Chapter 439: Psyker-Specialized Subhuman Hua Di Huang Chosen
"First, I must emphasize that I came here of my own volition."
"I admit that facing Xi Xi Xi Gaoqi in the guise of the Jester, the Thirsty Lady, and Hua Di Huang simultaneously places immense pressure on me."
"But as a seasoned loyal servant of the Empire, I still have the opportunity to commit suicide."
Neso was pressed by the Jesters into the Imperial Palace, inside the tripartite meeting room belonging to Zhou Yun, Sanguinius, and Ji Li Man.
He wore an expression of indignation, pinned to the ground, yet his tone feigned ease, as if engaging in casual conversation:
"I came here entirely to express my dissatisfaction."
"To express the intense dissatisfaction of a loyal servant of the Empire."
Neso took a deep breath, his gaze sweeping over Ji Li Man and Sanguinius before finally landing on Zhou Yun.
"You claiming the Eldar are subhumans was already excessive! But understanding it was for the Empire, I endured it!"
"But you actually allowed the Jesters to humiliate Hua Di Huang like this! I simply cannot endure it!"
"Your damn Jesters actually dressed up as Hua Di Huang and asked me if I wanted to buy a crotch?!"
"The play they performed was even a pure humiliation against Hua Di Huang, no, against humanity!"
"What do you mean by Hua Di Huang and the Eldar Ancient Prophet getting stuck in Commorragh for free and eventually becoming Commorragh's top star?!"
"What do you mean by Slaanesh being attracted by Hua Di Huang's sacred crotch, thus using its first cry to dispel the Warp storm and create an opportunity for Hua Di Huang's Great Crusade?"
"Elaboration is not nonsense! Adaptation is not random fabrication! Have the Jesters' plays descended to such vulgar and boring levels?!"
Neso's questions were deafening, causing Zhou Yun to involuntarily tilt his head slightly away.
This matter was indeed permitted by Zhou Yun.
The Jesters possess a unique special skill: by portraying gods in their plays, they resonate with the gods and borrow the gods' power.
For instance, the Exalted Avatar gains the Laughing God's possession by portraying Xi Xi Xi Gaoqi, while the Unicorn gains power by portraying Slaanesh.
The closer their portrayal approaches the god itself, the more power they can theoretically borrow.
After arriving on Terra, the Eldar Jester Shadow Prophet Xilandri Veilwalker had a sudden inspiration.
Since they, the Eldar, are now subhumans, then theoretically Hua Di Huang is also their god.
Could they borrow power from Hua Di Huang by performing a play portraying Hua Di Huang?
Zhou Yun was shocked by Xilandri Veilwalker's world-shattering wisdom.
Yet he still agreed to let the Jesters begin their attempt.
After all, if they truly succeeded, it would be equivalent to creating a new Eldar Hua Di Huang Chosen.
Thus, the Jesters began following the Historically Rational Church, listening to Zhou Yun recount the history of humanity and the Empire, under the guise of collecting material for compiling plays.
They actually compiled a new play about Hua Di Huang, written in High Gothic as 'Imperator Dream! It's My Go!', which translates to 'Emperor's Dream! He Is Selling Crotches!'.
What surprised Zhou Yun even more was
"Bullshit! You traitorous mutant ape who betrayed the Empire is not worthy of accusing us!"
Xilandri Veilwalker, still in makeup and dressed as Hua Di Huang, poked his head out and roared at Neso:
"Do you even know what art is? Do you even know what reasonable, slight exaggeration is?"
"Besides, did Hua Di Huang not lend me power?!"
"If my portrayal was not perfect enough, how do you explain the power of Hua Di Huang I borrowed?!"
"You traitor, how dare you speak to me, a Psyker-specialized Subhuman Hua Di Huang Chosen? Show some respect!"
Indeed, the Jesters truly borrowed Hua Di Huang's power through their portrayal.
Although Zhou Yun felt this was entirely because Hua Di Huang simply did not care about the Jesters' chaotic play content.
Being able to stably create a Chosen, even one nearly equivalent to His avatar, naturally made Him very willing.
But Neso still broke down.
He kept his mouth tightly shut, staring fixedly at Xilandri Veilwalker, who had taken the appearance of a brown-haired youth, unable to utter a single word.
When Xi Xi Xi Gaoqi's sinister laughter surged from within the Exalted Avatar, he could still barely resist.
When the Unholy Power of Slaanesh was unleashed by the Unicorn, he could still hold on.
But when the flames of Hua Di Huang erupted from Xilandri Veilwalker's body, Neso truly broke down, breaking down psychologically.
"There is only one question I wish to know now."
"Who are you?"
Ji Li Man slowly opened his mouth to ask:
"The Jesters have traced your chain of command. Undoubtedly, you are the commander of the Alphas above Terra."
Neso seemed to have been waiting for this question; he revealed a brilliant, radiant smile, like a venomous snake shimmering in the sunlight.
"I am Alpharius," he said softly.
Drip!!!
The Right-or-Wrong Divination Machine in Zhou Yun's hand reacted; a blue cross flew into the air, judging Neso's statement as false.
"..." Neso's expression twitched as he looked at the Right-or-Wrong Divination Machine in his hand, seeming to wish he could smash the thing right now.
"I am Neso. Since the late stages of the Great Crusade, I have served as the Master of Pain for the Alpha Legion's Terra Theater, a position equivalent to the Governor-General of other Legions during the Great Crusade, responsible for commanding the Alphas within Terra and the entire Solar System."
As Neso's words fell, a silver-blue radiance rippled over his body, and his form transformed into the size of an Astartes.
The Right-or-Wrong Divination Machine judged Neso's words as true.
"Some interesting Warp power," Sanguinius said, a smile of interest appearing at the corner of his lips.
"Then, what are the goals of you and the Alpha Legion?" Ji Li Man continued to ask.
"Of course, to offer loyalty to the Empire!" Neso proudly raised his head.
The Right-or-Wrong Divination Machine showed no reaction, indicating that Neso's words were neither right nor wrong.
"Loyalty that is not absolute is absolute disloyalty," Zhou Yun evaluated quietly.
Nessos's expression grew even stiffer.
"I don't know. I don't know what the Alpha Legion's purpose is either." Nessos realized that lies were pointless and could only say this helplessly.
The Truth-Seeker Divination Machine confirmed again that Nessos was telling the truth.
This made Ji Li Man raise his eyebrows slightly.
"To be honest, I only suddenly remembered fifteen years ago that I was originally a member of the Alpha Legion, discovered I was an Astartes, and recalled those memories from the Great Crusade."
"Along with those memories came the means of contact between me and the other Alphas on Terra, as well as my two missions."
Nessos continued to speak frankly:
"The first mission: I was to cooperate with Abaddon of the Black Legion, enabling Abaddon to successfully complete the Thirteenth Black Crusade, causing the Great Rift to open and pierce the galaxy."
"You claim loyalty, yet accepted such a mission?" Ji Li Man questioned in a low voice.
"My dear my lord, loyalty depends on the result, not the action."
"From the perspective of action, Ma Genusi's attempt to warn Hua Di Huang of Horus's betrayal was obviously loyal."
"But from the perspective of result, what Ma Genusi did was simply the most heinous betrayal."
"The opening of the Great Rift serves to enhance my master Hua Di Huang's power in the material universe. Have you not felt it? After the Great Rift opened, Hua Di Huang's authority in both the material and Warp realms was enhanced beyond compare."
Nessos explained rapidly:
"So the opening of the Great Rift seems beneficial to the traitors, beneficial to Chaos, but in reality, it is beneficial to the Imperium, beneficial to Hua Di Huang."
"Moreover, in the original plan, your resurrection was also intimately connected to the opening of the Great Rift."
The Truth-Seeker Divination Machine judged that what Nessos said was true.
"This concerns my second mission. My second mission is to assist you."
"I was to secretly push the conservatives on Terra to take extreme actions, leading them to self-destruction, to be completely and thoroughly destroyed by you, removing obstacles for your Indomitus Crusade."
"After this mission was completed, I would be killed during your purge of the conservatives, ending my infiltration and mission there."
"But this mission encountered a deviation. The conservatives were indeed all eliminated, just..."
Nessos looked at Zhou Yun, his expression slightly grotesque:
"But your arrival disrupted the plan. You ruined my retirement."
Zhou Yun's expression remained unchanged.
Although the Truth-Seeker Divination Machine continued to judge Nessos's words as true,
Ji Li Man still felt unable to accept it; Nessos's words were simply too bizarre.
"Are you puzzled by my actions? Puzzled why I so calmly accepted the current situation and mission?"
Nessos seemed to see through Ji Li Man's thoughts, as if he were very familiar with Ji Li Man:
"Because this situation is very common in the Alpha Legion."
"During the Great Crusade, for a hundred years, I believed myself to be a Ultramarine, serving you loyally."
"I even participated in the Battle of Calth. I led my squad to hold back the Word Bearers' assault, and you rewarded me for it."
"Later, during the Second Imperium, I suddenly remembered my identity and mission, always monitoring your actions and reporting everything about the Second Imperium to the Alpha Legion."
"Later, I feigned sacrifice, broke away from your legion, and returned to the Alpha. Because I fully reported the situation of the Second Imperium, the Primarch promoted me to Master of Pain, responsible for the Terra war zone."
"There is still the inscription I left on your Macragge's Glory: We Are Here."
Nessos spoke eloquently, a brilliant smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
Ji Li Man's entire body stiffened.
"Are you Onnius?" Ji Li Man found the Ultramarine Nessos had once played in his superhuman memory.
The Truth-Seeker Divination Machine in Zhou Yun's hand jumped again, declaring that what both Nessos and Ji Li Man said was correct.
"Your loyal Ultramarine Onnius salutes you." Nessos bowed his head: "Please understand, we infiltrated all legions except the Space Wolves and the Dark Angels."
Zhou Yun glanced at Ji Li Man's stiff expression, almost laughing out loud,
but he still turned his head to look at Nessos and said with a smile, "Are you Omega?"
