Chapter 1: Monster Beast Transformation Pill

"Difficult, difficult, difficult! How come I have a system now? My transmigration life is still this hard!"

In the wilderness, a black-haired man lay by the lake, holding a gourd high aloft, the liquor pouring down like a waterfall.

After gulping down a mouthful of liquor, the black-haired man gazed at the pure white moon high in the sky, his expression forlorn and bewildered.

The man's name is Bai Yuan, a transmigrator who crossed over to the Douluo Continent three months ago.

Back then, Bai Yuan awakened a system that would make him stronger by taking on disciples and teaching them; he had thought he would rise to the pinnacle of life on the Douluo Continent and win over all kinds of beauties.

But the system instead demanded that he teach people cultivation!

Practicing cultivation on the Douluo Continent is utterly absurd.

Nevertheless, for the system's rewards, Bai Yuan still went to recruit disciples, since snagging his first disciple would grant him a Newbie Gift Pack.

At first, Bai Yuan harbored great ambitions, earning some money from work and then seeking out Tang San, hoping to take this protagonist as his disciple.

But at that time Tang San had just become a disciple of Yu Xiaogang, and the Bai Yuan who rushed over was harshly humiliated by him.

Afterward, Bai Yuan held his breath and rushed about for several days just to find a disciple, but in the end nobody would accept him as a teacher at all.

Even if Bai Yuan sought out children lacking innate soul power and claimed he could help them cultivate, he would only be seen as a fraud.

By now, Bai Yuan's money is almost exhausted, yet he still hasn't found a disciple, and he even feels it's impossible for anyone to become his disciple.

After all, without innate soul power one cannot cultivate; lacking even a single Soul Ring makes one a weakling, which is common knowledge on the Douluo Continent.

Although Bai Yuan is indeed a weakling now…

"Could it be that after transmigrating and obtaining a system, I can only live an ordinary person's life?" Bai Yuan stared vacantly at the sky.

As a physical-body transmigrator, Bai Yuan naturally lacks a martial soul, making it impossible for him to grow stronger through this world's cultivation system.

"Who would be willing to be my disciple?! Anyone will do—I, as your master, guarantee to help you soar!" Bai Yuan slurred drunkenly.

A clear "ding" sound suddenly rang in his mind.

"Congratulations, host, on successfully taking on a disciple!"

"Ding! Newbie Gift Pack being distributed! Congratulations, host, on obtaining the Current Most Needed Item Treasure Chest!"

Bai Yuan shot up to a sitting position, his heart overflowing with joy.

He has a disciple! He had merely shouted casually just now, yet he actually completed the system's novice task!

Truly, after searching high and low, it came to him without any effort.

Recalling the time since his transmigration, Bai Yuan couldn't help but tear up.

Suppressing his inner excitement, Bai Yuan scanned his surroundings, striving to locate his disciple's figure, but saw not a single person.

"System, where is my disciple?"

Bai Yuan asked anxiously in his heart.

The system gave no reply, but a guide icon resembling those in a game appeared before Bai Yuan's eyes.

Bai Yuan shifted his gaze; looking at the spot the guide icon pointed to, his whole being felt awful, as if he had fallen into an autistic state.

"My disciple… is a lotus flower?"

After a moment of stunned silence, Bai Yuan snapped, "System, are you messing with me? How can I communicate with a lotus? It's not even a hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast—how am I supposed to teach it cultivation?"

The aloof system never responded to the host's questioning; only a icon visible to Bai Yuan remained, pointing straight at the lotus swaying in the wind on the lake.

"This lotus should be a plant-type Soul Beast a few hundred years old, having barely awakened its spiritual intelligence; it became my disciple, so it shouldn't attack me."

Bai Yuan dove into the water and swam toward the lake; the water was cool, but being summer, he only felt refreshed.

Not long after, Bai Yuan swam up beside his disciple.

Previously, from afar he hadn't noticed, but now upon close inspection Bai Yuan realized the lotus was huge—its diameter about ten feet, its height reaching five or six meters.

"Forget it, let's first check that treasure chest." Bai Yuan opened his awakening panel.

{Host: Bai Yuan}

{Cultivation: Mortal}

{Item: Current Most Needed Treasure Chest}

{Disciple Count: 1}

{Bound Disciple: None (Current Binding Limit: 1) (After binding a disciple, each time that disciple advances, the host will gain the same amount of cultivation.)}

"View the attributes of the Current Most Needed Treasure Chest."

Bai Yuan murmured silently.

{Current Most Needed Treasure Chest: Upon use, it will grant four items the host currently needs most, with random quality and quantity. }

Bai Yuan's eyes lit up.

This thing is practically a divine artifact!

"Use!"

"Ding! Congratulations, host, you obtained Monster Beast Transformation Pill ×1, Qi Refining Pill ×3, Qi Refining Pill Formula ×1, and Azure Lotus Heavenly Heart Technique ×1."

{Monster Beast Transformation Pill: Enables a monster beast that has not yet reached the Golden Core stage to transform early; the host can pre‑shape its appearance. }

{Qi Refining Pill: When taken by an ordinary person, it increases the chance of successfully entering Qi Refining; when taken by a Qi Refining cultivator, it boosts the speed of Qi Refining. }

{Qi Refining Pill Formula: The formula for refining Qi Refining Pills, already modified to use medicinal ingredients available in the Douluo Continent. }

{Azure Lotus Heavenly Heart Technique: A cultivation method for lotus demons; when perfected, it can transform into a Chaotic Azure Lotus, possessing the power to open up a universe. }

Bai Yuan was overjoyed; the Monster Beast Transformation Pill truly relieved his urgent need, living up to being the Current Most Needed Treasure Chest.

"Dear disciple, as your master I will now grant you the ability that only a hundred‑thousand‑year Soul Beast possesses." Bai Yuan produced the transformation pill.

The pill was flawless, entirely transparent like water, emitting a faint fragrance, and within it seemed to be a faint human‑shaped illusion.

"System, how should I shape my disciple's appearance?"

Demonic beasts taking human form actually create a human image for themselves, so female demons are all beautiful.

As for male demons, they perhaps think their appearance is the coolest, tall and mighty, full of muscles, fierce and vicious, to demonstrate their strength.

Just like muscular hunks think, such big muscles easily attract girls' attention.

Plants are especially unique; they can be said to be hermaphroditic, or to have no gender.

Before Bai Yuan appeared a face‑pinching model, but this face‑pinching is all‑around, including physique, skin tone, etc.

"This is practically a custom‑made disciple."

Bai Yuan licked his lips, a thought moved, and the figure model in mid‑air also moved accordingly.

Soon, a proud, buxom elder sister with snow‑white waist‑long hair and wine‑red pupils appeared.

After Bai Yuan carefully admired her for a while, he couldn't help shaking his head.

"No! No! I still have to bring her to find Yu Xiaogang for revenge; I can't make her this big, otherwise I can't enter the All‑Continent Soul Master Tournament."

In Bai Yuan's mind flashed the recent scene of him going to find Tang San, wanting to take him as a disciple, only to be humiliated by them and then thrown out of the Noding Academy by the gatekeeper.

"I will cultivate and establish a xianxia academy, and at the All‑Continent Soul Master Tournament, I'll beat Shrek Academy to a pulp!"

Bai Yuan made up his mind, and the proud elder sister's appearance before him quickly changed; soon she became a little loli.

The little loli still had those wine‑red gorgeous eyes, but her snow‑white waist‑long hair turned into two buns, also adorned with lotus‑shaped decorations.

"Not bad." Bai Yuan smiled, restored his disciple's figure to normal, then while taking off his coarse‑cloth robe, he placed the Transformation Pill on the lotus stalk.

The Transformation Pill merged into it; the huge lotus was completely enveloped by light, then melted like liquid, finally becoming a little loli topped with two buns.
