Chapter 30: Dainichi Nyorai

In the current situation, Taiqing Laozi came in person.

Hearing the words of Lu Ya Daoist, Taiqing Laozi nodded with satisfaction.

He smiled at Lu Ya Daoist and said, "Rest assured, with me here, those Western Two Sages dare not touch you. This journey heading west will surely allow you to plot for that Buddhism Qi Luck; even if you cannot attain the Dao and become a Saint, it will be of great benefit to you."

Presumably, Taiqing Laozi also knew that the promise of attaining the Dao and becoming a Saint was somewhat unbelievable.

Lu Ya Daoist only felt a deep sense of powerlessness.

Without becoming a Saint, one is ultimately an ant.

Even a Quasi-Sage is merely a chess piece in the games played between Saints.

Yet in this era, how is one to attain the Dao and become a Saint?

Lu Ya Daoist had always been confident, because he carried the bloodline of the most ancient Golden Crow Imperial Clan.

But he still had not the slightest clue about becoming a Saint.

Back during the Lich Calamity, the Demon Race swept across the world, looking down upon the Myriad Clans.

His father, Demon Emperor Dijun, and his uncle Donghuang Taiyi, the two most brilliant and peerless Heavenly Prides in the history of the Demon Race, both fell on the path to attaining the Dao and becoming a Saint.

How could he be any different?

Riding his green ox, Taiqing Laozi took Lu Ya Daoist west out of Hangu Pass, traveling westward all the way.

Along this journey, purple mist rolled in, and golden light illuminated the heavens and earth.

Upon arriving at the land of Western Lingshan, Lu Ya Daoist suddenly felt a flash of inspiration.

Lu Ya Daoist spoke loudly to proclaim to the heavens and earth.

"I, Lu Ya Daoist, today take up residence in Western Lingshan as the Dainichi Nyorai of the West."

As the words fell, boundless Buddha light shone down.

Bodhisattvas lowered their brows, Buddhas smiled, and Vajras stood guard.

With every step Lu Ya Daoist took, lotuses bloomed beneath his feet; in the blink of an eye, he transformed from a Daoist into a Buddha.

The rolling Qi Luck of the Lingshan Buddhism surged toward Lu Ya Daoist—or rather, toward Dainichi Nyorai.

This was the recognition from the Qi Luck of Lingshan Buddhism, acknowledging Dainichi Nyorai as the natural Buddha of Fomen.

Taiqing Laozi said with some surprise, "I did not expect that this Lu Ya Daoist would actually have the bearing of a Buddha."

Originally, choosing Lu Ya Daoist was only for the purpose of seizing the Qi Luck of Buddhism.

But who would have thought that this Lu Ya Daoist would be so compatible with Western Fomen, becoming the Buddha of Fomen immediately upon taking residence in Western Lingshan.

However, this was also good; it could more quickly sever the foundations of Buddhism and seize its Qi Luck.

Thinking of this, Taiqing Laozi laughed heartily and said, "Jieyin, Zhunti, no matter how much you calculate and scheme, you will still be making wedding clothes for me. So what if you betrayed the Mysterious Gate? You must know that Buddha is originally Dao."

Taiqing Laozi converted barbarians into Buddha, sending Lu Ya Daoist into Western Lingshan.

Seeing Lu Ya Daoist transform into the Fomen Dainichi Nyorai, he turned and left.

Not long after, Taiqing Laozi proclaimed to the heavens and earth.

"Heavenly Dao above, I, Taiqing Laozi, Leader of the Ren Sect, today transform the Ren Sect into Taoism."

Taiqing Laozi had originally established the Ren Sect, passing down the Golden Elixir Great Dao among the Human Race.

Using Humanity's Fortune as a foundation, he eventually attained the Dao as a Heavenly Dao Sage.

But later on, Taiqing Laozi had always wanted to transform the Ren Sect into Taoism.

The Ren Sect educated the Human Race, while Taoism educated the Myriad Clans.

During the Investiture of the Gods Great Calamity, the Ren Sect was actually already being called Taoism by everyone.

It was just that, all this time, Taiqing Laozi had not truly proclaimed to the heavens and earth to change the Ren Sect into Taoism.

Now that the Western Two Sages had established Buddhism and betrayed the Mysterious Gate lineage, Taiqing Laozi did not hesitate.

He truly began to proclaim to the heavens and earth, transforming the Ren Sect into Taoism to contend with Buddhism.

"I shall retire to Heaven Beyond Heaven, and appoint Taishang Laojun as the second-generation Leader of the Daoist Religion."

Taiqing Laozi appointed Taishang Laojun as the Leader of the Daoist Religion, to take residence in the Heavenly Court's Doushuai Palace and oversee the affairs of Taoism.

The primary goal was to suppress Buddhism, preferably to pull Buddhism up by its roots.

And just after Taishang Laojun joined the Heavenly Court, Qin Hao received several hundred million in Qi Luck, not at all inferior to Duobao Daoren.

At the same time, the Western Two Sages, Jieyin Daoren and Zhunti Daoren, also saw the actions of Taiqing Laozi.

Long ago, Jieyin Daoren and Zhunti Daoren were clear about Taiqing Laozi's precautions against them.

If not for the Investiture of the Gods Great Calamity, where the Three Pure Ones turned against each other and engaged in mutual slaughter,

the Western Two Sages would likely still not have found an opportunity.

Now that they have established Buddhism and defected from the Mysterious Gate lineage, Taiqing Laozi naturally cannot sit still.

Jieyin Daoren and Zhunti Daoren had long since made preparations.

Zhunti Daoren pondered and said to Jieyin Daoren, "Senior Brother, why not expel that Lu Ya Daoist?"

"Expel? Why should we expel him?"

"Taiqing has sent a Buddha to our Buddhism; why should we expel him?"

Taiqing Laozi knows about the Convert Barbarians into Buddha and is scheming against Buddhism.

But the great trend of the world is not something that can be decided so easily.

Saints are high above, but even Saints cannot decide everything.

Between people, it all comes down to interests in the end.

After the Great Calamity of the Investiture of the Gods, why did so many Disciples of the Saints flee into Buddhism?

That is because Buddhism could bring them enough benefits.

From the moment Taiqing Laozi sent Lu Ya Daoist into Buddhism, some things were no longer for Taiqing Laozi to decide.

Jieyin Daoren understands the human heart better than Taiqing Laozi.
