Chapter 254: Do You Bully the Land of the Human Race Because There Is No One Here!
Myriad Wastes Realm.
A city.
A grand, towering megacity, like a vast mountain ridge, stood mightily here. The megacity was enormous, spanning three hundred thousand li, with walls rising over a thousand meters high. Seen from afar, it looked like an ancient mountain ridge, sitting there, towering straight into the heavens. Stars circled the Shanfeng, exuding a majestic air.
This was a Fate Domain, enclosed by towering walls into an ancient megacity. The Myriad Wastes Realm called this Fate Domain the Land of the Human Race, and the city was named "Human City."
Two simple words, representing everything.
One could faintly see countless people within the megacity, living and multiplying, their lives and deaths alternating like morning and evening.
However…
That was the scene of the past. Now, the megacity was facing an extremely tragic great battle. The five great races of the Myriad Wastes Realm, united with other races, had brought forth gods and demons one after another, charging at the megacity, devouring anyone they saw, swallowing them by the hundreds of thousands in a single bite, one person after another being consumed.
Many were resisting.
A youth who had once brimmed with hot blood, full of hope for the future, now stained with blood all over, had a brilliant flame burning between his brows.
He was burning his soul, his spirit; the moment they burned out would be the moment his divine soul perished. But he had no regrets, no complaints. He leapt down from the city wall in one bound, brandishing his battle halberd as he fought and roared:
"For Human City, for the continuation of ten thousand years of glory—kill!!!"
He slew four beings of the same level before finally dying of exhaustion.
Before death, he did not weep, did not regret; what he had was hearty laughter, his weapon held high.
"To be born human is my honor. I go on ahead of you, my kinsfolk."
One figure after another leapt down, roaring a ringing battle song, charging forward without looking back.
No one retreated.
No one fled.
The warriors were fired up, hot blood burning within them. Not only that burning-soul youth, but far too many charged out to fight, battling those inherently powerful racial beings, battling those massive, terrifying-aura beings, each one fighting to the death for immortality.
Lives blossomed, souls burned, without regret or complaint.
What fell was sweat; what spilled was blood.
But what they left behind was their names, their indomitable will. With their bodies and lives they paved a road of piled white bones, only so that later generations might have a piece of land to shelter from the sun, to continue the bloodline of humans, to continue the glory of humans. They went to their deaths with open hearts.
"The human race! Mere ants. Ants should do what ants are supposed to do. Any attempt to resist, any attempt to rise, is useless."
A humanoid being with ghost horns, six crystal-like wings sprouting from its back, clad in black armor all over, stood in the nine heavens. The aura it emitted was incomparably powerful, affecting the void, shaking space; its figure was hazy.
This was an invincible god or demon.
A cold snort.
"You don't know what's good for you."
The moment the words left its mouth, the boundless wasteland before the megacity was about to be torn apart, the firmament cracking like a mirror, the void splitting.
"God King!"
Beings cried out in alarm.
This was a God King—equivalent to a Great Sage among the human race. Such beings rarely emerged even once in several thousand years, yet now one had appeared for the sake of annihilating the human race.
"He is the God King of the Ghost Horn Race."
Voices came from among the besieging racial beings.
God King.
A being even more terrifying than gods and demons, beyond comparison with them—the invincible among gods and demons.
The appearance of the God King thrilled the besieging races, their morale soaring to the extreme.
It had already been three thousand years since a God King had taken action. Now a God King had emerged, about to strike—the human race was finished.
Boom!!
In an instant, three half-step Sages of the human race, close to the Sage realm, exploded in the void.
The Ghost Horn Race's God King opened its mouth, like a bottomless black hole, like a dark abyss, drawing in everything, souls included.
"Do you bully the Land of the Human Race because there is no one here!!!"
A heaven-shaking, earth-shattering shout.
The three-hundred-thousand-li Human City, stretching from heaven to earth, was all trembling.
Beam after beam of light shot skyward, twelve in total. Each beam was resplendent; divine radiance adorned heaven and earth, the light outshining the sun above, like twelve great suns of the nine heavens.
Granting this heaven and earth light, granting this heaven and earth warmth.
Divine radiance blazed, brimming with divinity, yet unlike the gods and demons of the besieging races, it carried a touch of humanity—without ruthlessness or coldness, with the warmth and chill of human feeling.
"The Twelve Sages of the human race!!"
The beings of the great races changed color. Those who came were the gods and demons of the human race, the Sages who guarded Human City and sheltered this land's peace.
Not a single word was spoken.
Twelve Sages, among whom were beings who had reached the Great Sage level. Divine light flowed in abundance, their vast aura seizing heaven and earth. They struck together, pressing down upon the Ghost Horn Race's God King.
Boom!!!
As if heaven and earth were being torn apart—terrible beyond compare.
In the wasteland behind the great armies of the various races, fissures like heavenly moats and ravines split open, spreading from the earth up into the high sky. Those were void cracks, within them was nothingness, pitch-black, as if they could swallow even light. Yet now they burst forth with terrifying five-colored radiance.
Twenty-three fissures, from which stepped twenty-three beings of varied forms, all surging with incomparably powerful god-and-demon auras.
"We've been waiting for you a long time, human gods and demons!"
The god-and-demon beings stepped out of the void cracks. Behind them, the ferocious, terrifying void that could split ten thousand Shanhe instantly healed.
The beings of the great races were thrilled, their morale soaring to its peak.
Those were the gods, demons, and God Kings of their races, hidden within the void, waiting for the Twelve Sages of the human race to appear, coming specifically for them, to slay the pillars of the human race.
Twenty-three gods and demons!
Such a grand array was rarely seen in the Myriad Wastes Realm across all ages. Their number surpassed the Twelve Sages, nearly twice as many.
They were determined to plunge the lands of the human race into despair and utterly annihilate this weak race that they feared.
The gods and demons appeared.
Within the Human City, the people's eyes blazed with unprecedented intensity—filled with fury, with madness, yet not a single one showed fear.
In this cruel world, where survival of the fittest was pushed to its absolute extreme, countless races rose and fell. Those who could not adapt to the law of the strong devouring the weak were eliminated; many races vanished into the long river of history. Yet this race, born weak, surviving in such a cruel world—anyone could imagine how many near-extinction crises they had endured, how they should have long since disappeared into the river of history.
But they survived. They weathered hardship after hardship, crisis after crisis. Generation after generation, their forebears sacrificed themselves to explore, to devote, to lay down their lives for the rise of the race, paving the road for posterity with their own blood.
They endured, never becoming the dust of history—instead becoming the brightest stars upon the long river of history.
And now, the five great races together with the major races had come in force, twenty-three gods and demons emerging into the world—this was an unprecedented great crisis.
The greatest extinction crisis the human race had ever faced in all of history.
But they were fearless, without dread, charging straight ahead.
For tens of thousands of years, their ancestors had traded their lives to win ten thousand years of glory for them. They had only pride; the weak heart had long since been tempered into something unyielding, impossible to shake.
Even tiny ants may have the possibility of toppling an elephant.
At this moment, they were united as one; from their frail bodies burst forth boundless strength. Though the humans numbered in the hundreds of millions, their thoughts were one and the same!
Since the ages could not accommodate them, then with their lives and blood they would carve a grievous wound into the myriad races on this day—a wound that would make them remember this day forever, forever remember that there once was a race as weak as ants, yet one that had given the great races infinite threat, forcing them to join hands to grind it out of existence.
They would make the great races remember today as a shameful memory that could never be erased—a psychological shadow left upon them by a race called the "Human Race."
