Chapter 735

"Who said this official is too young and cannot hold back?"

Gao Yang pushed open the door of the Imperial Study and walked in, his eyes sweeping over Wang Zhong and Yan Zheng.

These two, Gao Yang's little black book had recorded them.

But for now, Gao Yang still bowed to Wu Zhao at the first moment, "Your subject Gao Yang, pays respects to Your Majesty!"

"Lord Gao, no need for formalities. I summoned you today because Old General Wang and Censor Yan jointly impeached you, saying that you held a grand capping ceremony and accepted bribes. Is there such a thing?"

Wu Zhao spoke directly, her slender fingers tapping slowly on the armrest of the dragon chair, directly throwing this thorny pot to Gao Yang.

There is no reason why Gao Yang, this guy, took a huge sum of silver, and she, Wu Zhao, still has to wipe his butt.

Gao Yang looked at Wang Zhong and Yan Zheng, his body trembling slightly with anger.

"Slander!"

"Your Majesty, they are slandering me!"

"Since I became an official, I have been clean and honest, never doing these filthy things. Even when facing hundreds of thousands of taels of silver from the Rong Prince's Mansion, I was not moved at all, never taking even a needle or thread from the Rong Prince's Mansion!"

"Since I became an official, I have strictly adhered to my principles!"

Gao Yang looked righteous, and there was even a sense of anger at being slandered on his face!

Wu Zhao raised an eyebrow and didn't speak.

Wang Zhong and Yan Zheng couldn't help it anymore.

"Lord Gao, I have never seen such a shameless person! You dare to say that since you became an official, you have strictly adhered to your principles and are a clean official?"

Wang Zhong took the lead in spraying, his tiger eyes staring at Gao Yang, his resonant voice echoing through the Imperial Study!

If Gao Yang is a clean official, he, Wang Zhong, will lick every latrine in Changan!

Yan Zheng heard this, and although he knew Gao Yang's skin was extremely thick and did not match his age at all, he still felt he had underestimated Gao Yang's shamelessness at this moment.

These words were simply too shameless; he simply treated him, Yan Zheng, as a fool!

"Old General Wang, if Lord Gao is really a clean official who strictly adheres to his principles, I will lick every latrine in Changan with you!"

The two looked at each other slowly, as if they had made some kind of resolution.

"Your Majesty, your subject just held a slightly larger capping ceremony and has a very good relationship in the court, so the officials all enthusiastically came to congratulate me. But today, I was slandered and impeached by Old General Wang and Censor Yan!"

"I implore Your Majesty to see clearly, return my innocence, and punish Old General Wang and Censor Yan severely!"

Wang Zhong's eyes went dark.

This Gao Yang is simply reversing the heavens and the earth!

He actually reported them for slander instead!

Upon hearing this, Wu Zhao beckoned to Shangguan Wan'er, and Shangguan Wan'er hurriedly lowered her body and came to Wu Zhao's side.

"Your Majesty, what's wrong?"

"Wan'er, go get me some melon and fruit; I'll eat while I watch."

Wu Zhao leaned on the dragon chair, saying nothing, clearly intending to watch the fun, just to see who was more skilled. She didn't want to get involved in this matter.

"Lord Gao, you are shameless!" Wang Zhong said angrily.

Seeing this, Gao Yang said calmly: "Old General Wang, Censor Yan, you keep saying that this official accepted bribes, but where is the evidence?"

"Let's speak with evidence; the Imperial Study is not a place outside the law!"

On the side, Wang Zhong took a deep breath and then said, "Lord Gao, there is no need to say more. Since I came to impeach you before Your Majesty, I naturally have evidence!"

"Let's speak with evidence!"

"At the capping ceremony, the Six-Cavalry Captain Chen Tianfang sent you a big, thick gift, wanting you to say some good words before Your Majesty, preferably to transfer him to the Changan Four Armies and become Your Majesty's personal army. Is this true or not?"

Wang Zhong's eyes were as sharp as a falcon's, staring straight at Gao Yang.

Instantly, Gao Yang was stunned, and a picture appeared in his mind.

Chen Tianfang sent a piece of mutton-fat white jade; looking at its quality, it was at least several thousand taels, or even ten thousand taels!

Therefore, Gao Yang had a very deep impression of this person.

After all, his official position was not high, but his spending was extremely generous. Such a person is simply rare in the world!

As for what this person said, it was about the same as what Wang Zhong said: first, to congratulate him on his capping ceremony, and second, to ask him to say some good words before Wu Zhao to transfer him to the Changan Four Armies and become Wu Zhao's personal army!

For this thick gift, he naturally nodded directly.

It turns out that all of this was waiting for him here!

Sending gifts is a secret matter; if you don't say it and I don't say it, who would know? This is also the reason why corrupt officials are everywhere in the world!

Will Chen Tianfang expose himself?

Gao Yang wore a cold smile, but he was not surprised at all.

This Chen Tianfang is Wang Zhong's person!

Wang Zhong didn't hesitate to use this person to impeach him; this Wang Zhong has truly paid a huge price!

"Lord Gao, is this matter true?"

Wang Zhong's voice carried a chill, but looking closely at the expression on his face, it also carried a sense of heartache.

At this time, Yan Zheng on the side also spoke.

"I have always been fair. Although I came to impeach before Your Majesty, I naturally have evidence. Just after the capping ceremony, the Censorate also received many impeachment memorials. The content is about the same as what Old General Wang said—they were all officials who used the capping ceremony to send big gifts and then asked Lord Gao to handle affairs. To this, Lord Gao agreed!"

"Now I have brought the memorials. One person might be slander, but with so many memorials, how does Lord Gao explain?"

"Could it be that these people are also slandering, and this matter is baseless?"

Yan Zheng straightened his body, his voice ringing out.

The two looked at Gao Yang, their gazes carrying a sense of being sure to win.

"Gao Yang, is what Old General Wang and Censor Yan said true?"

Wu Zhao picked up a piece of pastry, put it in her mouth, and asked indifferently.

On this point, she was also somewhat curious about how Gao Yang would explain it!

"Reporting to Your Majesty, these are true!"

"Like the Captain Chen that Old General Wang mentioned, wanting me to say good words, I did agree, and I did accept the things."
