Chapter 583: A Powerful Being, Testing New Skills Together

~7 min read 1,324 words

Jiang Chen's expression grew unusually complex, as if it contained endless excitement, thrill, tension, and shock.

Even though he kept his eyes tightly shut at this moment, those emotions flared like scorching fire, plainly displayed on his face.

Antares, having endured countless ages and witnessed innumerable people and events, instantly discerned Jiang Chen's complex state of mind.

Its heart was full of curiosity, eager to know exactly what incredible thing had occurred to Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen was now fully focused on examining his New Talent. He read it word by word, painstakingly analyzing its true purpose.

"Host gains a unique Divine-level Talent: Complete Rebirth."

"Complete Rebirth: The Summoner and Summoned Entity, upon true death, will be reborn, restored to peak condition, all Skills will have their cooldowns reset, and this Talent can be triggered once per minute."

While reviewing the Talent, Jiang Chen could clearly feel powerful laws streaming from that newly reborn violet flame, slowly merging into the depths of his soul.

These laws not only permeated the two Skill Star Cores in his soul, but also extended to every Skill Star Core in his skill space.

Previously, Jiang Chen could not perceive this. But now, his Spiritual Power has become immensely strong; from the Talent's awakening, formation, fusion to its final completion, he has witnessed the entire process with his own eyes.

At this moment, he clearly saw how these laws seeped into each Skill Star Core bit by bit.

Jiang Chen felt a sudden clarity; this newly acquired unique Divine-level Talent was effective on all the skills he already possessed.

Of course, he also understood that this might not include the skills granted by the Primordial Rune, since those two skills were not his own and lacked Skill Star Cores. Yet that was enough to make him thrilled.

After reading the Talent description word for word, Jiang Chen fully grasped the function of the Complete Rebirth Talent, and his excitement nearly overflowed.

On the surface, this Talent seemed only to grant him one death‑avoidance chance per minute, but in reality its significance went far beyond that. The key lies in the words "true death," which elevate the Talent's effect to a whole new level.

"'True death' means this Talent's priority is placed after some of his survival Skills," Jiang Chen thought to himself. "Originally, to kill me one had to first eliminate my Undead Legion, and do so four times within five minutes. But now, even if the fourth strike kills me, I can rely on this Talent's Complete Rebirth, resetting all Skills and starting anew."

Jiang Chen realized this Talent almost granted him an immortal body. Facing a Demon Emperor‑level opponent, even if he chose not to fight and simply kept fleeing, he could potentially survive a minute and thus avoid true death.

"Now that's true invincibility!" Jiang Chen exclaimed, "System, you are truly powerful!"

Two Divine-level Talents merged into a single unique Divine-level Talent, causing the Talent's power to undergo a dramatic transformation. Such an ability could only be achieved by the System.

However, even though the Talent was mastered, the Job Change process had not yet finished. The laws of heaven and earth continued to roar, constantly pouring into his body. After enhancing his soul and flesh, these laws began flooding the skill space, activating the Level 70 Skill Star Cores.

Under the effect of Profession Ascension, Jiang Chen need not awaken or activate Skills himself; the laws of heaven and earth would complete it for him. In the skill space, three consecutive Skill Star Cores were ignited, bursting with dazzling light.

"Three new Skills!" Jiang Chen exclaimed, filled with anticipation for the upcoming adventures.

Jiang Chen knew clearly that his Level 70 Skills numbered three, and the potential of each filled him with expectation.

As levels rise, most practitioners see a reduction in the number of Skills, though the strength of each increases accordingly. Three Skills, while average among practitioners, gave Jiang Chen confidence in their potential.

"Acquired Skill: Summon Headless Knight"

"Summon Headless Knight (Level 1): Summon a Black Iron‑grade Headless Knight to assist in combat."

"Acquired Skill: Undead Gaze"

"Undead Gaze (Level 1): Summon an Undead Eye, releasing a burning undead flame that deals Soul Attack to the target; the damage depends on the Skill level and the Summoner's Spiritual Power."

"Acquired Skill: Skeleton Spear"

"Skeleton Spear (Level 1): Release a spear formed from condensed bones to attack enemies; the spear has great penetration, and the physical damage is determined by the Skill level and the Summoner's Spirit attribute."

These three Skills—a summon, a Soul Attack, and a physical attack—each have their own traits. Though their exact power still requires testing in battle, Jiang Chen believes that as Level 70 Skills they must possess extraordinary capability.

The roaring of the laws gradually faded, marking the formal conclusion of the Third Job Transfer. Jiang Chen memorized every detail of the Job Change process, especially the wondrous sensations within the Talent world. He harbored a goal: to fuse the three flames and three Talents of the Talent world into his own soul, elevating his strength to a new height.

Opening his eyes again, Jiang Chen found himself amid a field of corpses, surrounded by the carcasses of wild beasts. Among them, a massive wild beast stood out, and Jiang Chen instantly recognized it as the corpse of the Beast King.

"It seems Antares truly is mighty," Jiang Chen thought, admiring silently. Even the formidable Beast King appeared utterly vulnerable before Antares.

As the laws dissipated, the surrounding scenery shifted as well. Antares returned Jiang Chen from the desolate void to the real world.

"How does it feel?" Antares asked in a low, grumbling tone, seeming indifferent. Yet Jiang Chen knew this powerful being had indeed been watching his growth all along.

But Antares's gaze revealed a barely perceptible curiosity. Jiang Chen, seeing this, smiled, "The Job Change was successful; I completed Profession Ascension and awakened the Talent."

Antares hummed, seemingly unsurprised by Jiang Chen's success: "Nonsense, you used a Talent Divine Stone, so awakening the Talent is expected. I also know about Profession Ascension; you're now the Undead Holy King, that profession name... I think I've heard it somewhere."

Jiang Chen teased, "Oh? Then perhaps you heard it in some dream."

Antares did not probe further, instead asking, "Did you see your Talent world?"

Jiang Chen nodded, "I saw them—the three flames—and recorded that feeling. One day I will fully merge them into my soul."

Antares smiled with a hint of amusement, "That won't be easy."

Jiang Chen, however, appeared unusually resolute, "No matter how hard, I will still try."

Antares finally could not contain his curiosity, asking, "Then, tell me about your Talent and Skills, and the changes before and after the Job Change."

Jiang Chen gave a slight smile, "Alright, I'll explain while I test them."

Having said that, Jiang Chen felt a surge within and summoned his Undead Legion along with all the liches. Every Skeleton's feet glowed with a seven‑color Aura, rotating and shining, forming a spectacular scene.

Antares watched with interest, asking, "How do you intend to test?"

Jiang Chen pointed at himself, "You attack me, using Level 90 power tier."

Antares did not hesitate; an attack instantly descended upon Jiang Chen. The strike appeared unusually abrupt, leaving Jiang Chen barely time to react. He knew this was merely because Antares's power tier far exceeded his own, which he could not yet fully comprehend.

Nevertheless, despite the attack's strength, an invisible shield of faint White Light formed on Jiang Chen's body. All damage was transferred to the Undead Legion under the effect of the "Damage Transfer" Skill.

Jiang Chen explained, "This is my previous Skill 'Damage Transfer', but now, due to increased fusion, it has changed."

He continued, "The current 'Damage Transfer (Fusion 50%)' can halve all damage I receive, passing it onto the Summoned Entity. This greatly enhances my survivability."
