Chapter 88: The Absurd Speculations of the Void Demons
Thinking of the elegant figure who would never lie, a giant of the Void Demon Realm clasped his head, bowing low, face pale, his once piercing eyes now stripped of tyrannical grandeur, filled only with disbelief and despair.
"We're merely descendants of lab mice—how could this be, how could this be?"
He lifted his head, gazing at this vast, boundless land—the very expanse that once stirred his boundless ambition, the land he had sought to conquer and rule as the sole sovereign.
"This world was made. It's just an experiment site."
He said.
In his despair, he shuddered—from body to spirit.
A world like this—created? What kind of immense power would be needed? How powerful must the one who created this world be? Unimaginable.
"So all this talk of demonic god descendants is fake—we're just descendants of lab specimens, created by the Creator to study something? In plain terms, we're just defective products, nothing compared to those things…"
The moment he realized he was second-rate, the powerful mental discipline cultivated by the Demon Lord of the Demon Temple over centuries shattered instantly.
His psyche collapsed.
He desperately tried to stabilize his mind, calm his emotions—but he couldn't settle at all, because beside him, his subordinates were pouring overwhelming negative emotions into him.
Remember, they were giants of the Void Demon Realm, possessing minds far stronger than ordinary Void Demons—yet even their mental fortitude had shattered under today's shock, let alone the others.
Across the vast Void Demon Realm, at least a third of the Void Demons had gone mad; the rest were mentally shattered.
"I'm a bastard—I'm goddamn a bastard!" A Void Demon who had once prided himself on his lineage, eyes bloodshot, screamed in helpless, humiliating rage.
For so long, they had taken pride in being Void Demons, believing themselves the noblest beings in the Void Demon Realm—yet now they were no different from the cats and dogs of this realm.
Even worse!
Perhaps these cats and dogs had purer bloodlines—after all, they weren't hybrids. Maybe they were even thrown in by the Creator as food for us, their bloodlines surely superior and untainted.
With his cherished identity shattered, he suddenly felt every animal around him staring at him with mockery—silent ridicule, whispering that he was a bastard, inferior to their noble blood.
At that moment.
One Void Demon desperately tried to soothe his collapsing psyche, shifting his focus—and instantly began rambling, thinking wildly: of the legend of the strongest demonic god, of the Buddha's hand, of lab specimens, and more.
Then, as if he'd just understood something, he turned pale with shock.
"Lord, could the strongest demonic god… be the Creator himself?"
The Demon Lord of the Demon Temple froze, then sharply turned his head.
The Void Demon didn't delay—he didn't wait for the Lord to ask, but rushed to speak:
"Our Void Demon Realm has always passed down the legend of the strongest demonic god, and the timeline of that legend traces back to the very origin of this world.
So, Lord, could it be possible that the legends of the demonic god wars and the strongest demonic god are true—but their details have been twisted?
The demonic gods said to have been born from heaven and earth weren't born of heaven and earth at all—they were born alongside this world, because they were the very first lab specimens!
They believed themselves born of heaven and earth simply because this world and they emerged together, unaware that this world was nothing but an experiment ground designed for them."
"What's your evidence?" the Lord asked.
Hearing this, the Void Demon replied quickly:
"The evidence is this: the strongest demonic god is the Creator. If the strongest demonic god is the Creator, everything makes sense.
Think, Lord—every demonic god was a lab specimen. They fought so fiercely their experiment ground nearly collapsed. As the Creator, he wouldn't want his experiment ruined—otherwise, he couldn't uncover the secrets, and would have to start over.
So the Creator intervened—he wiped out every rebellious demonic god, leaving only the quiet ones, our ancestors. That's why the legend has been passed down since ancient times: our ancestors tried to tell us the truth—that we are lab specimens.
But our ancestors feared the Creator would discover it, so they wrapped the truth in a veil: they disguised it as the legend of the demonic gods and the strongest demonic god, leaving it for us to uncover on our own.
The Creator actually gave us huge hints—we just ignored them, treating the legend as mere folk tales, stories to amuse children.
The hint is simple. I think you've already realized it, Lord.
Yes—it's the strongest demonic god's intervention. According to the legend, the strongest demonic god slept until the demonic gods nearly shattered heaven and earth, then awakened to act. But that's illogical. There are three contradictions.
First: why did only the strongest demonic god sleep, while all others stayed awake?
Second: the timing is too coincidental—the world collapsed, and the strongest demonic god woke up.
Third: if the strongest demonic god only woke because the demonic gods nearly destroyed the world, why didn't he awaken when they first began fighting? After all, their power was equally immense from start to finish.
The story makes no sense—but if we combine it with Him…"
The Void Demon involuntarily glanced at the elegant figure in the sky, shrank back, and whispered:
"Combined with His description of the Creator, everything becomes logical.
Because the strongest demonic god is the Creator—he deliberately allowed the demonic god wars to rage, waiting until the very moment heaven and earth were about to collapse before acting.
And our ancestors dared to pass this down—perhaps because they noticed the Creator hadn't come to observe them for a long time, yet feared he might return, so they crafted a similar legend. After all, He said the Creator acts on whim—once he loses interest, he abandons his experiments. And with distractions from over there, he eventually gave up on this experiment. Too bad our ancestors didn't know this—if they had, they wouldn't have needed to fabricate the legend."
The Demon Lord of the Demon Temple froze completely, his mind trembling violently.
Long silence.
Finally, he came to his senses, opened his mouth, expression complex.
"Our ancestors already gave us the truth—we just never saw it."
Unconsciously, the Demon Lord of the Demon Temple looked toward the elegant figure in the sky.
"We've wasted our ancestors' efforts. Sigh—thinking this way, we should thank the Sacrificial Lord. But what exactly did he do? How did he provoke someone from the Creator's camp? Could it really be that he waged war on another realm and somehow reached the Creator's world? But I remember his perception was always accurate—he only attacked weak realms. How could he have recklessly provoked a world like the Creator's?"
At that moment, the earlier Void Demon ventured a guess:
"He probably got too full of himself—thought he was powerful enough to destroy heaven and earth, believed he could carve out a place in that world."
His words received unanimous agreement from the Void Demons, including the Demon Lord of the Demon Temple.
Only this explanation could justify the Sacrificial Lord's suicidal act.
