10 Turning Point

Is this the power of the anomaly?...

After using the black goat’s connection to observe the world through its “eyes,” Li Ang vaguely understood why it could pinpoint the bandaged woman’s location from two streets away.

Within his own roughly two-kilometer-radius “soul vision,” every soul displayed radically different hues—not physical colors like red, orange, or yellow, but wondrous tones beyond the reach of eyes and spectrum, accessible only to the soul.

Souls filled with joy and positivity glowed pure and blazing, while dark, obsessive flames appeared murky and dull.

The tall, bandage-wrapped woman before him, however, possessed not only astonishing brightness but also an incredibly profound darkness—light and dark sharply divided yet endlessly tearing at each other; among the gray, lifeless souls, she stood out at a single glance.

Warmth, kindness, compassion, love… her goodwill toward him just now was not feigned, yet her dark side’s coldness, cruelty, hatred, and madness were equally real.

Li Ang simply could not imagine how such nearly opposite emotions could forcibly coexist within a single soul without eroding each other.

‘Hah! Boy, scared by our power, huh?’

Seeing Li Ang stunned into silence, the black goat, assuming he was awestruck by his first glimpse of “soul vision,” tilted its head up with haughty pride:

‘Though I got killed once, I was once a top-tier demon—just one glance could awaken evil desires in a million living beings! Even now, with only two horns left, I’m still beyond comparison!’

‘Mm-hmm…’

Nodding along, Li Ang sighed with a mix of sincerity and flattery:

‘Even without that ability to amplify malice, just being able to see souls within a two-kilometer radius is already incredible. With your power, I’ll definitely find that out-of-control infected one!’

Of course!

Hearing Li Ang’s praise, the black goat proudly lifted its head.

Sure, I’ve got no real combat strength—not even a farmhand with a pitchfork could beat me, and he nearly pinned me down and kicked my ass—but my ability is undeniably useful, especially with a full two-kilometer…

‘Wait? Your soul vision has a two-kilometer diameter?’

Li Ang paused slightly, then shook his head:

‘No.’

Shit! You scared the hell out of me!

Hearing Li Ang’s denial, the black goat exhaled sharply.

That damn red-haired bitch weakened me so badly my vision’s now barely over two kilometers. If this kid had two kilometers too, he’d almost catch up to me! Thank goodness he doesn’t…

‘Two kilometers is the radius of my soul vision.’

‘…’

?!

Upon hearing Li Ang’s words, both the black goat and the bandaged woman froze—especially the black goat, whose black face overflowed with shock and envy.

Your vision radius is two kilometers? My vision diameter is only two kilometers! Shit! The ability I lent you is stronger than mine?!

‘Wait.’

Glancing at the black goat’s furious, stunned expression, the bandaged woman’s earlier guilt vanished. She pointed at the goat, eyes wide with disbelief:

‘You just received its approval and gained its ability? You now have soul vision too—you can see the colors of other souls?’

Pfft! I didn’t approve him! Give back the ability! I’m taking it back!

Under the black goat’s jealous glare, Li Ang nodded:

‘Yes. For example, your soul…’

‘is black and white…’

‘Prove it!’

Cutting him off, the tall bandaged woman gripped Li Ang’s shoulders with iron force, her eyes blazing like fire:

‘Don’t tell me what you see—I don’t care what my soul looks like. Since you’ve got that goat’s power, amplify my malice! Let me feel it!’

‘…’

Watching the bandaged woman’s blazing eyes and feeling her grip like iron clamps, Li Ang’s breath quickened.

It seems… she has something urgent she needs the black goat’s power for. If I use this as leverage, could I make her…

‘I’ll help you!’

Seeing through Li Ang’s thoughts before he spoke, the bandaged woman—who had just refused to risk anything—now stared at him with burning intensity:

‘If you prove it to me and promise to help me once more afterward, I’ll go to the hospital right away!’

‘Done!’

Unexpectedly, the situation turned around. Li Ang’s joy surged—he immediately hugged the goat’s head and extended his will, gently tugging at the bandaged woman’s soul’s dark side.

BOOM!!!

As if a long-suppressed volcano erupted, countless vicious black “flames” exploded outward, burning straight toward Li Ang along his will.

The bandaged woman’s gaze shifted instantly—her earlier excitement and delight vanished, replaced by something sharper than knives, colder than glaciers, making the soul tremble.

Merely meeting her gaze, Li Ang felt his breath choke—understanding for the first time what “solidified killing intent” truly meant.

The way she looked at him now went beyond anger or hatred—it was as if he were nothing but rotting flesh mixed with bone and blood, as if she would pounce and tear him apart in the next second!

‘Sorry…’

Releasing her grip from his neck, the bandaged woman stared at the rapidly darkening handprints on his skin and apologized with deep regret:

‘I… lost control for a moment. I’m sorry. I’ll compensate you—money, anything you want.’

‘No… cough… no… cough cough!’

So… I really almost got strangled?

Recovering from that gaze, Li Ang’s throat burned as he bent over, coughing violently, waving his hands, eyes filled with relief at barely surviving.

Luckily, I didn’t use much force—just a light nudge. If I’d stirred even a little more of her dark side, I’d probably be dead right now.

‘Heh, fool!’

Watching Li Ang cough, the black goat, silent throughout, couldn’t resist mocking him:

‘You can’t even draw out a target’s malice? Give back the ability right now—it’s a waste to let a human use such a great power!’

‘Give back’ the ability? So once you lend it, you can’t just take it back?

Sensing the hidden meaning in the black goat’s words, Li Ang quietly noted this information, then asked sincerely:

‘Can you teach me how to…’

‘No!’

Before he could finish, the black goat, furious at being outshone by a human, snorted:

‘Forget it! Our deal is over!’

‘Even if I never get a single draw from Gao Te, get bullied daily by that red-haired bitch, and get thrown back into a sheep pen in Wales—I won’t teach you a single thing!’
