Chapter 103: Return to Yingu Once More
Feitian Sect, Earth Dragon Gang, and their Strange Beasts.
Baichuan seemed to recall that time again — he had originally planned to set his sights on the Strange Beast within Yingu, but the opponent was too strong and he too weak, so he could only leave helplessly.
Now, he finally had the confidence to return. The Strange Beast's ability — he had coveted it for far, far too long.
He plunged once more into the river channel ahead, swimming swiftly upstream against the surging current.
In an instant, a massive white wave rose within the rushing river — that was the flood dragon serpent forging upstream!
How exaggerated!
This was Jianghe Ruhaikou, where the river's flow ran fastest, its depths riddled with countless treacherous undercurrents and whirlpools — any ordinary person or creature that fell in would face nine deaths and no survival!
Its impact force could even rival, to a certain extent, a flood Burst.
In the past, he could even borrow this force to leap into the air and simulate a flood dragon's run; but now, he could easily surge straight upstream against the rushing current.
Such force — once flung upon a creature's fragile flesh, what a spectacular scene it would produce.
Soon, Baichuan returned underwater to that stretch where the crocodiles were most concentrated, though unlike before when he had kept his distance from battle.
This time, Baichuan did not return to shore; instead, his eyes went cold, and he lashed his massive tail fin in an even more explosive Burst.
In an instant, a small vacuum zone appeared in the river behind his tail.
Beneath the thunderous crash of water, Baichuan's slender body shot forth like a siege crossbow bolt fired through the water.
So swift was his speed that his blade-sharp dorsal fin even faintly carved a vacuum zone through the river!
In the blink of an eye, Baichuan charged straight through that clustered mass of crocodiles.
Water sprayed in all directions; several crocodiles were sent flying straight out of the river — pitiful creatures hurled aloft by the tremendous impact force he carried as he blasted past.
Looking closely, one could even see blood seeping from the corners of those crocodiles' mouths, their bodies broken across wide areas.
And at the very center where Baichuan had just charged through, a great bloom of blood spread slowly through the water.
Faintly visible, a large mass of mangled flesh rose within the river current flowing back.
That was the crocodile struck head-on by Baichuan! At this moment, it had been reduced to a formless lump of mangled flesh, no longer bearing any shape of a crocodile.
The sudden, unexpected disaster left the surviving crocodiles staring blankly at all this, as if unable to process what had just happened.
Only then did Baichuan finally stop moving — even after such a terrifying impact, his entire body remained utterly unscathed.
He slowly turned around, looking at the carnage he had wrought before him.
With this movement, the crocodiles finally snapped out of it, twisting their heads one after another to stare at Baichuan.
Baichuan paid this no heed; he simply swam slowly back under the gaze of the crocodiles.
Ignoring the eyes of the crocodiles, he simply extended a claw and, as casually as fishing a fry out from among french fries, scooped up one lucky crocodile, brought it to his mouth, and bit down.
A crisp sound rang out from Baichuan's mouth — like a summer cucumber, crisp and sweet — and Baichuan munched away contentedly, one bite, one section at a time.
Those crisp sounds, one after another, seemed so delightful that anyone who heard them couldn't help but feel their appetite whetted, saliva secreting on its own.
But to the crocodiles, that sound was no different from the devil's music of hell!
The crocodiles finally came to their senses, fear surfacing in their eyes one by one.
Instantly, driven by the instinctive terror of living creatures, a large group of crocodiles thrashed their tails and scattered in all directions.
Seeing this, Baichuan paid it no mind, merely casually scooping up another small crocodile that seemed to have run the wrong way — straight toward him.
Mm — crocodiles under three meters were, to the eighteen-meter Baichuan, really nothing more than slightly larger cucumbers.
He found this way of eating rather tasty, with a kind of crispy crunch to it…
After two crocodiles, comparatively petite beside him, settled into his stomach, Baichuan felt his belly once again somewhat sated. Gazing at the sky that seemed to be growing somewhat overcast, he took his leave.
The weather — he had a feeling a heavy downpour might be coming.
But what did that have to do with him? In fact, he liked the rain even more now.
This time, he did not linger, heading straight for Yingu.
And for the sake of concealment, when leaving the river channel, he folded in his wings and entered the Mimicry Octopus's "Huanjing Moni LV3" stealth state, no longer taking to the air.
Because with his current size, once he took Flight, the howling wind from his wingbeats could, to a certain extent, rival the roar of an airplane.
That would be the opposite of hiding — it would be like slapping them across the face and announcing: he had arrived, in broad daylight.
Soon, an hour later.
Baichuan spotted, in the distance, that familiar Yingu cliff face.
He looked around, then began climbing the steep mountain beside it.
As he drew closer, when he climbed the steep cliff face, the environment within Yingu gradually fell within his now greatly expanded perception range — that is, within a three-kilometer radius centered on him.
But just then, Baichuan suddenly froze, as if he had seen something that shattered his worldview, his heart churning within.
Because within his perception, he saw that inside the nearby cliff face, there existed a mysterious great hollow!
Within the great hollow, a massive pile of deformed corpses, large and small, along with all manner of shredded flesh and limbs, were heaped together like garbage, mingled with blood and flesh to form a small hill as tall as a mountain.
At the base of the hill flowed an endless stream of liquid — even though Baichuan had not seen it with his own eyes, and his perception could only distinguish it as a liquid, he could still guess that it was blood!
At once, connecting this with the bizarre powers of this world and Zhang Dadan's past actions, Baichuan seemed to have guessed something, and wanted to confirm it personally.
With this mindset, he slowly approached the direction indicated by his perception.
Although, for the sake of concealment, he could not use Flight, and the terrain here was so steep and smooth.
But Baichuan's claws were no pushover either — sharp and hard, they sank deep into the mountain as easily as piercing tofu. Step by step, claw by claw, he made his way across.
Leaving behind, along the way, claw-holes one after another, bottomless, each large enough to fit a human body.
That place was built within the interior of a cliff face as smooth as a blade — somewhere ordinary people could never reach — a hollow carved out by force from within the mountain.
And the reason Baichuan had discovered it this time was because he had wanted to approach and sneak in from above Yingu.
So, by this stroke of luck, that hidden hollow happened to fall within the three-kilometer range of Baichuan's perception.
Thus, under Baichuan's ceaseless emission of all-penetrating ultrasonic detection, the information that a great hollow existed within the mountain slowly surfaced in his mind.
Such a hidden place — unless one knew that a mountain hollow existed there specifically, and possessed both Flight and wide-range perception, one would never, by any chance, discover it.
Because it was too well hidden!
The entire great hollow within the mountain had only one opening, barely large enough for a child, to enter and exit, and the area around this opening was overgrown with dense trees, while outside stood sheer rock walls as smooth as blades.
Under such circumstances, unless one knew in advance that an opening existed there, and also possessed the ability of Flight, how could one possibly approach it?
While pondering, Baichuan had also arrived before that narrow opening; it was obvious that with his build, he could not enter it…
