Chapter 900: 497 Throwing a Tantrum
"Your Highness, I am the Foreign Minister of the Krook Kingdom; you may call me Addison."
While the Executioner's Assembly swiftly set the tone—deciding that whoever uncovered the issue would be eliminated—Li Ang had already been guided by the Third Prince to the conference hall in District Three.
Upon seeing Li Ang enter, a middle-aged man in neat, refined attire, appearing sharp and capable, sat opposite the door; he nodded to him, then gestured with a hand toward the empty seat across from him.
"Please be seated. We will jointly negotiate solutions regarding the hijacking of our airship on your soil, the burning of the boarding tower leased to you, and the loss of critical cargo."
"Additionally, other members of your diplomatic delegation have no right to observe; please follow Prince Andre's attendants to the lounge in the corner and wait."
Without even a word of greeting or courtesy, and without any intention of dialogue, the Foreign Minister immediately laid out his demands, then lowered his head and opened the file before him, speaking without a trace of amusement:
"Your Highness, the first matter we must discuss is your kingdom's internal security."
"Armed rebels organized into full units have appeared in critical areas surrounding the capital, effortlessly breaching your checkpoints to attack facilities belonging to our nation… Please give me and the Krook Kingdom a reasonable explanation for how such an absurd situation could occur."
"…"
Explain what? Tell you how I borrowed uniforms and credentials from Isla, then led the rebels in attacking the boarding tower and burning the airship?
Watching the Foreign Minister launch his assault before he'd even sat down, Li Ang's lips twitched slightly—he felt as if he'd encountered that freckled prince again, his right hand instinctively itching.
He had heard before arriving that, due to its technological advancement, national strength, and dominant position in international affairs, the Krook Kingdom had always adopted an aggressive foreign posture, often bordering on bullying.
But from disembarking the airship until now—less than two hours—he had already endured three blatant humiliations, leaving him deeply irritated.
Especially this Foreign Minister, with his iron-nail face—he spoke no outright insults, made no provocative remarks, yet his every word and gesture carried an air of absolute refusal.
Though Li Ang never cared about face, as the envoy of the Thrush Kingdom, he now represented his nation's dignity; to be treated so dismissively was truly unbearable.
"Your Highness?"
After waiting a moment without response, the Foreign Minister looked up again, seeing Li Ang neither seated nor speaking, only narrowing his eyes and staring intently at him; his brow knotted into a " Chuan " shape, and he snapped impatiently:
"I must receive the ambassador from the Oleson Kingdom in this room shortly, so please cooperate. Don't waste my time."
"…"
Sigh… Veronika, you really need to step up.
Hearing the man's near-reprimand, seeing the undisguised irritation on his face, Li Ang shook his head slightly.
Relations between nations are far more "wild" than those between individuals, governed strictly by jungle law—only when your fist is strong can your spine stand straight.
And now, the kingdom had little beyond a large population and decent energy and industrial foundations; everything else was pathetic, causing others to treat it as insignificant—and by extension, even this prince was treated with contempt.
…
"I don't handle the boarding tower matter."
As the serious middle-aged man's frown deepened, Li Ang pulled out a chair and sat down, then answered calmly, as pre-scripted:
"Our delegation has two groups; the one handling this matter is the other group. Wait for them to arrive and speak with the other ambassador. I'm here to buy technology."???
Completely unprepared for this reply, the Krook Kingdom's Foreign Minister froze, instinctively flipping through his agenda book, then looked up, frowning:
"I received no such notification. There is no such item on the agenda."
"Add it."
Before boarding the airship, Li Ang had intended to avoid stirring trouble and provoking Krook sanctions; he'd planned to play along.
But after enduring a ridiculous hijacking, hearing the Jiefei siblings' story, and learning the truth about the major floating crystal mines, he was now ready to make a scene—there was no need to swallow his pride.
"Hand it over!"
Amid the Foreign Minister's stunned expression, Li Ang rose slightly, leaned forward, snatched the agenda book from his hands, grabbed the pen on the table, scribbled two lines, added a few entries in the same format, then tossed the book back.
"I've added the procurement. I want a long-range communication system. Ask your questions now—I plan to go out later. Don't waste my time!"
"You… you…"
Faced with the prince's brazen, utterly disrespectful act, the serious middle-aged man turned livid, stammered twice, then slammed his fist on the table.
"Absurd! Impudent! Do you know what you're doing? This is an outright provocation! You will cause…"
"That's because you provoked first."
Having held back his anger for the entire journey, Li Ang crossed his arms and sneered:
"Do you know how long I've been tolerating you?
Since we disembarked, you've been harassing me! You took half an hour to issue a single ID card, now you're arranging this and that, constantly giving me the cold shoulder… I know Krook is powerful, but do you really think no one has a temper?"
"You!"
Seeing Li Ang kick his chair back and stand, glaring at him with clear intent to strike, the Krook Foreign Minister's Qishi collapsed; he struggled to retort:
"This is a state-to-state meeting! Not a street brawl! Your behavior is unprofessional!"
"And you were unprofessional first!"
Slapping the table, Li Ang roared:
"You skipped the entire reception protocol except for some worthless prince with no inheritance rights. You couldn't even prepare a few ID cards—you made me wait and whine for ages. Is this professionalism?
And you—playing the dignitary so well—but you don't even know why I'm here or what we should discuss. Is this how a Foreign Minister is supposed to be?"
"…"
Wait… could it really be our fault? We didn't even prepare the ID cards, and we didn't even know why he came?
Seeing Li Ang's furious expression, the Foreign Minister, intimidated by his aura, instinctively shrank back, then forced himself to argue:
"Those are merely issues of reception protocol and agenda scheduling—they can be addressed later. But they don't excuse your rudeness! I am the Foreign Minister of Krook! You must show me at least basic respect! At least… at least don't swear!"
"I didn't swear!"
"…"
