experience from tapping; this time, she struck gold on the first try, and the content Zhou Yun and Sanguinius wanted to see was projected from Khayon's eyes.

Khayon and Abaddon, covered in dust and grime, faces bruised and swollen, were dragged by a group of steel giants over six meters tall to the Wang Zuo of the Iron Lord.

"Why?" Abaddon's voice was hoarse and angry; he was held by the head by the steel giants forming a circle, unable to lift his head to look at the Iron Lord high above.

"Why?"

But he still questioned:

"Why could Drani Koen not harm your personal guard?"

"..." The Iron Lord responded to Abaddon with silence; he seemed not to have expected Abaddon to ask this question.

"They are my perfect creations; their gravity hammers can easily crush Terminator armor; their shields can withstand Angron's charge; they are connected to my will; they are my fingers, my perfect warriors and personal guard."

"But if you ask why Drani Koen performed poorly before them... well, so you really haven't noticed?"

The Iron Lord spoke in a tone unable to tolerate a fool:

"The reason is very simple; because they were never human to begin with; they are Automata!"

"You must find the Daemon born from the first murder of the Automata."
