Chapter 358: Instance Upgrade Successful, Jiang Chen's Discovery

Jiang Chen did not actively attack the monsters inside the Instance.

The trigger conditions for an Instance Upgrade are varied; swiftly clearing monsters is only one possible way.

For example, the Fire God Temple and the Water God Courtyard trigger upgrades in this manner.

The Whirlwind Plain Instance is different; it requires completely clearing every monster on the plain, leaving none, even in the most hidden corners.

The Light Elemental Instance is extremely unusual; it has no concept of upgrade.

As long as one can withstand the burst of Light Element power, it counts as success.

The Electric Element Instance before me is filled with elemental sprites made of lightning, making it hard for Jiang Chen to act.

"I can only give it a try, although the royal family also tried methods to clear massive numbers of monsters in a short time," Jiang Chen muttered, "but their speed is certainly not as fast as mine!"

This Instance is set to Nightmare Difficulty, allowing only six players to enter.

Even with the fastest clearing speed, it cannot surpass the Undead Legion of tens of thousands of members.

In an instant, the Undead Legion appeared within the Instance and launched an attack.

Twenty Undead Legions, each with 600 Skeletons, including Berserkers, Great Mages and Divine Archers, each occupying 200; total 12,000 Skeletons.

As soon as the Undead Legion appeared, it immediately charged forward.

The Instance terrain is a valley, not very deep.

The valley mouth is only about five thousand meters across.

The Skeletons quickly eliminated all Electric Element monsters.

While Jiang Chen was counting, it didn't take long before the valley entrance was empty; when everything was cleared, only ten minutes had passed.

Elemental monsters have no corpses, so corpse explosions cannot be used.

This speed is already the limit.

According to Jiang Chen's estimate, if it were a six‑person team, it would take three or four hours to finish clearing here.

He is at least dozens of times faster than they are.

If even this cannot trigger an Instance Upgrade, it means the Lightning Valley Instance does not rely on clearing speed to trigger an upgrade.

"It's not about clearing speed, nor clearing all Light monsters..."

And it's also a bit different from the Whirlwind Plain.

He has already cleared all monsters outside the valley; the royal family has done the same.

All to no avail.

Jiang Chen looked at the valley entrance.

Thunder rumbled repeatedly within the valley.

This time it wasn't Instance monsters, but real lightning and thunder.

"According to the data provided by Si Tu Yu, shortly after entering the valley, one will encounter a fork."

"No matter which path is taken, it ultimately leads out of the valley."

"After entering a fork, lightning will fall."

"Lightning's attack power is immense, causing the whole team to keep moving forward, unable to retreat."

This information comes from the Si family.

The Si family tried every road, but to no avail.

Over the years, the Si family has tried every possible method.

There is simply no solution.

Jiang Chen soon reached a fork.

Six forks lay before him.

Lightning flashed overhead, and behind were dense clusters of lightning.

He now has no retreat.

The lightning strike points are slowly moving forward, leaving little time for him to choose.

In a few more minutes, he will be struck by lightning.

Jiang Chen's eyes suddenly brightened.

"Could it be like this..."

"Six forks, six professionals."

"Each professional must walk a separate path alone..."

"But the support and healer in the team have no combat power, how to fight..."

"Or rather, they don't need to fight monsters; they just need to finish the path. Supports and healers can use control-type skills; though risky, it's not impossible."

Jiang Chen felt his idea was probably correct.

"Let's try!"

Six Great Mage Skeleton teams charged into the forks.

He is only one person, that's true, but he has the Undead Legion.

He can completely take all six roads at once.

The Lightning Element monster possesses dual immunity to Lightning Element and physical attacks.

Here, Skeleton Berserkers are utterly useless.

Divine Archers still have a slight use.

Only the Great Mage shines here.

The monsters on the six forks are cleared synchronously, continuously pushing toward the valley exit.

Although Jiang Chen speculates, it is not necessarily required to clear the monsters on the road.

But it's still cleared; it won't take much time anyway.

Behind him roared lightning strikes, constantly following him.

The ordinary profession team dares not retreat; they can only keep moving forward, or they'll be devoured by lightning.

The road in the valley was a bit long, but Jiang Chen pushed to the end at a steady pace.

The moment he stepped out of the valley, the valley collapsed with a roar.

The whole valley turned into a Lightning Sea, booming nonstop.

Not only the valley was echoing; the entire Instance was shaking.

"It's done!"

A hint of joy appeared in Jiang Chen's eyes.

The Instance finally began its Upgrade.

In the great hall of the outside world, a group of royal elders were still discussing how to train their juniors.

Suddenly, bursts of lightning flashed from the Instance, illuminating the hall.

Some lightning even struck people, crackling loudly.

Si Tu Yu shouted happily, "It's upgraded, really upgraded."

The Electric Element Instance Upgrade means that Electric Element Crystals can be obtained.

The royal family knows a lot; they are aware of the existence of Elemental Crystals.

Precisely because of that, they devise ways to Upgrade this Instance.

The aura of the Instance Upgrade spread far, almost covering half of Huang Gong, startling many.

A few seconds later, Si Tu Liang appeared before the hall.

Seeing so many royal members here, he was a bit stunned.

"What happened?"

Among those present, many were elders of Si Tu Liang.

Although their status and strength were lower than his, they could still converse as equals.

"Father, the matter is like this..." Si Tu Yu immediately recounted the whole situation.

He even mentioned the previous incident involving Si Tu Shun.

Si Tu Liang showed no reaction; he simply didn't care about Si Tu Shun being beaten.

Such an idiot—being beaten is fitting; as long as he didn't die, that's enough.

Si Tu Liang said, "So that means Divine General Jiang is now inside the Instance; you haven't entered, have you?"

Si Tu Yu replied, "We've never entered."

Si Tu Liang hummed, "It's good you haven't entered; you must keep your promises."

"Anyway, there's plenty of time ahead; the Instance won't run away, and we can farm it however we like in the future."

"Let's let Divine General Jiang farm to his heart's content first."

Si Tu Yu meant the same.

At this moment, several of Si Tu Liang's uncles pulled him over, beginning to discuss sending their junior descendants to the army for training.

Although the royal family has a set method for nurturing heirs, it's merely level‑grinding.

It's different from actually serving in the army or fighting on a battlefield.

Among those present, more than half had served in the army.

Even Si Tu Liang had been in the army, participated in many battles, and slain Demons.

Si Tu Liang strongly supported their ideas.

With that, the matter was settled; Si Tu Yu couldn't help but observe a three‑second moment of silence for his royal brothers and sisters.

These guys' good days are over.

Once in the army, it's uncertain whether they'll return alive.

"If you want to blame anyone, blame Si Tu Shun; he's the one who set you up."

The Instance has completed its Upgrade and quieted again.

The Lightning Sea formed after the valley collapsed became wilder, its power magnified manyfold.

Jiang Chen gazed at the Lightning Sea and saw a pearl within it.

The pearl floated up and down in the Lightning Sea; if you don't look closely, you'll surely miss it.

Even if seen, other professions would nine times out of ten fail to obtain it.

Under this level of lightning strike, even a Knight with Limit Defense can't last more than five seconds.

Jiang Chen donned a layer of Bone Armor and calmly walked in.
