Chapter 405

Shangguan Wan'er was full of shock.

Once Wu Zhao's words were spread, or even implemented, they would cause a huge storm in the entire Changancheng!

Gao Yang was not yet twenty years old, yet he was ascending to the position of Minister of the Ministry of Revenue.

Even with illustrious merit, this was enough to shock the entire Great Qian, and even the entire Seven Kingdoms!

A smile appeared on Gao Yang's face.

He hurriedly spoke, "I just had a flash of inspiration and suddenly have a few wonderful plans that can bring Your Majesty huge benefits!"

"Speak!"

Wu Zhao said briefly.

This inspiration came really quickly!

Gao Yang immediately said eloquently, "The first is naturally soap; I have branded soap with the efficacy of prolonging life and strengthening yang. If the sales channels are opened, we can make a huge profit!"

"The second is white sugar!"

Wu Zhao did know about soap; the price on the market was not low, and if it weren't for the Chu army attacking, soap could have been even more popular!

But white sugar instantly awakened her!

The greatest use of white sugar was mixing it with gunpowder; Gao Yang called it one sulfur, two nitrates, three charcoal, and add a little white sugar for an Ivan.

Although Wu Zhao did not know what an Ivan was, she knew in her heart that it was definitely not ordinary!

More importantly, white sugar was refined from the black sugar on the market!

"Can this white sugar be eaten?"

Wu Zhao's phoenix eyes flickered, and she realized this problem.

"Since it is refined from black sugar, it can naturally be eaten, and the sweetness is more delicate and richer in nutrition!"

"But this is not the most important thing; the most important thing is that the appearance of white sugar is beautiful enough, white enough!"

"The Seven Kingdoms all consider mutton-fat white jade to be beautiful; a piece of flawless white mutton-fat jade can even sell for tens of thousands of taels!"

"By the same token, the price of this white sugar can also be hyped up!"

Great Qian and even the Seven Kingdoms mainly used black sugar, which had many impurities and was cloyingly sweet.

Although it was of this quality, the price of black sugar was not cheap, and as for the price of brown sugar, it was even more expensive.

Whether it was black sugar or brown sugar, ordinary people could not afford to eat it.

As for white sugar, it did not exist at all; the black sugar and brown sugar refined from sugarcane, even if a little white sugar was produced, had many impurities.

Added to the appearance of white sugar and the aesthetic of the Seven Kingdoms crazily snatching up white jade, this was an opportunity for hype!

After these words were spoken, Wu Zhao's eyes suddenly lit up.

"How do you want to hype it?"

Gao Yang revealed a confident smile, "Just like soap!"

"Go with false advertising, go with deception, go with packaging!"

"And white sugar has greater advantages than soap because it can be eaten!"

"Forging gunpowder is only one major use of white sugar; its greatest use is eating!"

"In my heart, judging from the preferences of Great Qian and even the Seven Kingdoms, white sugar is one of the easiest things to hype!"

"If Your Majesty uses this to amass wealth, the wealth will exceed Your Majesty's imagination!"

After Gao Yang's confident words were spoken.

Wu Zhao and Shangguan Wan'er were both moved, and their fists were clenched tight.

"Listening to you say this, I have already started looking forward to it in advance."

A look of being moved appeared on Wu Zhao's face.

Gao Yang continued, "If we hype white sugar in a conventional way, it will take a long time to spread to the Seven Kingdoms; after all, we need to open up sales channels!"

"Considering that Great Qian lacks money and Your Majesty urgently needs a sum of money, I have come up with another wonderful plan."

"I want to make the merchants of the world and the noble families of Changan scramble to send money to Your Majesty!"

Wu Zhao was somewhat surprised to hear these words, "Make the merchants of the world and the noble families of Changan scramble to send money?"

"Gao Yang, the great war has just ended, and the forces behind the merchants of the world and the noble families are interconnected; moving one part affects the whole body, so it is not appropriate to grab it by force!"

When Wu Zhao said these words, her eyes were serious, thinking that Gao Yang had the intention of using power to suppress them.

Gao Yang shook his head, his tone somewhat disdainful, "Your Majesty is overthinking; in my heart, grabbing by force is the lowest means of doing business, and I would absolutely never use it!"

"What I want is for the merchants of the world and the noble families of Changan to willingly come and send money."

"Willingly come and send money?"

Wu Zhao could not help but repeat it, and she took a deep look at Gao Yang.

At this moment, she was increasingly curious about Gao Yang's methods; how would he crazily amass wealth with a bit of white sugar?

"However, I need to hype white sugar first, and this will take some time."

"Your Majesty, just wait and see!"

Gao Yang spoke with certainty, his face full of confidence.

After Gao Yang left the Fengluan Palace, Shangguan Wan'er could not help but ask, "Your Majesty, do you know what Gao Yang is going to do?"

Wu Zhao watched the back of Gao Yang as he strode away, her gaze deep.

"No one in the world can know Gao Yang's actions, but since he has such confidence, this matter will definitely succeed!"

"This time, I can actually lie down and count money!"

"However, this kid is really realistic; as soon as I agreed to the position of Minister of the Ministry of Revenue, his wonderful plan came."

"It came so fast, it came so fast that I was caught off guard."

Wu Zhao shook her head, somewhat amused.

"Is Your Majesty not angry?" Shangguan Wan'er could not help but ask.

"Why should I be angry? For a person like Gao Yang, I have never been afraid of him being greedy, nor have I been afraid of him being lecherous."

"I am happy to see this result!"

"For this matter, just wait to see Gao Yang's methods; you first order someone to bring my large chicken leg and venison porridge; I am hungry." ===== CHAPTER 407 =====
