Chapter 56: 54 and 55 Have Been Revised
54 and 55 have been revised
I carefully read everyone’s feedback; although more people ultimately chose not to revise, when I reviewed the outline, I realized the handling was indeed inadequate.
Especially at what should have been an emotional climax, the issue was resolved directly through a “non-protagonist” approach, weakening the significance of earlier judgments and efforts; though I later retraced and reworked it, it felt overly sluggish, so after some thought, I decided to revise it.
What’s marked (revised) is the updated version; those without (revised) can redownload—the new version is much stronger than the original.
And… in short, it’s all Fish’s fault,
After two major revisions before publishing, I didn’t reorganize the outline properly and made a super basic mistake I shouldn’t have made—my apologies.
Also, since the book goes live on the 1st, I rushed to stockpile drafts these past two days; I was happily writing right before posting and didn’t reread it thoroughly, so I missed that these two chapters felt off and let the error slip through—apologies again.
Facepalming, I guess rushing never works.
Let Fish cry here—after writing over ten thousand characters today, Fish’s saved drafts have been deleted, revised, or moved around, and are now completely zeroed out… or2
Finally… Fish has fully accepted (given up) now: Fish seems genuinely unable to write fast—when in a hurry, the story gets watery and quality drops; even when mentally unclear like today, Fish still makes major blunders.
So it’s not that Fish doesn’t want to write more… it’s just that Fish truly can’t write fast; when Fish feels capable, Fish will try to write as much as possible, but sometimes it’s simply beyond capacity.
Looking at the authors in the group who casually hit ten thousand words a day, Fish sincerely drools with envy, but for Fish, quality, speed, and rigor seem to form an impossible triangle.
Since the last book’s middle-school phase, every time Fish tried to achieve all three, one would collapse completely, causing the whole thing to slide downhill… or2.
As I wrote this, I suddenly realized I’ve again habitually rambled on too much… hmm… well, the most important thing happens to be saved for last: Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to everyone!!!!!
