Chapter 516: A Person Ultimately Can Only Rely on Themselves
Blood spread across the red sand as Zhou Yun slightly turned the clockwork mechanism embedded in Kahn's back,
stuffing several pills of different colors and styles into Kahn's hand. Kahn took them, popped a few into his mouth without crushing them, but quietly hid one pill, white and sticky like a glutinous rice ball, in his palm.
Zhou Yun then handed Kahn a string of items and nodded slightly at him.
This aligned with the Blood God's agreement with Zhou Yun: the two had agreed to use only blessings to empower Angron and Kahn, employing no other means.
Zhou Yun understood the Blood God's reasoning.
At the most critical moment of fate, a person ultimately can only rely on themselves; one must not become addicted to external objects.
Just like Zhou Yun, no matter how perilous the situation, he always relied on himself to use items.
These items were naturally part of Zhou Yun; wasn't giving items to Kahn equivalent to blessing Kahn?
Wasn't this perfectly in line with the rules!
Kahn knew these items possessed miraculous effects far beyond imagination; the Blood God's blessings could not compare to them.
He could only feel gratitude, but he remained the Kahn who was bad with words, able only to nod his thanks to Zhou Yun.
Zhou Yun said nothing, merely patting Kahn's shoulder.
What Kahn had to do was extremely difficult; he was challenging his own Primarch.
Even in the Hua Di Huang's plan, there was little hope for this; the Hua Di Huang did not even think it necessary for Kahn to challenge Angron, deeming it a waste of time on Kahn and Angron. Yet Zhou Yun believed they could try; even if they failed, they still had Plan B.
Kahn took a deep breath, stepped forward slightly onto that warm gravel. The hot sand, as if heated by freshly flowing blood, caused a slight burning pain in Kahn's mutated foot protruding from his power armor.
He looked at his Primarch, one hand gripping the Blood Child, the other tightly clutching a small item like a firework.
"Father," Kahn growled low.
Once again, Kahn stood before his genetic father.
He knew his genetic father was mocked by many.
But Kahn only wanted to say that most of those who mocked Angron had never personally stood before Angron.
He was the embodiment of the concept of terror; chilling blood qi had coalesced into him, killing intent was his fuel, rage his furnace, hatred the energy flowing in his blood, and slaughter the only output this machine could produce.
Hearing his heavy breathing like that of a predatory dragon, smelling the sulfur stench in the air capable of burning a mortal's lungs, feeling the skin pricked by the rage surging from Angron, even Kahn's soul trembled.
But should it be this way?
Was Angron meant to be like this from the moment of his creation?
Kahn suddenly began to ponder this question, a bitter smile involuntarily forming at the corner of his mouth.
How could fate be so full of malice and bitterness, twisting his genetic father into such a form.
"Father!" Kahn called out, raising his voice slightly. This time, emotion mingled in his voice. His genetic father lifted his beast-like head slightly; in his sickly yellow eyes, there was only killing intent and rage.
The Butcher's Nails clattered hideously; the beast roared, the beast howled, the beast responded to Kahn's call with slaughter.
"KILL!!!!!" Angron roared, lifting his head. A crimson sun wheel hung behind him, turning him into a black-and-red afterimage in the blink of an eye.
A massive axe cleaved through the air. Only then did Kahn realize Angron was not using his usual one sword and one axe, but was wielding two axes, just as he had when he was still human ten thousand years ago.
One of them was Spinebreaker, the weapon Angron obtained by slaughtering an entire Xie Sect world, capable of splitting Titans and crushing fortresses.
The demon greatsword Sanguinary, once wielded by Angron and transformed from a Greater Daemon of Slaanesh, had been taken by Sanguinius and offered to Saint Doraemon, becoming that one's little snack.
Now, Angron wielded Blood Father alongside Spinebreaker.
It was a weapon paired with the Blood Child in Kahn's hand, both forged from the lower jaw teeth of a Cloud Mother Dragon, deadly and perilous.
During the Great Heresy, Kahn inherited the Blood Child, while Blood Father had circulated, been fought over, and worshipped among countless warbands.
But now, Angron had clearly picked up this Blood Father again to replace Sanguinary, which Doraemon had eaten.
Blood Child clashed with Blood Father.
The two weapons, separated for many years, reunited once more, emitting a sharp roar together.
"Father, this Blood Father still suits you," Kahn said involuntarily.
Angron's response was nothing but roaring muscles and foul sulfur breath.
The power of the Lord of Red Sand remained terrifying, even more so now due to the Blood God's full blessing.
Even though Kahn had now merged with Lorgar, becoming almost a blood demon, he still could not match the power of a Primarch.
In a single instant of collision, the red muscles on Kahn's arms shattered one by one like ropes unable to bear the load, splashing blood outward.
Kahn grunted, dropping to one knee on the ground, holding his axe up with his head raised to struggle against the force.
He had not seen Angron's face this closely for a long time.
He still remembered his genetic father's former face.
Those curly red hairs like copper wire, the pale eyes hidden behind deep cheekbones carved by sword slashes and axe blows, that hawk nose and wide, thin lips.
That was indeed the face of a Primarch. When Kahn first saw that face, the very first thing he perceived was not rage, but sorrow.
An indescribable sorrow, like a dead person mourning someone truly gone, like a king with infinite empathy for others' emotions overwhelmed by bitter fate.
Perhaps it was precisely because Kahn perceived this that he survived under Angron's axe, becoming one of the few World Eaters capable of communicating with his own Primarch.
But now Kahn saw only a beast. Rage had completely twisted Angron, making every piece of flesh on his body look like a tumor hanging on bone and soul. Those pale eyes that once hid sorrow had now become a Kong Dong burning with sulfur. Those lines once proud as flint had vanished; lips that once resembled a sage's had been stripped away, leaving only those hideous teeth.
Kahn felt sorrow, felt pain, felt rage. His father had been twisted into such a form.
Slowly, bit by bit, Kahn actually stood up. The Blood Child gradually rose, pressing back against the Blood Father little by little.
This was certainly not because Kahn suddenly understood some nonsense like love, justice, or friendship. This was entirely because...

Kahn did not know what the Tokyo Tower was; he only felt that his strength at this moment was sufficient to topple a Titan.
He swung the axe in his hand violently, forcing Angron back several steps in an instant.
At the same time, Kahn raised the little confetti cannon, and Raum's hand seized the chance to reach out and pull the cord behind the confetti cannon,
Kahn remembered the name of this prop,
"Mini Sun."
