Chapter 849

~6 min read 1,063 words

Seeing Li Ang suddenly regain mobility and lunge at her, the Iron Princess nearly popped her eyeballs out.

Not… you're actually serious?

You're one of the Kingdom's Two Pillars, President of the Upper Academy, Duke of the Lionheart, future Prince of the Blood… you've reached a position nearly second only to the Emperor, yet you still become a fugitive rebel leader? What's the difference between this and rebelling against yourself? Are you insane?

With no time to ponder what was wrong with Li Ang's mind, the startled Iron Princess sidestepped just in time, barely avoiding his hand grabbing for her shoulder.

But immediately after, the inner side of her ankle was violently hooked, throwing her off balance and sending her crashing to the floor, as a gleaming iron-knee straightened toward her abdomen.

"Thud!"

At the dull clang of metal striking the wooden floor, the fallen Iron Princess grabbed the wreckage of the study's outer wall and pulled her body upward with all her strength, then spread her legs to their limit, barely letting that lethal knee strike miss its target.

Yet the police martial arts Li Ang learned from the female officer were still too new—he'd only picked up basic forms, never learned what to do when his takedown was dodged, and his movements hesitated slightly.

Seizing this rare opening, the Iron Princess snapped her knee upward and kicked Li Ang's head like a rabbit striking an eagle, but he reacted in time, dodging it and taking the kick only on his right shoulder.

"Clang!"

Amid the grating metallic clash, Li Ang's iron shoulder dented violently as if struck by a solid iron mallet, his entire right arm going limp and hanging uselessly.

The Iron Princess used the recoil to propel herself backward, sliding straight across the floor, hastily putting distance beyond Li Ang's reach.

Close call! He almost got me.

After glancing at Li Ang's hands, the shaken Iron Princess drew a deep breath, then twisted and scrambled to her feet, sprinting toward the guards outside.

Forget it—even if I can't control it, it doesn't matter!

She gestured twice at the guards, ordering them to block Li Ang, then immediately spun and dashed for the stairwell.

The entire palace is mine now; if I wait just half an hour, let my power spread further, even the whole capital will be mine—enough bodies to crush him under sheer weight!

Trouble…

Watching the dozen or so guards, armed and closing in after receiving the Iron Princess's order, Li Ang sighed and pulled the Black Goat out of the Mirror World.

If I'd known it'd come to this, I wouldn't have lent out the 【Dream Invader】.

I joined the Cleanup Bureau too recently—I still don't have enough items. After my 【Witch's Broom】 got snapped, I've got no primary combat anomalies left, especially nothing for clearing out grunts.

I can't possibly drink the full 【Drunken Immortal】 and strap on the 【Screaming Hand】 just to brawl a few iron guards. I'll need to find a suitable anomaly soon after this is over.

"From now on."

After securing the ecstatic Black Goat to his waist, Li Ang bent down, picked up the old King from the floor, and hung him on his belt too.

"I declare war on the Kingdom!"

As Li Ang proclaimed his declaration, the acrid stench of sulfur instantly flooded the study, and two black, spiral-patterned goat horns, wreathed in crimson sparks, rose from his head.

"See? When it really matters, it's still up to us!"

Amid the Black Goat's triumphant boast, Li Ang—black goat head dangling on his left, old King's head on his right—spun and charged straight at the guards.

After sizing up Li Ang's "appearance," and likely realizing their assigned task, the guards—who'd already received orders—felt as if injected with extra adrenaline, storming into the study with weapons raised, shouting chaotically:

"Rebels!"

"Defend the Palace!"

From the distant corridor came the Iron Princess's roar:

"Send help! Rebels are assassinating the King! Alert the Captain of the Guard! Call the Garrison too! Kill… damn it! Capture him alive!"

Under the Iron Princess's command, iron guards throughout the palace rushed up the stairs, pinning Li Ang on this floor—he charged out several times but couldn't break through.

Though the Black Goat's brain was unreliable, his ability was solid: the moment Li Ang declared war, the effect of Unceasing Bloodshed activated fully.

Surrounded by hellish aura and flanked by a demonic phantom, Li Ang relied on the dual immortality of goat head and goat heart, charging straight into the crowd without dodging or retreating, engaging in close-quarters combat with a swarm of guards.

You dare come alone to assassinate the King?

Enraged by Li Ang's "audacity," a burly iron guard raised his ceremonial sword and swung it down with fury, bellowing:

"Rebel!"

"I am!"

Li Ang replied casually, then tilted his head slightly, letting the blade strike his shoulder head-on.

Though palace guards might lack battlefield experience, their physical conditioning was unquestionably excellent; even with Li Ang's strength, the unsharpened solid iron blade's full-force downward strike dented his shoulder, sent his upper body crashing downward, nearly knocking him flat.

But before the iron guards could celebrate, the demonic phantom behind Li Ang shuddered slightly—his dented shoulder instantly restored, even the scraped-off paint reappeared.

"Give it here!"

His hanging arm snapped up, gripping the thick blade of the ceremonial sword; in the burly guard's stunned gaze, Li Ang—shorter by nearly two heads and seemingly frail—yanked the sword with one hand, dragging the guard and his weapon straight toward him.

Won't let go?

Seeing the iron guard still gripping the hilt tightly, Li Ang—desperate for a weapon—didn't hesitate: he raised his leg and kicked straight between the guard's legs.

Yet strangely, the iron guard showed no reaction, still clutching his sword with both hands, refusing to release it, while other iron soldiers seized the chance, rushing in and swinging weapons at Li Ang.

Damn… I slipped up.

After taking two swords and three clubs in one second, Li Ang finally realized: the Queen and King lost their heads and didn't die—what's one kick to a buddy?

Need to swap badges.

Switching out the Egg-Beater Badge… pulling out the 【Too Bad】, Li Ang raised his arm to block the guards' weapons while swinging his right leg with full force, kicking the burly guard's vital point again.

"Thud!"
