Chapter 939

~5 min read 997 words

“Duuu—”

A dull, thunderous military horn echoed across the Kingdom of Krook; within the 1-3 Industrial Zones, the Royal Family’s six direct military legions nearly simultaneously received mobilization orders—target…

“Surround the Wang Gong?!”

Upon learning the objective of this mobilization from the messenger, the commander of the First Land Army Legion of the Kingdom of Krook widened his eyes in disbelief and exclaimed:

“You want us to assemble troops to blockade the Wang Gong, deploy massive thermal weapons, and prepare to completely destroy the 1st Administrative Zone? Are you certain this is Emperor Fei En’s order?”

“I am certain.”

The messenger nodded, then handed over the written order and mechanical signal token, his cheeks twitching slightly as he said:

“Though it’s hard to comprehend, both the order and the token are genuine—verify them yourself. If there are no issues, mobilize immediately.”

“…”

Shocked, the commander took the order and token, quickly scanning the markings on the paper, then held the token against his wrist to verify the encrypted code; after confirming both were authentic, he fell silent for several seconds, then asked with suspicion:

“The documents are correct, but are you certain this order was personally signed by Emperor Fei En?”

Upon hearing the commander’s words, the messenger’s expression grew cold.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean—could the broadcast this morning, abruptly cut off, have been real?”

Seeing the messenger’s hostile expression, the commander narrowed his eyes, then signaled to his guards behind him to close in and restrain the messenger; he bluntly refused:

“Though our 1st through 6th Legions are Royal Direct Forces and should obey orders unconditionally, I now have reason to suspect that Prince Fei En has been… ah!”

With a scream, the commander flailed his hand as if bitten, desperately trying to shake it free—but the signal token clung to his palm like a powerful magnet, instantly erupting into a blinding violet-white arc of electricity.

“Commander!”

Surprised by the sudden change, the surrounding guards panicked—some rushed to support the fallen commander, others lunged toward the standing messenger—but…

“Zzzt…”

Sensing movement nearby, the violet-white arc instantly expanded, engulfing everyone within a fifteen-meter radius except the messenger himself.

Less than one-twentieth of a second later, every person within the arc collapsed to the ground; though still conscious, none could rise—they lay flat, staring upward in terror.

“This is a Micro-Current Bomb from Research Zone 3, scheduled for official deployment next June—currently still in trial phase.”

Raising his arm, the messenger showed the commander the ceramic chip on his wrist, then stated flatly:

“Without insulated patches, your nervous system is disrupted by the bomb’s electromagnetic field, causing total loss of bodily control—duration approximately one minute thirty seconds. You have one minute two seconds left to decide whether to obey this order.”

“You… damn…”

Struggling to open his paralyzed jaw, the commander slurred angrily:

“So… the broadcast… you… really… killed the Emperor…”

“Twenty-nine seconds left.”

“I… I will never…”

“Then I consider you’ve declined.”

After hearing the commander’s words, the messenger’s expression stiffened; he flipped the commander onto his stomach, removed his cap to expose the back of his head, then reached into his pocket, pulled out a spider-like device with six needle-like legs, and pressed it onto the commander’s occiput.

“You… what did you… do to me…”

“Don’t worry—it’s only a basic Soul Encoder. Won’t kill you.”

Adjusting the spider’s position, confirming all six needles had penetrated the commander’s scalp and made contact with the neural chip, the messenger touched his own occiput, then replied numbly:

“This is a product of Zone 1—it can encode a living soul at the most basic level, forcibly implanting several high-priority commands. As long as its internal energy source lasts, it will ensure your loyalty to the Kingdom.”

“I won’t… you…”

“When your paralysis ends, cover the encoder with your cap, assign guards to watch your personal troops, then mobilize immediately as ordered and prepare to destroy the Wang Gong.”

“…”

“Did you hear me?”

“…”

“Do you accept the order?”

“Yes!”

“Duuu—”

After several similar scenes, the Kingdom of Krook, already thrown into chaos by the morning broadcast, descended into even greater turmoil.

Though doubts lingered in their hearts, the soldiers of the six Royal Direct Legions, upon receiving orders from above, ultimately followed protocol—formed ranks, and swiftly mobilized, arriving at six surrounding districts encircling the Wang Gong.

Meanwhile, the Kingdom’s internal airships without gasbags, armored infantry walkers, all-terrain vehicles mounting multiple large-caliber cannons, and steam tanks covered in strange rivets had arrived even earlier, completely surrounding the Wang Gong with no escape.

“How could this happen so fast?!”

Peering out from Li Ang’s belly, the female cleaner Mo Na’s fragile soul gasped in horror as she watched the airships overhead adjusting position, angling their side-mounted cannons toward the Wang Gong.

“Alger was attacking the signal station—how could so many troops still be mobilized?”

“Alger only blocked the signal station—he didn’t seal off the entire Zone 1.”

Squinting toward the distance, Li Ang, who had just arrived at the Wang Gong’s gates, shook his head:

“Even if direct signals can’t be sent, they can still dispatch messengers to summon troops. In fact, if Alger hadn’t intervened, these troops would’ve arrived even faster.”

“Then wasn’t all our effort pointless?”

Hearing Li Ang’s words, Ruben’s soul also emerged, weakly asking:

“We went through so much trouble attacking the broadcast tower—wasn’t the point to stop him from summoning troops? But now he’s still brought them here!”

“This outcome is already better than expected.”

Li Ang smiled:

“This is their territory. One broadcast only causes chaos—it won’t topple him. After all, Prince Andre isn’t a fool—if he didn’t control his army, he’d have been overthrown long before we arrived.”

“But that was before. Now he’s ordered his troops to besiege the Wang Gong—like digging up his own tree roots to catch a mouse. He’s staked everything on this gamble. If we can survive this round, he can rest easy—his reign is over.”
