Chapter 533

~5 min read 909 words

The Silent King Szarekh, the theoretical supreme ruler of the Necrons, the last Lord of the Triarch, the enemy of the C'tan and the Old Ones, and also a Class-A war criminal of the galaxy,

He ruled during the final stages of the arduous war between the Necrontyr and the Old Ones, ignoring the warnings of the Astromancer Orikan, and chose to serve the C'tan to oppose the Old Ones.

The first C'tan the Silent King served was the Deceiver. As one of the four great deceivers of the galaxy, the Deceiver did not disappoint the Silent King; he cheated him severely, ultimately leading to the occurrence of biological transference.

The former Necrontyr were burned away in the furnaces, their souls becoming desserts for the C'tan, their flesh-and-blood bodies destroyed in an instant, and their memories uploaded into living metal bodies, becoming soulless mechanical slaves; thus, the Necrons were born.

And so, the true War in Heaven broke out. The C'tan and the Necrons rampaged through the material dimension, nearly igniting the entire galaxy in their war against the Old Ones and their vassal races, such as the Aeldari. This war was reflected in the Warp, churning the once-calm Warp into a pile of filth, and even the Old Ones were eventually backlashed by the Warp, falling because of it.

To a certain extent, all the tragedies in the galaxy today can be traced back to the day the Silent King Szarekh chose to trust the C'tan.

Later, Szarekh led the Necron uprising, destroying the weakened C'tan after the War in Heaven, and tearing those gods of the material universe into fragments.

But the Necrons were also exhausted as a result, unable to resist the gradually rising Aeldari Empire, so Szarekh ordered the Necrons to enter the Great Sleep lasting six thousand years, attempting to simply outlast the Aeldari.

And the Silent King himself destroyed his total control protocol over all Necrons, self-exiling into the boundless deep space outside the galaxy to repent for his sins.

Until not long ago, the Silent King collided with the Tyranid Hive Fleet outside the galaxy, and realizing the threat of the Great Devourer, the Silent King returned to the galaxy, attempting to reintegrate the Necrons to oppose the Tyranids.

The reason Zhou Yun mentioned him was because Zhou Yun intended to leave himself more paths.

Now, besides pinning his hopes on the pillow of the Three-Year Sleeper, the other plan Zhou Yun could choose was the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang's plan to push Zhou Yun to ascend to godhood.

And Zhou Yun himself wanted to leave behind one more path, and forming an alliance with the Necrons was one of them. The Necrons have absolutely nothing to do with the Warp, are sufficiently powerful, and possess many technologies that isolate the Warp. Among the various monsters and demons in the galaxy, the Necrons are one of the few races with value for cooperation.

And among the Necrons, at least the Silent King is thirsty to reverse the biological transference, and Zhou Yun happens to have a way to help the Necrons regain their souls and even their flesh-and-blood bodies.

Zhou Yun inquiring about the Silent King's situation was to verify whether cooperation with the Necrons was feasible.

There are not many people left in the galaxy who have seen and understand the Silent King.

Cegorach is one of them. The Aeldari and the Necrons are mortal enemies, and Cegorach's evaluation of the Silent King is extremely "high."

"The Hua Hua Hua Di Huang and the Silent King are like two sides of a coin."

"If you scam the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang can turn around and scam your kidneys away."

"But if you scam the Silent King, you will receive the kidneys of an entire race."

That is how Cegorach evaluated the Silent King.

Besides Cegorach, the only other person Zhou Yun could think of who had an understanding of the Silent King was Sanguinius.

At least the Silent King once claimed to Dante that he and Sanguinius had a very good relationship; when talking about Sanguinius, the Silent King spoke as if he were talking about a deceased wife.

"... Szarekh?" Hearing Zhou Yun ask about the Silent King, Sanguinius revealed a somewhat strange expression.

"He is a bit like... like the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang," Sanguinius said after hesitating for a moment.

Hearing Sanguinius's evaluation, which was somewhat similar to Cegorach's, Zhou Yun revealed some strangeness.

You have to know that Szarekh's evaluation of Sanguinius was much more straightforward.

In Szarekh's view, if Sanguinius became the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang of the Imperium, he would lead humanity and even the galaxy toward a bright future. He believed Sanguinius would be a more reasonable Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, the only human worthy of being mourned by him; he respected Sanguinius and remembered their meeting for ten thousand years; he even felt remorse, believing that if Sanguinius had not died, everything would be vastly different...

And for the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang, Szarekh's evaluation was only one sentence: "a corpse that plays with sorcery."

But Sanguinius evaluated that Szarekh and the Hua Hua Hua Di Huang were somewhat similar... a corpse that plays with sorcery and a skeleton that plays with technology, they are indeed somewhat similar.

"Is this a compliment, or an insult?" Zhou Yun asked, raising his eyebrows slightly.
