Chapter 196: The Broken Iron Law, the Shocked Black-Robed Existence

~7 min read 1,318 words

Just as the black-robed existence was about to teleport away, a faint pale-purple thread of fire arrived in an instant.

"Sizzle~~"

BOOM!

BOOM!!

BOOM!!!

In an instant, first came a faint sizzling sound.

Then, centered on the path the pale-purple thread of fire had cut through, one terrifying explosion after another began to detonate; beneath that massive blast wave, the very earth of the entire Yanjang Zhidi trembled without cease.

Before long, a rain of red fire began to fall from the sky!

It was countless droplets of searing magma that had been hurled into the air by the violent blasts, only now falling back down!

At this moment, it was just such a faint, unremarkable thread of fire, yet it caused the temperature of the entire Yanjang Zhidi to skyrocket violently.

This was an utterly astonishing phenomenon.

The instigator of it all, the Primordial Dragon, gazing upon the tremendous might its single strike had wrought, was also somewhat shaken.

It simply widened those burning dragon eyes, staring at the terrifying scene it had created.

Murmuring to itself, was this the power its Father God had bestowed upon it?

Do not think that the spectacle of this attack might be less grand than its previous Burst of flame.

But that was because the attack power of the thread of fire was far too inwardly compressed; this was truly condensing its own power into a single point before unleashing it, not like before when it seemed spectacular and terrifying on the surface, yet its actual power was scattered and feeble — against any being slightly stronger, it could not possibly break through their defenses.

"Hiss~"

Yet just then, a sudden stinging pain shot through its mouth and throat, and that stinging pain instantly jolted it awake from its shock.

Only then did it, to its astonishment, discover that it — the Lord of Flame, the master of fire's power — had, for once, been burned by fire!

Yes, burned by fire!!

This was the kind of statement that, spoken aloud, would be hard to believe; one might even think it was mocking others — how could the dignified Lord of Flame possibly be burned by mere fire?!

Wasn't this some kind of joke?

Yet at this moment, reality had truly come to pass!

Feeling that rare burning sensation within its body, like a line extending from its chest all the way to its mouth.

The Primordial Dragon clicked its tongue.

Although this slight wound from the burning sensation had already begun to rapidly recover under its powerful Regeneration.

But in that instant, the Primordial Dragon gained a clearer understanding of its Father God's power.

In the past it only knew that its Father God was incomparably powerful, the true deity of this world… no, the Creator!

But just how powerful, it could not imagine, because it had never seen its Father God act.

Yet now, merely the power its Father God had given it — and it had only driven a single, still incomplete strike — had caused it injury.

Then, when this power was truly unleashed in full, how terrifying would it be?

And at the same time, the Father God who had bestowed this power upon it — how immensely powerful must He be?

One must understand that this power was merely an insignificant fraction of the power upon its Father God's person; it even suspected that this power had been considerably weakened when its Father God gave it to him.

Because back then its Father God had once told it: before truly growing strong enough to completely control this power, if no crisis arose, do not lightly employ this power.

Because this power caused far too much harm to oneself.

And this was merely employing a small portion of that power; the other portion had not truly been used together at all.

If both were used at once, how powerful would it be?

Could its own body truly withstand the might that leaked out unintentionally from the power?

The Primordial Dragon did not know, but it hoped there would be no need to use that strike.

At this moment, however shaken it was within, it had not forgotten that it was still battling an uninvited guest from another world.

Under such an attack, that being from another world should be dead, right?

If not dead, then at least injured, right?

At this moment, it whispered within.

As that violent commotion slowly subsided, the billowing smoke and dust began to disperse; before long, the battlefield that had been directly blasted by the searing thread of fire was finally revealed once more.

At a glance, in the corner struck by the thread of fire, all the magma had vanished!

What lay exposed was no longer the previously glowing-red, high-temperature sea of magma fire, but a blackened, ravaged wasteland!

And within that broken, sunken earth, a black-robed existence stood towering there.

And its appearance seemed no different from before.

Had it had no effect?

At this moment, the Primordial Dragon's heart grew solemn — even such a powerful attack had no effect whatsoever on that being?

Feeling that the wounds within its body had already gradually healed, it made a resolute decision within its heart —

To fully unleash that power within its body!

Yet at this moment, on the opposite side, the black-robed existence's heart was also shaken beyond measure.

Don't be fooled by its current appearance of being completely uninjured; that seemingly insignificant attack earlier had passed through the Protective Shield it had erected as easily as piercing rotten mud, and then had gone on to pierce through its demigod body.

If not for the fact that this demigod body of its was special and capable of elementalization.

And at the moment that attack was about to erupt, it had first dodged the vital points, then completely transformed into formless magic power and dispersed.

It might well have truly suffered grave injury from that single strike.

Yet even so, its body had shrunk by a small portion; if not for its body being held in check by the black robe it wore, then at this moment its already-shrunken legs would have been exposed.

All of that was caused by resisting that single attack.

However, these were not what shocked it the most; what truly shocked it was —

The iron law that had held unshakeable in his world for countless years — that all beneath the Divine Realm were ants — was shattered!

And the one who broke it was precisely the dragon race before his eyes, suspected to be an innate Spirit from another world!

It had actually been able, at the Legendary Realm, to forcibly smash through a defense laid down by the Divine Realm.

Even though he was only a Demigod, between a Demigod and those beneath the Demigod Realm lay a chasm so deep one could not see the bottom!

In his world, from ancient times to the present, there had never been a single being who could use power beneath the Divine Realm to break through a defense laid down above the Divine Realm.

Even the strongest among Spirits — the supreme, exalted great Main God — could not achieve this without first employing the Laws under His dominion!

And Laws are precisely the hallmark of the Divine Realm.

Beneath the Divine Realm, there is simply no resistance against Laws!

Even though it had left its original world and was thus invisibly stripped of the augmentation of the Laws between heaven and earth, the essence of magical power refined by Laws was still not something any being beneath the Divine Realm could break.

But now, this iron law has been broken.

What this implies hardly needs saying — surely no being understands it more clearly than he, who was stuck at the Demigod Realm, bitterly unable to advance!
