Chapter 523: Mortarion: Great Calamity!!

~7 min read 1,294 words

A colossal bronze sword descended from the Highest Heavens, piercing the veil of reality and cleaving into the galaxy.

In an instant, reality collapsed and disintegrated; a torrent of the Warp, brimming with blood-qi, overflowed from beyond the galaxy. Deep space spanning thousands of light-years was split open by the bronze sword in the blink of an eye. Dozens of star systems were annihilated in the moment of destruction. Even those stars that escaped the sword's cleaving path were affected by the Blood God's power, beginning to project lethal crimson radiation across their entire systems.

In an instant, a crimson scar appeared on the star chart.

Yet the single star system targeted by the Blood God remained utterly unscathed. That entire star system had inexplicably vanished beneath the Blood God's blade, leaving no trace.

The Blood God first felt bewildered and stunned, then rage.

He vaguely perceived where that star system had gone, where Angron, Kharn, Zhou Yun, and that entire star system of Astartes had gone.

The Blood God raised his head, his gaze piercing through layers of void, landing on the core of the Human Imperium, on the Solar System, on Terra, and upon the Palace.

The Blood God could sense that in that very instant, the entire star system had been transferred into the Terra Palace.

Though he did not understand how it was done, it was already clear who had tricked the Blood God and who was the mastermind behind it.

Especially recalling the words spoken by Zhou Yun just before that star system vanished, and recalling Zhou Yun's eyes filled with melancholy and apology, the Blood God's fury instantly ignited.

"Hua Di Huang!!!"

"The Cursed One!!!"

"Liar!!!!"

The Blood God raised his head atop the Wang Zuo, his gaze driving straight toward the black sun hanging in the Warp and the Golden Wang Zuo deep within the Terra Palace, driving straight toward that withered corpse.

Khornate raised the colossal bronze sword high, assuming a throwing posture atop the Wang Zuo, aiming directly at the Golden Wang Zuo deep within the Terra Palace.

But the corpse seated upon the Golden Wang Zuo made no movement; those hollow eyes seemed to watch Khornate with keen interest.

"Do you dare me?!"

"Are you questioning my courage?!"

The Blood God roared and bellowed.

Within the Nurgle Garden, Mortarion, who had been fiddling with dice and calculating the flow of fate, suddenly paused.

The snail shell in his hand slipped from his pale fingertips and shattered upon the table.

Three twenty-sided dice did not spin nor roll; they stood rigidly upright on the table, all showing thirteen.

Then, the three dice burst with a crash, exploding on the table into a scattered pile of fragments.

Mortarion looked in horror at the fragments on the table; his superhuman mind quickly calculated that there were one hundred and sixty-nine fragments on the table.

"Thirteen."

"The Dark King."

"Great Calamity!!!"

Mortarion growled the words aloud.

After Mortarion, the second to notice something was wrong was Tzeentch, who was currently resisting the invasions of Nurgle and Slaanesh.

Tzeentch perceived that fate was turning black bit by bit, flowing bit by bit toward a future of total destruction.

The Lord of Change shrieked, disregarding the invasions of Nurgle and Slaanesh, and directly projected his power into the Blood God's domain.

"Khornate! What are you doing!!!" the Lord of Change croaked. Fate no longer resisted Tzeentch's control; instead, it cooperated with Tzeentch to weave crystal-like threads that entangled the Blood God, blocking this unwise action.

At the same time, Nurgle and Slaanesh also perceived what Khornate intended to do; they too quickly abandoned the invasion of Tzeentch's domain and extended their power into the Blood God's domain.

"Calm, calm. What matter is worth such hatred and rage?" The Great Father, holding his large belly, looked toward the Blood God's domain. As his gentle words rang out, the faces of the demons within the Blood God's domain instantly became somewhat gentler, and pustules began to appear on their bodies.

Compared to the Great Father's gentleness, Slaanesh appeared far more direct.

"Fuck this red-skinned madman! What were you doing ten thousand years ago?! Were you just busy beating me?!"

"Now that He has become a toilet stuffed with shit, you know and are exploding?!"

Slaanesh's sharp cry was like a deadly demonic sound; countless Khornate demons shrieked as their existence was torn apart by the sound.

Besides the Four Gods, the lesser entities within the Warp also turned their gazes toward the scene.

That shadow detected the danger first among the lesser entities, emitting a hissing sound filled with threat.

Vashtorr poked his head out from the Soul Furnace, showing the Blood God the contract they had once signed; the Blood God's current actions violated the contract.

Gork and Mork emerged from the Green Tide; they briefly ceased their fighting with each other because the Red Dog Head intended to leave them no fights to have.

Xi Xi Xi Gaoqi also cast his gaze from the Black Library, advising the Blood God with a voice laced with mockery and cunning not to act impulsively.

The figure of the Tau'va Goddess also appeared in a remote corner of the Warp, arguing with the Greater Good that the Blood God's actions were wrong.

Even reality itself loosened its resistance to the Warp in other regions, focusing instead on reinforcing reality near Terra.

The Blood God cursed with extreme hatred and slammed the colossal bronze sword back into the ground beside the Wang Zuo. In an instant, the entire Warp trembled; blood appeared on the bodies of the other three Gods, and cracks subsequently appeared across their domains.

But they did not care; as long as they blocked the Blood God's impulsive action, these wounds were nothing. They swiftly retreated into their own domains to repair the damaged parts.

The Blood God's gaze swept over those lesser entities that had just appeared.

The shadow buzzed, but the Blood God's gaze could not penetrate that layer of shadow, finding no target to strike.

Vashtorr held the contract; he was ultimately the Blood God's ally, so the Blood God would not act against him.

Gork and Mork returned to the Green Tide and resumed their endless fighting; the Blood God did not need to act against them at all.

Xi Xi Xi Gaoqi hid within the Black Library; the Blood God found it very difficult to drag him out, making it impossible to act against him.

Finally, the Blood God's gaze fell upon the Tau'va Goddess.

The Tau'va Goddess, who was attempting to argue that the Blood God's actions did not conform to the Greater Good, let out a terrified scream; vicious bloodstains suddenly appeared all over her body.

She was utterly terrified and hastily fled into the torrent of the Warp, vanishing without a trace.

A cold sneer crossed the lips of the corpse on the Wang Zuo; he then looked before him.

A small star system, roughly one meter wide, floated before the Golden Wang Zuo. Within it rested the ships: the Lord of Light, the Blessed Lady, the Conqueror, and the Fortress.

It was as if that star system chosen as the Blood God's target had been shrunk and moved before the Golden Wang Zuo.

"What do you mean 'forced by the Hua Di Huang, with no choice'? Aren't most of these your own bad ideas?"

The voice of the Hua Di Huang resonated through psychic power, entering Zhou Yun's ears.

Zhou Yun, aboard the Blessed Lady, smiled as he produced the Anywhere Door.

"In any case, your credit score has already fallen as low as it can go."

"I am different; my credit is far more precious than yours."
