Chapter 933

~5 min read 979 words

So Mr. Bell has problems too? We almost got caught?

After hearing Li Ang’s words, Alje felt a chill run down his spine, a sense of being cornered creeping over him.

Though the anomalies handled by Cleaners are powerful, not every Cleaner possesses the ability to stand against a thousand enemies; most Cleaners’ physical forms still remain within human limits, capable of bleeding and suffering injury.

A Cleaner like myself, lacking area-of-effect capabilities, would last only a little longer if surrounded by organized military forces and subjected to concentrated firepower or heavy artillery bombardment—eventually, death would come just the same.

And when it comes to conventional weapons, if the Kingdom of Krok claims second place, no one in the world dares call themselves first; as someone whose abilities lean heavily toward “support,” I’m truly struggling in this country…

“Mr. Li Ang.”

After glancing at the bustling District 3, Alje hesitated and asked:

“What do we do next? Should we keep investigating District 1?”

Li Ang looked at him, then shook his head:

“No need. We already know enough about what needed investigating.”

“Huh?”

“For us, there are only two meaningful pieces of intelligence in District 1.”

Li Ang raised one finger:

“The first meaningful piece is the exact location of Atifi-01.

Though we never entered the core zone, I circled the perimeter and memorized the soul signatures of roughly fifty people—finding District 1 again will be much easier now.

Once we lock down District 1’s location, we effectively lock down Atifi-01’s approximate position. Our goal is to destroy it, not to capture it; knowing its approximate location is sufficient.”

“The second piece of intelligence is confirming who our true enemy is.

Though Mr. Bell is likely compromised, the information he gave us may still be truthful—he claimed Atifi-01’s core component is most likely the brain of the former Princess Filia.

If that’s true, then we can be nearly certain it was Prince Andre who slaughtered the royal family; only he had the power to ambush Nicole and Director Edward. Our target is now clear.”

“But there are still many things left unclarified?”

Alje said, puzzled:

“Like the truth behind what happened back then—why King Fein needed Atifi-01 so desperately he was willing to sacrifice his own daughter, or why Prince Andre slaughtered the royal family…”

“The truths behind these matters are important, but not worth risking our lives to uncover.”

Interrupting Alje, Li Ang spoke calmly:

“If our strength were greater and we didn’t have to worry about our own safety, we could investigate further—see if there were hidden motives or other undisclosed reasons.

But given our current situation, what we’ve learned is enough. Now that we know Atifi-01’s location and have confirmed who’s targeting us, the next steps become far easier.”

Far easier…? How exactly? I still don’t get it.

“Simply put: now that the situation is clear, we can begin acting against Prince Andre.”

Seeing Alje’s confusion, Li Ang explained:

“I’ve met Prince Andre. I observed him—he’s just an ordinary man. So for us, the real problem isn’t his power, but his status.

As the third prince of the Kingdom of Krok and the last surviving member of the royal family, his authority within this kingdom is virtually limitless—he can mobilize nearly all of the kingdom’s resources.

He can command troops to seal off or even bombard entire districts. With Atifi-01’s various detection systems, we can’t even get close to him—we’d be detected and obliterated before we ever laid eyes on him.”

“Yeah…”

Alje sighed, rubbing his temples:

“I never thought ordinary human technology could be this troublesome. Those soldiers searching District 3 tossed out a palm-sized device—and in two seconds, it collapsed an entire building.

And those strange nets—just two metal discs stuck to the ground, then pulled up and pushed forward like a handcart—look harmless, but trees swept by them instantly carbonized and shattered. It’s just…”

“Don’t worry—we don’t have to deal with any of that.”

After glancing at the progress of the search in District 3, Li Ang said:

“Prince Andre’s personal strength is negligible. The real problem is the power his status grants him. If we can find a way to neutralize that authority, taking him down becomes far easier.”

Alje asked, puzzled:

“But he’s a prince—and controls the entire Kingdom of Krok’s military. How can we strip him of his power?”

“Don’t worry—I’m familiar with this.”

Li—rebel leader—coup expert—Ang smiled:

“If the Kingdom of Krok were larger, it might be harder—but its territory is small, its population limited. It’ll be easy. Two or three days should be enough.”

What? Topple the Kingdom of Krok in three days?

After hearing Li Ang, Alje’s mind went numb—he began wondering whether he was dreaming or if Li Ang was talking nonsense.

Even if the Kingdom of Krok is small, it’s still a sovereign nation. To overthrow its prince in three days—how is that even possible?

“Senior Alje, the soldiers in District 3 are expanding their search. If we don’t leave now, we’ll be spotted.”

Seeing Alje’s doubt, Li Ang didn’t explain immediately. He turned and left the rooftop, calling out:

“Let’s go. Find a safe place first, get some food. I’ll explain how we’ll bring down Prince Andre in three days—on the way.”

“Alright…”

Though still skeptical, since Li Ang was so confident and Alje had no better plan, he glanced once more at District 3, then turned and followed, half-believing, half-doubting.

Shortly after the two left, the soldiers in District 3 received new orders. A small contingent remained to continue their systematic search, while the rest quickly split into over a dozen squads and began inspecting all tall buildings with a view of District 3.

Yet when a squad reached the rooftop, Li Ang and Alje had already vanished from the building, using identification cards “borrowed” from passersby, lost among the crowd of onlookers.
