Chapter 909

~6 min read 1,102 words

Me? Controlled by Atphi-01?

After hearing Li Ang’s words, the girl with emerald eyes froze, her mind momentarily blank—once again, from a human perspective, she experienced what “stunned disbelief” truly meant.

Strictly speaking, this body, created less than two months ago, is indeed controlled by Atphi-01… because I am Atphi-01.

“I know this sounds utterly unbelievable.”

Seeing the girl’s soul in violent turmoil, her peculiar precision nearly vanished, Li Ang understood his psychological tactic had worked—and pressed his advantage:

“Besides my title as Prince of the Blood, I’m also a Clearance Officer of the Virgin Division. Through certain channels, we learned of a mysterious organization targeting royal families across nations.”

“Per the agreement between the Clearance Bureau and the royal houses, we’re obligated to protect royal members. So we launched an investigation to assess the situation in the Krook Kingdom and safeguard its royal family.”

“…”

I’m well aware of all that… but why are you protecting me specifically?

“So… so that’s how it is…”

After a few seconds of stunned silence, instinctively sensing that getting close to this man would bring her great misfortune, Princess Philia blinked her large eyes, forcing a nervous laugh under Li Ang’s gaze as her gaze darted everywhere:

“But I don’t know much about this—why don’t I go back and tell my brother Andre about it? He can discuss it with you.”

“We’ll certainly contact Prince Andre as well. But as for you…”

Gripping the emerald-eyed girl’s wrist tightly, Li Ang glanced at her soul, radiating unmistakable “wanting to flee,” and sighed inwardly.

Clearly, this child still didn’t believe him—or didn’t realize the royal family was already under control. Then he’d have to stick to the original plan: take her by force.

“Sorry, but you’ll have to come with us for now!”

Giving a signal to the female reporter already prepared, Li Ang, following techniques he’d practiced specifically, delivered a palm-strike to the back of the emerald-eyed girl’s neck, aiming to knock her out and carry her off.

Yet after taking the palm-strike, Philia only cried out in pain—she didn’t faint. Instead, she clutched her struck neck, turned her head, and stared at him with dazed confusion:

“You…”

“Sorry, my technique’s a bit rusty.”

Giving Philia an apologetic look, Li Ang—who had only practiced knocking out adult men the night before—judged his method might not suit a girl, so he slightly adjusted his force and angle, and struck again.

“Ow!”

“…”

Why isn’t this working? Is this kid that resistant to being knocked out?

Watching Philia’s neck now reddened from a second palm-strike, Li Ang’s expression twisted in embarrassment, then he raised his hand again—this time adding extra force.

“Thud!”

With a heavy, muffled impact, Philia’s head visibly dropped under Li Ang’s reinforced palm-strike, her large, watery eyes already welling with tears from the pain.

Please, just let me explain one sentence!

There’s a signal receiver implanted beneath the skin of my skull, constantly emitting tiny electrical currents to stimulate my brain—as long as it’s active, attacking my nerve clusters won’t work!

And this method is dangerous! You’re a Prince of the Blood—couldn’t you at least use an anesthetic spray or sedative? Why must you knock me out with such brute force?

“Stop it!!!”

Just as Philia was about to break down, the guards trailing far behind finally reacted—the man claiming to be a Prince of the Blood had suddenly gone mad and was assaulting Princess Philia!

“What are you doing?!”

“Let go of the Princess!”

Amid several furious shouts, the shocked guards surged forward, aiming to subdue the madman attacking Princess Philia.

Yet the instant they moved, a tiny flower in Li Ang’s pocket trembled slightly—suddenly, hundreds of vine-like tendrils, as thick as a thumb, erupted from the clean, orderly street, tripping every charging guard.

Meanwhile, Li Ang turned back and scattered a flurry of seeds—each no larger than a grain of rice—before they even touched the ground, they sprouted into more vines under some strange force.

These new vines slithered like agile green snakes, intertwining with the earlier ones, and in the blink of an eye, bound the fallen guards tightly.

Yet even after neutralizing the guards, Li Ang didn’t lower his guard. He raised his hand for the fourth time and struck Philia’s neck again, while shouting to the female reporter:

“Five o’clock! Seven o’clock!”

“Got it!”

Before Li Ang finished speaking, the reporter vanished from her spot, reappearing fifty paces away across the street, tearing open the building’s exterior wall with bare hands to reveal the man moving through the earth and stone inside.

“?!!?”

Clearly unprepared to be exposed, the man wearing a diving mask jumped back in shock, diving into the wall like a man leaping into water, his body vanishing halfway into the masonry.

But before he could fully disappear, two pale, glowing hands tore through the thick earth-and-stone wall like ripping rotten cloth, dragging the diver back into view.

“You… Nicole?!!”

“Long time no see.”

Smiling at the stunned diver, the female reporter seized his right leg, spun him like a shot-putter, and hurled him sideways.

The diver, caught completely off guard, didn’t even have time to scream—he flailed wildly as he “swam” through two houses, then crashed into a middle-aged woman who had been closing her eyes.

What the hell?

The cursed anomaly had barely begun forming when suddenly interrupted by the flying man—the woman clutching a straw doll in her hands angrily rose to her feet.

But before she could curse, a pale, glowing hand snatched the straw doll from her grip and tore it apart in three swift motions.

Immediately, both exposed Clearance Officers felt a numbness at the nape of their necks—and their world went black.

Holy hell, this is the efficiency of a Level One Clearance Officer?

Watching Nicole resolve two Twin Division Clearance Officers in under five seconds, Li Ang inwardly whistled, his opinion of the female reporter drastically upgraded.

Though her mind was somewhat lacking, her physical prowess was undeniable—Li Ang hadn’t even seen how she moved; one moment she was there, the next, both guards protecting Philia were unconscious.

Considering the Water Bearer Director’s high regard for her, she must possess other anomalies besides her [Untouchable Hands], likely ones that greatly enhance speed and reflexes. Under the element of surprise, I wouldn’t even have a chance to resist—she’d take me down before I could blink.

Truly impressive…

With a sigh of admiration, Li Ang glanced at Philia’s tear-filled eyes, abandoned the palm-strike, and called out to the reporter:

“Nicole! This kid won’t knock out—come help me hit her!”
