Chapter 473: Ji Li Man (crossed out) Even a Psychic Muggle Would Say

~11 min read 2,012 words

That Dark Crow Guard is truly so powerful it leaves one helpless, Titius thought somewhat silently as he used his chainsword to take the life of the last World Eater Berserker.

His chainsword, the Innocent, was complaining to him, complaining that Titius had not let it seize the blood of those four most valuable enemies.

There was nothing to be done about it; Titius had witnessed that Dark Crow Guard's strength many times before. Although that one always humbly said he was merely an ordinary Dark Crow Guard, and that among the Dark Crow Guards there were plenty stronger than him,

Titius understood that was merely humility. If every Dark Crow Guard truly possessed his level, what would they need the Ultramarines for?

Their Ultramarines might as well follow Primarch Robert Guilliman to the five hundred worlds of Ultramar, find a planet, and farm.

"All the honor of this battle goes to the Shadow People," Captain Kalyan said, somewhat sullenly.

Their elite Terminators of the Sanguinary Guard had all taken the consumable high-efficiency pills, and once they stepped onto the battlefield they were practically human meat grinders; the fight against the World Eater Berserkers could almost be called a slaughter,

which led to them having very little sense of experience, feeling there wasn't much honor to speak of in the battle.

"Compared to personal honor, I now care more about fighting for the Hua Di Huang, for mankind, for the Primarch, and for Saint Doraemon," Titius said with a slight nod and a smile.

"You Ultramarines really are serious," Captain Kalyan replied half-jokingly: "Let's act according to plan."

The war council aboard the Lightbringer and Lord Dante on Baal jointly designated several dozen plans,

among which the twenty-second, blessed by numerology, was judged by the truth-or-false divination machine to be the most suitable plan.

According to that plan, the Ultramarines force led by Titius would split off and act separately from Kalyan's force,

splitting up to act separately inside this unfamiliar, dim, and extremely complex Conqueror seemed like it might not be a good choice, easily leaving one's force in an isolated and helpless situation, causing them to be picked off one by one by the enemy.

But neither Kalyan nor Titius felt fear, because Saint Doraemon's gaze always watched over them, following them like their shadow,

and within the shadows, within the blind spots of human vision, they also had the presence of other allies.

The Lightbringer in the void was like a brutal, savage golden behemoth, continuously venting overwhelming firepower in all directions, crushing those ships that tried to approach it, and countless fighter craft streaked across the void, cutting into prey like a swarm of bees,

the World Eaters' ships could not approach the Lightbringer at all. This Emperor-class battleship, once belonging to Macarrius, was one of the largest, most heavily crewed, and most sacred ships currently in service in the Imperial Navy fleet. In the void it constantly displayed its divine might, its prow carved with the image of the Hua Di Huang pointing straight toward the distant Conqueror, which could only be seen on the augur,

this ship perhaps inherited Macarrius's temperament, or perhaps it was simply that Kahn's earlier words about wanting to make the Conqueror Zhou Yun's new flagship had stirred up its competitive spirit. This Emperor-class battleship actually had the impulse to compete with the Gloriana-class battleship Conqueror,

but Zhou Yun would not allow it to do so. According to plan, the Lightbringer would always maintain a safe distance from the Conqueror, and would not engage in direct combat with the Conqueror. The work of tangling with the Conqueror was entirely handed over to the Sanguinary Guard's fleet,

the Lightbringer's duty was to keep Zhou Yun and the Conqueror at a distance that the Anywhere Door could reach in an instant.

On the bridge, Zhou Yun sat in his own seat, with four tracking image mirrors placed before him. Two of the mirrors reflected Titius's Ultramarines squad and Kalyan's Sanguinary Guard Terminator squad,

they were steadily advancing through the Conqueror, which was filled with mutated flesh, and had not encountered any obstacles for the time being.

The other two—

"My lord, Lord Kahn, he..." Sol, the Primaris Space Marine captain guarding Zhou Yun's side, said with some hesitation.

The Kahn in the mirror did not look quite right. He stood within the Conqueror, wearing the Blind Spot Star, gripping his chainaxe, his whole body trembling slightly, seeming somewhat moved, seeming somewhat angry.

"Don't worry, he is Kahn," Zhou Yun said, shaking his head slightly, signaling Sol to set his mind at ease.

Kahn would absolutely not drop the ball when it came to hunting Erebus,

it was just that returning to the Conqueror and sensing that the Conqueror and Captain Sarlin were being enslaved, the anger welling up from the bottom of his heart had become difficult to suppress,

and this anger could just be forged into a burning sharp blade, thrust toward Erebus.

In this operation, Titius's and Kalyan's squads were both Zhang Yan Fa; the true key still lay with Sarokin and Kahn.

Hearing Zhou Yun say this, Sol also felt somewhat more at ease,

although Kahn was a traitor, he had not been stingy with teaching Sol these past days. Sol was not an unfeeling person; he could not help but worry about Kahn. Senior Kahn, may the Hua Di Huang forgive your soul, may he protect you from being consumed by anger,

Sol prayed silently in his heart.

Hiss—

Suddenly, Sol felt his head ache for a moment, his consciousness wavering for a second or two,

but it also seemed like an illusion, as if nothing had happened.

He shook his head slightly, clearing his spirit a bit,

Sol lowered his head and saw Zhou Yun gazing at the tracking image mirror that reflected Kalyan's figure,

this Sanguinary Guard first company captain seemed to have encountered an enemy.

Kalyan's relic weapon, the Hammer of Baal, roared, and a azure energy field was unleashed, smashing the mutated crewman that lunged at him into pieces,

along the way Kalyan had not encountered any decent resistance, which made him worry about the situation on Titius's side,

but Saint Doraemon was surely watching over them. According to plan, if either Titius or Kalyan encountered an attack, Saint Doraemon would notify the other side to come support.

Was it that Titius also hadn't encountered any decent resistance, or was Titius so strong he simply didn't fear that resistance?

Kalyan and Titius had sparred in the fighting pit; Titius was so strong it left Kalyan a bit numb,

wasn't this guy the former second company captain of the Ultramarines? How could he make him, a Sanguinary Guard first company captain, hard to cope with?

Especially since this guy fought as if he knew no fear, felt no pain, and never hesitated; the way he swung his chainsword was ferociously fierce, so fierce that Kalyan even suspected whether the Ultramarines could also suffer the Thirst?

While complaining in his heart, Kalyan continued to swing his thunder hammer to clear a path. He led his Terminator squad into a vast, empty ship compartment,

stepping inside, Kalyan felt a sticky sensation underfoot. He lowered his head slightly, and the bionic eye embedded in his left eye rotated slightly, letting him see clearly that beneath his feet was a pool of blood thick as jelly, in which the severed limbs of many mutant crewmen were soaking.

And directly in front of him, a massive brass symbol of Khorne lay there, with many skulls hanging upon it.

Kalyan's expression immediately became solemn; he smelled some terrifying scents in the air.

A beast-like, brutal sound rang out, and teleportation light suddenly flared from midair, blasting open the blood pool and illuminating the dim ship compartment,

it was a group of World Eaters wearing bright blood-red power armor, their grotesque mutated arms and heads exposed to the air,

these World Eaters' flesh and power armor had grown together; they gripped tightly all manner of chain weapons, their bodies shrouded in a thick scent of fresh blood and Warp-foul energy.

Without a doubt, these were possessed warriors, but not ordinary possessed warriors, these were—

Kalyan quickly recalled the booklet Zhou Yun had recently completed, "Warp Common Sense That Even a Psychic Muggle Would Say Is Good," which had received Ji Li Man's praise. It recorded many enemies related to the Warp, including the enemies before Kalyan's eyes,

they were Eightbound! World Eaters possessed by eight daemons!

Barbaric roars rose from the battlefield; eighty-eight Eightbound howled and roared as they lunged at the Terminator squad led by Kalyan,

those grotesque chain weapons smashed directly onto the Terminators' power armor, beginning to try to cut through them,

battle erupted in an instant, the smell of fresh blood filled the air, the Sanguinary Guard roared their war cries, the Eightbound howled,

Karain took the lead, the blue-green plasma light rising from the Holy Artifact Power Hammer, Bal's Hammer, in his hand; like a meteor in the dark night, heavy as a thousand jin, he directly smashed the head of an Eight-Bound, then slammed it heavily into the pool of blood.

The energy field exploded, the blood water it threw up evaporating in the intense heat of the energy field, while simultaneously blasting the other three Eight-Bound beside Karain away.

Just then, a claw with a grotesque, blood-filled maw lunged at Karain; from within the claw, a circular saw roared forth, pointing straight at Karain's neck, attempting to sever his head in one strike.

Karain's teeth moved slightly, crushing a high-efficiency pill hidden in his mouth; his figure suddenly turned into a afterimage, dodging the fatal circular saw, then he turned his head to see the enemy that had attacked him.

That was also an Eight-Bound, but with a deeper degree of mutation; its flesh and blood were almost fused into one with the weapon in its hand, its feet transformed into beastly claws that pierced through the power boots, making its overall form closer to a demon than a human.

A Divine Venerable Eight-Bound, an Eight-Bound completely fused with the eight demons possessing it!

Just as Karain dodged the circular saw of the Divine Venerable Eight-Bound, another Divine Venerable Eight-Bound circled behind him; this Divine Venerable Eight-Bound, wielding a chainsaw blade of a flayer in both hands, swung down diagonally at Karain.

The circular saw Divine Venerable Eight-Bound also surged forward, joining the flayer Divine Venerable Eight-Bound in a pincer attack on Karain, sealing off the space for Karain to dodge.

But— the sound of a propeller spinning up rang out; the bamboo-copter on Karain's head exerted force, carrying Karain, clad in heavy Terminator power armor, flying up into the sky.

Those two Divine Venerable Eight-Bound froze for a moment, completely unable to expect that Karain could actually shoot straight up into the sky; this was entirely beyond the expectations of their cerebellums.

"Traitor, isn't it quite reasonable for a Blood Angel like me to fly?" Karain grinned; with the aid of the high-efficiency pill and the bamboo-copter, he descended like a crimson meteor, directly smashing the heads of the two Divine Venerable Eight-Bound with one strike of his power hammer.

The two Divine Venerable Eight-Bound could not withstand such a heavy blow and fell directly into the pool of blood.

Karain took the opportunity to observe the situation around him; it now appeared that his Terminator squad, bolstered by the Saint Doraemon items, was still in a dominant position; although some had died, once the battle ended, Saint Doraemon would send people to bring the corpses back to the Light Lord, and they could be resurrected again—

Suddenly, a roar filled with terrifying sulfuric odor erupted beside Karain's ear; this roar seemed to be mixed with endless fury, causing Karain's body to tremble, an inexplicable fear arising in his heart, freezing him in place.

A chainsaw sword fused with a flesh-and-blood arm cleaved through reality, tearing open a blood-red teleportation gate.

Rrraaah!!!!
