Chapter 526

This Gao Yang is not a person who likes to take advantage of others?

Soon.

Eunuch Hong brought a brand-new wooden chessboard and a bag of rice.

Seeing this, Wang Zhong couldn't help but say, "Your Majesty, is this bag of rice too much?"

"Just such a small square chessboard, how much can it hold?"

Upon hearing this, Suan Wudao also said, "This general is right. It's getting late, and I think the Emperor and the officials are tired. I think it's unnecessary."

"If you, Lord Gao, are not satisfied, I will buy three bags—no, ten bags!"

"How about that?"

Suan Wudao said, looking at Gao Yang nervously.

Once the chessboard rice-placing started, their intentions would be exposed after only a few squares.

By then, he would be finished!

Gao Yang had a playful smile on his face. His right hand picked up some rice grains, put one grain in the first square, two grains in the second square, and four grains in the third square!

He raised his eyes and looked at Master Suan amusingly.

"Master Suan, in your eyes, am I just a fool?"

"A fool you can fool at will?"

"But clearly, my mathematical level is above yours!"

As soon as these words were out, Master Suan's face changed drastically.

The civil and military officials also sensed a different meaning following Gao Yang's words.

Suan Wudao stared at Gao Yang, his eyes filled with thick horror, "Lord Gao, what do you mean by this?"

"I have absolutely no intention of playing with you, Lord Gao!"

Gao Yang was too lazy to pretend anymore.

He said lightly, "Great Chu's 100,000 troops went south, but returned in defeat under the walls of Changan, suffering heavy casualties. To say this hatred is irreconcilable is not an exaggeration at all."

"In the court today, first Master Zhou was angered to death by this official, and then Master Zhuang was forced to draw his sword and commit suicide by this official. But you, Master Suan, are of noble character; you lost but didn't care about your reputation, kneeling to this official on the spot. Although this bet is not a life-and-death agreement, it is not light. But if this official lost, it would only be a mere chessboard rice-placing!"

"What? Are you this generous to your enemies, Master Suan?"

As soon as these words were out, the faces of the Da Qian officials changed together.

Even Wang Zhong realized something was wrong.

Lu Zhen said with an ugly face, "Lord Gao, is there a problem with this chessboard rice-placing?"

Gao Yang looked at Suan Wudao, his eyes filled with endless indifference.

"It's not just a problem; it's a huge pit!"

"Because this chessboard rice-placing involves exponential growth, and behind it will be an astronomical number that no one can afford!"

"The first square only needs one grain of rice, and the rice grains in the previous squares are not many. Even in the thirteenth square, it only needs 4096 grains!"

"But the fourteenth square needs 8192 grains, and the fifteenth square needs 16384 grains!"

"In just three squares, it went from 4096 grains to 16384 grains, and the sixteenth square reached more than 30,000 grains!"

"The seventeenth square needs more than 60,000 grains, the eighteenth square needs 120,000 grains, and the twenty-second square needs a million grains!"

"A chessboard has sixty-four squares. According to this rule, the rice grains in the sixty-fourth square will be a terrifying number that would not even be a fraction if all the grain of the seven kingdoms were taken out!"

"Suan Wudao, did you really think I couldn't see your sinister intentions?"
