Chapter 120: The Dawn Arrives

~7 min read 1,388 words

"Lu Mingfei?!!!" Du Deng exclaimed, eyes wide with shock.

The half-breeds present and Pompey were just about to move, but found they could only move their heads; their bodies felt as heavy as if filled with lead.

"Sakura!" Hui Liyi happily embraced Lu Mingfei, not caring why he had suddenly appeared here or what his current state was.

"Let's go back. Sorry, I didn't have a good time playing with you today." Lu Mingfei stroked Hui Liyi's soft, smooth hair; the scent of last night's shampoo filled his nostrils, and he suddenly felt deeply at peace.

'You have 10 minutes left.'

"You're Du Deng, aren't you?" Lu Mingfei buried Hui Liyi's head against his chest and spoke to the opposite side: "I've seen you—in my memories."

"Oh, and William too—two commissioners today." Lu Mingfei glanced at a blonde woman: "And Nastasha—lucky me, I get to kill you once again. Uh, that's not what I meant to say—please, can you wait a bit? Didn't we agree I'd handle it myself?"

Lu Mingfei spoke as if to himself, but no one dared interrupt him.

"I heard what you just said. I know exactly what kind of person you are." Lu Mingfei addressed Commissioner William: "So, disappear."

Commissioner William had no time to speak—this was not a word or syllable, but a command. The instant it was issued, William crumbled like sand and vanished.

"What a pity—your commission's old men didn't all show up. Otherwise, I'd have given you all a lesson." Lu Mingfei paused, then said in the terrified gazes of Du Deng and the surrounding half-breeds: "Never mind."

He turned his gaze away as if losing interest; those within his field of vision felt as if granted mercy—until he suddenly turned his head back, studying the woman named Nastasha: "If you flirt with my father again and ruin my parents' marriage, I'll kill you and all these commissioners. Understood?"

'Kill her, you idiot!'

Lu Mingfei carried Hui Liyi to Lu Mingze's side, ruffled his head, then grabbed his cheeks and tugged a few times, releasing him as Lu Mingze scowled, and said:

"He told me to tell you—the game isn't over until the world is ruled."

"Do whatever you want. At least it's better than these bastards constantly scheming against me—Secret Party, half-breed clans, Mori Sect, Dragon Kings—just vanish already."

Lu Mingfei deliberately used Chinese to preserve his image in Hui Liyi's eyes.

'You have 7 minutes left.'

"We are one, brother," Lu Mingze said slowly. "If that's your wish, I can lead the way now."

"But I really don't want a harem, and I don't want to be king of the world," Lu Mingfei said.

"Alright, I understand," Lu Mingze shrugged. "I'll fulfill your wish. Just remember to give me your soul."

'You have 6 minutes left.'

Lu Mingfei nodded, then turned to Pompey—the silver giant dragon, the Long Wang of Sky and Wind—whose entire body was rigid, his scales trembling faintly.

"If you weren't my big brother's father, I'd chop you up right now—you've done nothing but evil." Lu Mingfei patted Pompey's dragon head in the manner of Lu Mingze: "Also, you've walked too far down the wrong path."

With one final blow, Lu Mingfei slammed the giant dragon into the ground.

"More people, more strength," he told Lu Mingze.

'Useless effort—I've managed state affairs for you for decades. Just follow the guide and open your harem; their initial affection for you is already above 60.'

Lu Mingfei nodded to Miss Kelaien.

'Thanks, Lao Zhou.'

Miss Kelaien nodded back to Lu Mingfei.

'This projection must be pretty strong, right?'

The two exchanged glances; then Lu Mingfei and Hui Liyi vanished from the spot, and the next instant appeared tens of thousands of meters in the air.

Beneath the brilliant starry sky, Hui Liyi poked her head out from his shoulder.

"So beautiful."

'You have 5 minutes left.'

"Hui Liyi," Lu Mingfei's cheeks flushed slightly—he had never in his past twenty-some years held a girl so intimately.

"Sakura, so amazing," Hui Liyi leaned close, her face nearly touching his.

"There's something I must tell you," Lu Mingfei felt his blood surging—he knew Hui Liyi was incredibly alluring now, but he couldn't let his other self take advantage.

Lu Mingfei took a deep breath and said seriously: "My real name is Lu Mingfei!"

"Lu Mingfei?" Hui Liyi tilted her head in confusion. "The one who just spoke was Lu Mingze."

"He's my younger brother."

"He's cute," Hui Liyi thought, then said: "Like a doll."

"Lu… Ming… Fei?"

"I still prefer calling you Sakura."

"Why?" Lu Mingfei asked, puzzled.

"They all seem to want Lu Mingfei—but Sakura is mine alone," Hui Liyi said, gripping his shoulders tightly.

Lu Mingfei fell silent and flew toward the city below, his target the all-black building.

"Hui Liyi, I'll stay with you forever—whether as Lu Mingfei or Sakura," Lu Mingfei kissed the girl's forehead and whispered in her ear: "No one will ever hurt you again."

"I'll chase away all the Ultramen for you."

He sensed his surroundings, retracted his dragon wings, reverted to human form, and in the next instant appeared with Hui Liyi inside a tea room.

Shangshan Yue, Yuan Zhisheng, Yuan Zhinü, and the other family heads of the Snake and Eight Families—all except Juzheng Sect—were there.

'I've already arranged everything. You have 2 minutes left.'

Those present instinctively went on guard upon seeing the two suddenly appear—but lowered their defenses once they recognized them.

Hui Liyi didn't understand why they had suddenly returned home; she opened her mouth to speak, but Lu Mingfei pressed a finger to her lips to stop her.

"We're home," Lu Mingfei reminded her.

Hui Liyi nodded slowly, looking both disappointed and uneasy as she gazed at Yuan Zhisheng.

Shangshan Yue's entire attention was fixed on Hui Liyi, his eyes wide—but then he remembered something and glared darkly at Lu Mingfei. Soon, however, he exhaled in relief.

"Thank you," Yuan Zhisheng nodded in gratitude. "But the Headmaster has already informed us—next time we meet, we may be enemies."

"Family doesn't speak like strangers, big brother-in-law," Lu Mingfei said, no longer afraid of scalding water—he was now thick-skinned indeed.

Yuan Zhisheng's eyebrow twitched violently.

'One minute left.'

Lu Mingfei smiled with relief, releasing his hold on Hui Liyi's hand, 'Hui Liyi.'

Lu Mingfei felt reluctant; Hui Liyi instinctively reached out to grasp him.

'Sakura?'

Nothing before his eyes.

Dawn Floating Island

Inside the Dawn Hall

Lu Mingfei—no, Old Lu—put on a set of clothing dominated by black.

The outfit resembled a suit but incorporated many Chinese elements, with golden-thread embroidery patterns; the first impression was that only a sovereign could wear it.

Standing before the mirror, he stared at his messy hair, swept it back with his right hand.

Satisfied, he nodded and pushed open his room door, stepping out.

In the Dawn Hall's council chamber, numerous half-breeds stood in two rows, solemn and upright, gazing at Old Lu.

He walked step by step toward the center position of the long table; on his left and right sat Su Lin and Old Tang.

Old Tang slumped his brows, propped his chin on his hand, leaned on the table, looking exhausted.

Su Lin crossed one leg over the other, held a crystal vial in his right hand, filled with crimson liquid; he raised the vial, studying it through the light of the crystal chandelier, a smile on his face.

'Sorry you didn't see the end of the Tokyo Love Story,' Old Lu said as he sat down.

Representatives of the half-breed families took their seats below.

'It's fine, I've already finished watching,' Su Lin gave a slight shake to the vial in his hand; the half-full liquid rippled with the motion.

'Is that so? Good.'

A specialized clone left behind? Or was his true body near there? Old Lu didn't dwell on it.

'From this moment, we officially announce our existence to the entire world,' Old Lu paused, 'and issue ultimatums to all nations.'

'Starting tomorrow, the dawn of a new era will arrive!'

'We pledge to convey the Supreme Will to the world!'

Su Lin ignored the emotionally charged crowd, tucked away his crystal vial, and smiled broadly.

Starting the day after tomorrow, the update schedule will stabilize; sorry, the Dragon Clan arc is about to end.
