Chapter 532: Attributes Higher Than the BOSS, Found the Source
Yi Ning doesn't need to act; the Undead Legion has already launched the attack first.
The Undead Legion surged toward the enemy in great numbers. There are 36 Lich Generals, each commanding 1,080 Skeleton Soldiers, a total of 38,880 skeletons mobilized simultaneously, forming an unstoppable torrent.
Jiang Chen paid no heed to the Instance's no‑flight restriction; he unleashed Lightning Nether Spirit Wings, granting the entire Undead Legion the ability to fly.
The skeletons flew over like a black cloud that blocked the sky, completely ignoring the light emanating from the Holy Light Swamp. Because of their massive numbers, the Holy Light Swamp could not concentrate fire on any single skeleton, causing its attacks to disperse and lose much of their power.
The dwarf trees inside the Instance began a frenzied counterattack, their branches pulling out of the swamp, shining with white light as they struck the skeletons.
But the skeletons would not be outdone; the Skeleton Berserker swung its axe, sending broken branches scattering everywhere.
At the same time, the Skeleton Great Mages released Elemental Explosions that kept detonating across the battlefield, shattering everything in their wake. Though the Elemental Explosion's power was insufficient to shake high‑level monsters, it was more than enough against these same‑tier Instance monsters.
Yi Ning stared dumbfounded; it was her first time witnessing such an illogical tactic. Jiang Chen completely ignored the Instance's rules, simply pushing forward with his overwhelming strength.
"This kind of tactic is truly unprecedented," Yi Ning exclaimed.
She watched the Experience Value notifications popping up on the screen, and a feeling of envy rose within her.
If Jiang Chen could take her along to grind the Instance, her leveling speed would surely skyrocket.
But Yi Ning quickly dismissed the thought. She told
herself that, as an ambitious professional, she cannot rely on others to boost her own strength.
"I am Yi Ning, and I will become a Divine-level Strongman," she whispered to herself.
Jiang Chen was unaware of Yi Ning's thoughts; he curiously stared at the swamp before him, "Why is this swamp attacking us? Could there be some monster hidden beneath it?"
He and Yi Ning walked to the edge of the swamp, gazing at the swamp covered in white light, their hearts full of doubt.
"We have to go down and see," Jiang Chen said.
He summoned the Undead Legion to continue pushing deeper into the Instance, while preparing to explore this mysterious swamp.
"Let me go down first to investigate," Jiang Chen ordered a Skeleton Berserker to leap into the swamp.
The swamp's surface appeared soft, layered like cotton; once the Skeleton Berserker entered, it felt an inexplicable force pulling it downward. This force differed from the swamp's viscosity, seeming more like a mysterious power drawing it.
As the Skeleton Berserker delved deeper, Jiang Chen sensed an anomaly at the swamp's bottom. There was a dazzling Light Orb, the source of the swamp's illumination.
"Found it!" a hint of joy flashed in Jiang Chen's eyes as he ordered the Skeleton Berserker to pick up that Light Orb.
When the Light Orb was grasped by the Skeleton Berserker, the swamp's glow vanished instantly, revealing a pit about six to seven meters in diameter and roughly ten meters deep.
Yi Ning stood at the rim of the pit, staring at the suddenly appearing chasm, and exclaimed, "So the swamp's light was emanating from here."
Jiang Chen nodded, a slight smile on his face, "It seems there's something else down there, we
go down and take a look."
Yi Ning hesitated a bit, but seeing Jiang Chen already leap into the pit first, she could only follow closely. After all, the monsters in the Instance were being cleared by the Undead Legion, so they only needed to focus on the immediate situation.
Reaching the pit's bottom, Jiang Chen took the Light Orb from the Skeleton Berserker's hand. He gently used Detection Technique, and a surge of information flooded his mind.
"God of Light's feather: a feather that fell from the God of Light's wings, containing pure light power," Jiang Chen whispered, reciting the detection result.
Yi Ning stared in amazement at the Light Orb in her hand, "So this is actually the God of Light's feather? Does the God of Light really have wings?"
Jiang Chen pondered briefly, recalling the solemn Angel Statue in the Light Elemental Instance, "Perhaps. In legends, the God of Light is often associated with angels, and angels naturally have wings."
Yi Ning did not press further; she knew the God of Light was merely a distant legend, and Jiang Chen might never have seen its true form.
Later, Jiang Chen turned his gaze to where the feather had been. A hole about the size of a fist appeared; once the feather was taken, the hole was revealed.
Yi Ning asked curiously, "What's the deal with this hole? Where does it lead?"
Jiang Chen examined it carefully, shook his head, and said, "This hole seems to lead somewhere, but the opening is too small for us to enter."
He tried using Detection Technique to probe the interior of the hole, but found nothing. In the end, Jiang Chen decided not to dwell on the hole and instead continued exploring the mysterious swamp.
Jiang Chen handed the God of Light's feather he had collected to Yi Ning, smiling, "Try this,
these feathers might help your Summoned Beast."
Yi Ning's main purpose on this trip was to locate the Holy Light Swamp where the Instance's BOSS resides, the area with the densest Holy Light.
But since the God of Light's feather is the core of the Holy Light Swamp, she guessed it might benefit her Summoned Beast.
Yi Ning did not decline, took the feather, and gently placed it atop the Holy Spirit Unicorn's head. The feather, upon touching the unicorn, burst into dazzling light before gradually merging into the unicorn's body.
A look of delight appeared on Yi Ning's face, "Sure enough it's useful; the effect isn't especially striking, but I can feel Little White's power has increased."
"So that's why it's called Little White," Jiang Chen smiled, patting the Holy Spirit Unicorn's head; Little White meekly lowered its head, clearly not unfamiliar with Jiang Chen.
"Since it's effective, let's continue," Jiang Chen instructed.
Following his order, a swarm of Skeleton Soldiers leapt into the swamp, beginning to search for and retrieve more God of Light feathers. As each feather was brought back, the swamp, which had once glittered, gradually calmed, and the entire Instance's environment changed accordingly.
Yi Ning gazed at it all, whispering, "If we take all the God of Light feathers from this area, will this Instance vanish?"
Jiang Chen thought for a moment, then replied, "It depends on the source of those feathers. Do you remember the hole we discovered? I feel that hole connects to the true core of this Instance."
"As long as that core remains, this Instance should continue to exist," Jiang Chen explained.
Yi Ning, although she didn't
have Jiang Chen's keen perception, she fully believed Jiang Chen's words.
As more and more God of Light feathers were brought back, Yi Ning placed them one by one onto the Holy Spirit Unicorn, letting it Absorb them. Little White's aura gradually grew stronger, and its light became ever more dazzling.
Yi Ning looked at it all and explained to Jiang Chen, "We Summoners, besides improving our own strength, can also enhance our Summoned Beast to boost our combat power. When the Summoned Beast's strength reaches a certain level, its attributes will in turn nourish us Summoners, making us stronger."
"That's why my attributes rank among the better ones among peers," Yi Ning added.
"But not all Summoners possess this ability; it depends on our Bloodline and the type of Summoned Beast," Yi Ning continued, "For example, the Ren family's Golden Roc Summoned Beast lacks this ability."
Jiang Chen nodded in understanding, "This ability is indeed enviable."
Yi Ning asked curiously, "Then does your Summoned Beast lack this ability?"
Jiang Chen shook his head, "No."
Yi Ning had always known Jiang Chen's extraordinary strength, but she thought that in terms of attributes, she might still be able to match him. After all, she took pride in her outstanding attributes.
With a hint of challenge and curiosity, Yi Ning asked, "Jiang Chen, what is your All Attributes now? Can you tell me?"
Jiang Chen seemed unconcerned by her comparison, replying lightly, "Sure, which attribute are you asking about?"
Yi Ning answered without hesitation: "All Attributes."
Jiang Chen pondered.
He paused briefly, then said lightly: "If it's All Attributes, it's now over 560,000 points."
Yi Ning heard the number, as if struck by lightning, almost let out a Scream, eyes bulging like copper bells, "You… what did you say? Over 560,000 points?"
Jiang Chen nodded, confirming again: "Right, 563210. Is there any problem with this number?"
Yi Ning felt a wave of helplessness, as if all confidence collapsed at that moment. Yi Ning stomped forcefully, said irritably: "I really shouldn't have asked that question; it's completely self‑inflicted boredom."
Yi Ning sighed, continued: "You're truly a monster; I heard that same‑level World BOSS's All Attributes aren't as high as yours."
Jiang Chen smiled, without denying, "Indeed."
The two continued onward, and before they knew it, they had already reached the deep part of the Instance.
Before them appeared a vast swamp, over a hundred meters in diameter, its brilliance dazzling. Beams of light, like swords, pierced the heavens, illuminating the entire sky.
Jiang Chen pointed at the swamp, saying to Yi Ning: "This is the source of light we've been looking for."
