Chapter 431
The dragon laughed wildly, mocking the foolish courage of this weak life.
That valiant knight clad in golden armor, riding a steed as black as night and wielding a lance shimmering with silver-white radiance, launched a charge at the dragon.
The sound of hooves and the lance cutting through the wind seemed so insignificant before the storm summoned by the dragon.
Malicious flames burned in the dragon's eyes; it drew energy from the very structure of matter, propelling an electron through space-time, transforming it into a cyan lightning bolt.
It seized the lightning with claws flowing with liquid mercury metal, thrusting it at the knight as if throwing a spear.
Thunder, like a tsunami, engulfed the sandy earth, drowning the knight in an ocean of electric current.
The dragon laughed savagely, preparing to devour the knight's soul, filled with pain and despair as the lightning scorched his entire body.
But at that very moment, the sound of hooves rang out, louder than the thunder it had summoned, as if drumming on the earth, the very roar of reality itself.
A neigh tore through the thunder; the steed leaped high, bursting out of the thunder with the knight unharmed.
The knight's face emerged beneath a helmet carved with an eagle; it was a brown face, with eyes as sharp as an eagle's.
His gaze aligned with the spearhead, growing larger and larger before the dragon's eyes until it pierced its face.
Immense force from the other side of the sea pressed down on the dragon's scales along with the spear.
The dragon's body fell uncontrollably toward the earth, and vicious cracks spread out beneath it.
The dragon felt bewildered, felt utterly inexplicable.
It, a god of the material universe, a dragon that had obtained eternal divinity since the birth of the cosmos.
Was actually knocked flying by a lance from a knight on a backward medieval planet?
Damn it, do physical laws even exist anymore?
The dragon felt confused, and the knight felt confused as well.
The knight was confused that his single lance strike had not actually killed the dragon.
He realized that upon touching the dragon's body, the psychic energy he had infused into the lance had been suppressed.
The pure silver spearhead, which he had spent thirty years saving for and had the best smith in Rome forge, had not even pierced the dragon's hard scales; how strange.
"You are still confused," Zhou Yun said, looking wordlessly at the brown-haired youth beside him.
Zhou Yun was now inside the dragon's dream, able to clearly feel the dragon's emotions and understand its bewilderment and shock.
The dragon was like a child holding boiling water to an ant hill, trying to play God in front of the ants.
To a Star God, the dragon was indeed as fragile as a child, but even a child could easily crush humans like ants.
Yet now, that child holding boiling water and playing God had almost had its neck twisted off by an ant; of course it would feel bewildered and shocked.
But Zhou Yun could not understand the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's confusion.
"Why can't I be confused? How many existences on Earth do you think could defeat me?"
"In that era, those who could not be knocked dead by my single lance strike were extremely few."
The brown-haired youth glanced away and said:
"I rode a steed bred over three hundred years, held the best lance in all of Rome, and was blocked halfway by an alien god from the material universe; why can't I be confused?"
"That was the best lance in all of Rome!"
The dragon was enraged; the dimension of reality began to tremble. From those dimensions folded within the microscopic world, energy itself was liberated, transforming into scorching, hot flowing light that stabbed at the knight's head.
The knight's helmet was knocked flying, his brown hair fluttering in the wind, but that was all; only the helmet was knocked flying.
Roaring, the dragon collided with the knight; uncooled molten black stone surged toward the knight like a tsunami.
The knight suddenly raised the shield in his hand; the molten black stone and the shield collided, and intense psychic energy and anti-psychic forces clashed.
Seizing the opportunity, the knight thrust his lance from behind the shield, the spearhead aiming straight for the dragon's abdomen.
The dragon's scales rippled like liquid mercury, exposing the scorching black stone hidden within its body; in an instant, anti-psychic forces spread out, acting upon the lance in the knight's hand.
The lance shattered into a thousand fragments, scattering around like a silver downpour.
The knight angrily let out a war cry.
"This is the best lance in all of Rome! This is my thirty years of savings as a soldier! You bitch!"
The knight's face began to burst with light amidst the thunder and storm; intense psychic energy surged out like a tide, swirling behind his skull into a bright halo, resembling a newborn sun.
The knight drew the longsword at his waist; scorching psychic flames ignited upon the blade, hissing and burning reality itself.
The dragon roared, wielding the great power to twist reality; the knight roared, venting psychic energy from another layer.
Their collision seemed like a clash between two dimensions: reality and the Warp.
The dragon reshaped the laws of physics, causing the air itself around them to ignite; the lung cavities of the black horse beneath the knight were lit, and Xiong Xiongliehuo directly engulfed it.
"Dare to kill my horse?!"
The knight charged forward riding the black horse bathed in fire; the burning longsword hacked at the dragon's body, and the dragon was suppressed, rolling on the ground.
But the dragon's body was so solid, so resistant to the great power from the High Heaven; the knight's sword still could not pierce its silver scales.
The dragon laughed savagely and full of malice.
Even though its body, authority, and power were shattered.
Its body was still forged in its prime days, a perfect fusion of living metal and black stone, almost the most solid thing in the entire material world, and the black stone itself could weaken the power of the High Heaven.
It was almost impossible to injure it, unless the knight before it knew where its weakness lay.
The gap struck in its left wing by Val, the ancient Aeldari god of forging, using a black stone fortress.
Zhou Yun could not help but show curiosity, curious about how the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang had discovered the dragon's weakness back then.
The knight and the dragon fought endlessly on the sandy earth, finally fighting up to the sky, fighting into the void.
In the void, neither had to worry about harming Terra itself or the humans upon it, and they began to vent their power without restraint.
They vented flames upon each other on the Moon, then used the Moon as a springboard to fight deeper into the void, until they crashed onto Mars, which was still a wilderness at that time.
The knight held the dragon's head tightly, smashing it heavily against the crimson rocks of Mount Olympus.
But the dragon was not to be outdone; it condensed black stone into a scythe and swung it, mimicking the posture of its former kin, the Nightbringers.
In the past, the Night-Embracer had spread so much fear throughout the galaxy that His form, as a primal terror, was deeply etched into the minds of all races; even some races that had never seen the Night-Embracer.
Just as the Dragon had foreseen, the knight's movement revealed a flaw, albeit an extremely brief one.
"Actually, at that time, I only wanted to snatch His scythe to make up for the pure silver spear I lost," the brown-haired youth explained.
Regardless of the reason, the Dragon's scythe sliced through the knight's breastplate, leaving a wound on His chest from which bright blood constantly gushed, splashing into the hot, fiery air of the starry sky.
The knight let out a muffled groan and raised the flaming longsword once more.
And just then, a voice—a sharp voice, carrying a sinister laugh, its tone seeming to constantly shift—resounded from the Highest Heaven.
"Knight, stab beneath His left wing; that is His weakness."
(Condition is very poor, headache, intercostal inflammation also hurts; the next chapter will be a bit late.)
