Chapter 129: The Final Battle (5) — Major Chapter 7000 Words, Dragon Clan Ending Tomorrow

~23 min read 4,405 words

Elements of light and rock continuously collided, shattered, and reformed.

Had it not been for that Supreme One explaining to the camera that the battlefield existed in another visible subspace, many viewers would have suffered cardiac arrest.

Every region of the battlefield had been severed into independent spaces.

"Thank the God of Light—he healed my heart condition two months ago; otherwise, my heart couldn't have withstood this scene."

"Please stop fighting, the child is scared."

"Who's the cameraman? How the hell is he this good?"

From around 2 p. m. until now, 6 p. m., this war between the Dragon Clan and humanity was broadcast live in full.

"News reports say these two last fought all the way to the moon."

"They fought to the edge of the universe, where the Dao itself was worn away."

"Forget the Dao—the Earth might be worn away first."

Despite the fighting, Zhongli and Su Lin still held back, at most summoning a meteor capable of scouring the surface and a single AoE judgment spell.

Fortunately, the Divine Realm's traits combined with Lao Lu's alchemy proved powerful enough; otherwise, over half the allied forces would've been sent back to spawn by the residual waves.

But Su Lin suffered inwardly—this guy had high attack, high defense, invested in both martial and magical cultivation, maxed out spatial arts, and wielded Gungnir, which was clearly not a replica—Lu Mingze and the others had given him the original from this world.

Had it not been for the abundance of buff skills in the Light-element spells, he wouldn't dare engage this man in close combat.

Emerging disheveled from the thunder-prison at the center of the stone array, Su Lin's golden radiance cracked, then reasserted new blessings upon himself.

Shielding isn't Zhongli's exclusive skill—Zhongli used him to test spells, and wasn't Su Lin using Zhongli to hone his own combat awareness? He'd once been humiliated by Huangyan, but since then, he'd faced almost no true combat situations.

Oh, training daily with Kleine and losing ten spirit fruits in a month—that counts, huh.

Regarding his own shortcomings, Su Lin could only say:

"Cheating feels great for a moment; keep cheating, keep feeling great!"

"Come back—Lao Tang needs your help." Lao Lu's voice echoed.

After assessing the current situation, Su Lin sighed helplessly.

"There's no way to disengage now."

His divine core showed invisible wear.

【Divine Spell: Guardian of the Fiery King】

A gate of light appeared above his head. Zhongli had assumed it was the gate that absorbed and returned spells—but instead, fifty soldiers burst forth, each with pure white wings sprouting from their backs, clad in crimson armor, wielding varied weapons and mastering diverse techniques, surging at Zhongli in a unified assault.

Upon contact, Zhongli realized these soldiers weren't mere puppets—they possessed independent combat awareness, each battle-hardened, their attacks clean and precise, their rotations seamless.

Su Lin pondered briefly, abandoned the idea of pressing the advantage to eliminate Zhongli, waved at him, concentrated his power into a single point, and after several seconds, shattered the spatial lockdown and vanished.

Only Zhongli remained, locked in battle—these Fiery King Guardians could even cast Saint-class spells, and with the Divine Realm's home-field advantage and the God of Light's buffs, they could hold off another god. Su Lin guessed this spell had originally been designed for large-scale warfare or divine conflicts.

Soon after, Su Lin arrived inside the Dawn Palace. Upon entering, he saw Lao Tang, his body sprouting feathers and covered in black mud.

Su Lin froze, noticing flashes of madness in Lao Tang's eyes.

"Kleine?" Su Lin asked tentatively, tossing a Saint-class purification spell.

Lao Tang nodded; his transformation gradually reversed, though disbelief still lingered on his face.

"Where's Lao Lu?"

This wasn't something Su Lin needed to handle—but Lao Lu's absence was strange.

"He's cocooning."

In the inner chamber, Weigong Shilang sat before a massive white cocoon, from within which came rhythmic thuds like a drumbeat of thunder.

His eyes were closed, seated cross-legged on the ground, a pool of golden dragon blood beneath him forming an alchemical matrix linked to the giant cocoon; his magical circuits were in a state of runaway activation, while in his mind, a blue longsword, a dark, deep spear, a blood-red dagger, and other weapons flashed incessantly.

Dragon Clan World, April 9th

At exactly 7 p. m., light rain began to fall from the sky.

A tide of darkness drowned half the city; a black serpent larger than skyscrapers smashed through the outer defenses beneath the Dawn Palace, swallowing all one hundred hybrid descendants with bloodlines averaging A-rank or higher.

"Good child, well done." Lu Mingze gently stroked the serpent's head—he was the most obedient of the eight siblings, and the only first-generation progenitor Lu Mingze had never included in his purge.

He looked up at the towering palace above; the distance wasn't great—but…

In his vision, space fractured like a kaleidoscope.

"Incredible," he murmured sincerely. "After living so long, I could never match such a technique."

"I need to rest." Kleine's form materialized from the void, his face pale, his spiritual essence depleted; he bit into a spirit fruit to replenish his state.

"Where's Norten?"

"He escaped—he's got real skill."

Those alchemical items were equivalent to Supernatural Items requiring no cost, and combined with the ritual-like matrix, they produced formidable effects.

Kleine felt the Dragon Kings of this world differed from those in the stories he'd read—they resembled more a group of mages, where lingyan and alchemy were their true power; their physical strength was formidable to humans, but from a Supernatural perspective, they were fragile.

"Young Zhou, could you trade me a few more of those runes next time?" Xiao Yan flew atop the black head on his Purple Crystal Wings; the phantom of Yao Lao emerged beside him.

"Of course."

For Kleine, the ancient scholar, crafting a Yesterday's Weight rune was far simpler now than it had been.

"Most of the people on the list have already perished as cannon fodder."

Those fools still naïvely believed they, like other participants, would get a second chance—when they entered this game, no miracle had been granted them.

"Alright, everyone, rest and regroup." Lu Mingze noticed the hybrid descendants gathering below, clearly unable to find another way into the upper hall.

"Heh, how old are you?" He glanced at the hall and the twelve temple-like structures below, squinting. "Still playing Saint Seiya?"

"You didn't need to get involved in this," Nono said to Su Xiaoqiang beside her. "After all, you weren't a hybrid before."

"I'm furious! I'm shaking with rage!" Su Xiaoqiang's golden pupils glowed: "I was quietly crushing on Chu Zihang, then suddenly I fell for Lu Mingfei, this guy who never says anything decent—but the worst part is, he's actually pretty great."

"I want to slap my past self for refusing to let him get in the car just to spite him!"

"The heroine was supposed to be me!"

"Who says the female lead can only be one?" Finger dug at his ear, walked over to the two of them and said, "Doesn't seem to be a problem. Young Lady, you can be my junior brother's second wife."

Thud.

Finger covered his knee and crouched down. Su Xiaoqiang withdrew her own calf.

"Hiss—"

"Finger, are you sure this road is correct?" Angre wiped the folding knife in his hand with a white cloth. "We've already been walking for several hours. Are you sure the scout's intel is accurate?"

"No mistake, it's this road." He raised his head and said.

"Sigh." Angre let out a sigh, his gaze icy. "Looks like grade G was too harsh on you, causing you to become a traitor now?"

"Hehe." Finger didn't continue his disguise, laughing a little awkwardly. Junyan burst forth, coiling around his body.

Several unfamiliar hybrids walked out from the corner.

A small-scale skirmish was on the verge of breaking out.

Evening, 7:00 PM.

Inside the Hall of Dawn.

The giant cocoon shattered.

A figure walked out from within, naked, skin like Bai Yu, a head of black hair draped to the waist.

Weigong Shilang wearily opened his eyes, looking at the man who had broken out of the cocoon. Over ten different kinds of power materialized, exhaled with that man's breathing, spilling out and swirling around the surroundings.

"Sorry for the trouble." Old Lu walked up to Weigong Shilang. Nine different weapons floated up from the ground, orbiting around him like guards.

"I'd really like to see it."

"The world you described in your words—at first I also felt it was too idealized," Weigong Shilang said weakly. "But from the looks of it, you really might be able to do it."

"Idealized? You really dare to say that." He turned his head, breaking into a brilliant smile. "Partner of Justice."

He walked outside barefoot. The door opened. His back gradually disappeared into the end of the pitch-black corridor.

Weigong Shilang closed his eyes. The residual weapon knowledge in his mind still battered his brain. His spirit was in a state of exhaustion. He meditated, waiting to recover.

Inside the great hall.

Su Lin occasionally tossed a few light spears toward Zhongli's side, while observing Zhongli's situation through his field of vision.

That Martial God calmly dealt with the dense attacks, while trying to drop a meteor on Su Lin's side.

Unfortunately, Su Lin's light spears could be thrown to Zhongli's position, while Zhongli's meteor would be displaced to another place by spatial dislocation.

Old Lu changed into a set of clothes, his long hair tied into a ponytail. He stepped across space, arriving at the palace entrance like an emperor. His expression was proud as he looked down…

Hm?

A spear of light shot straight for his face, stopping two centimeters in front of his face, unable to break through, and quietly halted.

He flicked the light spear with his finger, and the latter dissolved into light elements.

"Are you planning a rebellion?" Old Lu raised an eyebrow and asked. "Why are there only the two of you? Where did Jörmungandr and Chu Zihang go? Haven't they come back yet?"

"She logged out of the game just half an hour ago." Old Tang held a beef burger wrapped in foil in his hand, with freshly fried crispy french fries beside him. "She got solo-killed by McAllen."

Old Lu adjusted his permissions, and a scene appeared before everyone's eyes—it was the scene of Jörmungandr and Chu Zihang being pierced by McAllen, that is, Pompeii.

Chu Zihang was still holding the dragon-transformed Jörmungandr in the end, even though she was not in human form, and looked very different from Xia Mi.

"When we launched the rebellion before, I once suspected she was throwing the match." Old Tang chewed the burger in his mouth, speaking unclearly. "But later I found out she really is that bad."

"Otherwise, who do you think the shortest spear of Lust was made for?"

Su Lin looked at the two of them in silence, trying to defend Teacher Daye based on the book's setting. "She's a juvenile, McAllen is a sub-adult…"

Old Lu said faintly, "I helped her recover into a sub-adult…"

"……"

Old Tang licked the sauce off his finger and said, "Actually, she used a scheme to wound McAllen, who had his full Authority, and also wiped out an enemy legion. That's not bad either."

A blue cube appeared in Old Lu's palm, and he placed it atop the palace.

The sun gradually set, and night fell.

This blue light was like a lighthouse.

"That arrogant?" Su Lin asked.

That was tonight's activation device for the spiritual matrix.

"Isn't it because you're here." Old Lu chuckled. "We have to give the other side a little hope, a little something to look forward to. Otherwise, if they surrender outright, it won't be fun."

"Zhongli is more formidable than I imagined." Su Lin sensed the situation over there. Fortunately, he hadn't gotten into a prolonged fight with him, otherwise Old Tang might have been sent out of the game first.

Spiritual energy raged violently, surging skyward with elemental force. A pillar of golden light shot straight into the clouds at the East District.

Numerous rock spines were scattered, embedded in the earth or buildings. Those were originally Zhongli's creations used for attacking, but now they had become a formation restricting the Fierce King's guards.

11 lost, 39 restricted.

And Zhongli had already arrived below the palace to rendezvous with Lu Mingze and the others.

A dragon roar sounded. Those were the dozen-plus second-generation dragons who had defected, flying to the Shi Zhu near the hall to perch.

They were afraid. This was the unease stemming from their bloodlines—three Dragon Kings existed below.

Old Lu snapped his fingers, transferring the friendly hybrids in this city to outside the palace.

"Junior brother!" Finger ran over crying and hugged Old Lu's thigh, sobbing, "I was stabbed three times by the principal—no, that old thief Angre! It hurts so much!"

A dazzling Bai Guang flashed past. Finger only felt warm all over his body.

"Your girlfriend is over there." Old Lu pointed at the EVA over there.

"Got it." Finger jogged toward his girlfriend.

As early as the first day Angre and the others set foot in Japan, Old Lu had asked Su Lin to make a trip to the Nibelung beneath Greenland to revive a girl. That very night, Finger became a guide for the enemy.

Su Lin looked down at the dense crowd like ants. They all wore golden shields on their bodies. Those people were like a golden tide.

Even though the path forward had spatial dislocations, in at most half an hour, they could arrive here.

He glanced at Old Lu, grinning with squinted eyes.

"So it's just to keep Lu Mingze company, right?"

【Sacred-Class Spell: Legion of Glory】

【Sacred-Class Spell: Wisdom Blessing】

【Sacred-Class Spell: Light Harvest】

White flashes kept appearing; the half-breeds and second-generation dragons in the area felt their thoughts sharpen, their strength multiplied tenfold compared to their former selves, their fatigue and wounds vanished, even their bodies grew light as if they could fly, and a faint glow appeared on their skin—the protection granted by Su Lin.

Su Lin soared into the sky, spreading his six wings, pouring boundless light upon the world, and endless chains encircled and sealed the entire Dawn Floating Island.

Splash—chains continuously burst forth from the void, shattering, their locks transforming into spears of light that shot downward.

In response, rock spines emerged, constantly refreshing their shields.

"Huh—" Su Lin exhaled deeply and said to Old Lu, "You don't seriously expect me to face the first boss alone, do you?"

"Their target is the core device, not you. If they're smart, they'll have Zhongli hold you back."

"And as for Lu Mingze, you needn't worry—our respective authorities nearly cancel each other out."

Old Lu's former strength was indeed immense, and his authority certainly wasn't limited to this much power—but now, the maximum force he could unleash depended entirely on the limits of Lu Mingfei's body and soul.

That's why, in each previous stage, Old Lu could do different things; at first, helping a few half-breeds with bloodline ascension left him utterly exhausted.

Now he can barely manage to cancel out the authority of a fully manifested Black King.

Su Lin reached into his subspace vault and pulled out the Seven Sins, saying to Old Tang, "Lend it to you. Remember to return it tomorrow."

Old Tang's eyebrow twitched. "Thanks a lot."

"Don't mention it."

After speaking, Su Lin used his permissions and teleported directly into a building styled like a temple.

He thought for a moment, and while no one had arrived yet, he summoned a piano via historical projection and used the fifth-rank spell Radiant Feather to set the scene.

A melodious piano tune drifted out from the temple.

【Dear viewers, regardless of which side wins, today's war will be recorded in history.】

【This is the history of humanity】

【My god! Viewers, the half-breeds have broken through every checkpoint—they've reached the Supreme One!】

"To be honest, if the Supreme One hadn't said even if humanity wins, we'd still get the tech, I'd already be holding my family's AK outside the Federation's gates waiting for my package."

"Same here. I only realized how advanced those technologies were after returning from that floating island yesterday. Do those elites really want to sacrifice all of humanity's happiness for their own power?!"

"Heh, have you ever considered what those people would do with this tech if they got it? Would they use it for civilian purposes?"

"Fight on, O Supreme Dragon Monarch!"

"Smash human tyranny! The world belongs to the dragons!"

"It has nothing to do with humans, okay? Those monsters, the half-breeds, don't even look human—they're mixed with dragon blood, after all."

"The gods stand with the Dragon Supreme. Where the gods are, I stand."

"Aren't there gods on the other side too?"

"That little boy standing atop the dragon is so cute."

Chu Zihang was inside the "rest room"—more accurately, the area for eliminated contestants. This was the large virtual reality experience center on Dawn Island; losers were teleported here, and its equipment was connected to the outside network, allowing them to sync and watch the live battle.

"Son~~~." A handsome middle-aged man waved at Chu Zihang—it was Chu Tianjiao.

He stared at Jie Mengjia in Chu Zihang's arms, his eyes brightening.

A deep, genuine sense of pride welled up inside him.

"To hell with dragon-slaying—no one's ruining my son's moment."

He boasted to Chu Zihang about his own recent achievements.

Just moments ago, fueled by personal grudges, he had secretly stabbed Pang Bei while Pang Bei was dueling Nodong. He was truly tired—having sacrificed too much for the feud between half-breeds and dragons. This guy had even stabbed his own son and daughter-in-law. As the saying goes: when patience runs out, no more tolerance.

"Won't the principal reprimand you for this?" Chu Zihang said, unimpressed.

"You're already on this side. If I had any way to get here, I'd have followed you long ago." He spoke while glancing repeatedly at Jie Mengjia.

"How many tables will you set?"

"..." Chu Zihang fell silent for a moment, then said, "Be quiet. Watch the broadcast."

Chu Tianjiao smiled and turned his attention back to the battle.

Jie Mengjia finally released her grip from Chu Zihang's waist.

On a platform one hundred meters before the Dawn Hall.

"Can your ability even be used like this?" Old Lu frowned at Kleine.

Inside the temple-style building below, rock spears rained down like a storm, pillars of light shot skyward, celestial harmonies echoed across the battlefield, occasional strange fire lotuses bloomed, and just moments ago, the spell Candle Dragon—a word-spirit capable of destroying half of Asia—had erupted in a blinding, searing explosion that shook space, while simultaneously, the word-spirit Ancient Authority: Indra's Wrath summoned white-purple lightning spheres, found only on Jupiter, to deliver divine punishment within the temple.

But all of these...

did not surprise him as much as what Kleine had done.

Kleine pulled out a Zhongli in front of him. He could clearly tell it was a false projection, but the power emanating from it was nearly identical to the original—and in the next instant, the rigid historical projection came alive.

His mouth gaped wide enough to swallow an egg.

He thought this ability could only summon his own projection or projections of objects—he clearly remembered Su Lin only using it to eat hot pot, roast duck, French cuisine, Chinese dishes, and sending the projection out to clean the room or serve as a waiter.

Why can this ability be used like this?!

"Why has he never used it this way before?!!"

The answer came: Zhongli's golden and black spear pierced through the air, followed by a tide of black water—only Kleine remained before the Dawn Hall.

Kleine snapped his fingers; the space remained sealed. He glanced at Old Lu, desperately dodging Zhongli's attacks—his authority could be canceled out by Lu Mingze's.

He locked eyes with Lu Mingze; from both sides, they surged upward toward the control core. Beneath their feet, the black serpent, the Ocean and Water Long Wang Behemoth, controlled the word-spirit's power—waves spontaneously arose, engulfing Old Lu, then instantly freezing him into ice, trapping him in absolute frost. Simultaneously, Zhongli erected rock pillars around him, energy flowed, and the seal activated.

Kleine opened his mouth, simulating vocal resonance—a blast of air shot forth, but was blocked by the alchemical matrix.

Under the gaze of the world's cameras, Miss Kelaien and Lu Mingze, blades in hand, sprinted at extreme speed toward the control core of the alchemical matrix, while the Supreme had already been restrained.

It seemed humanity's victory was within reach.

The next second—

Whether it was Zhongli or Behemoth, or Miss Kelaien and Lu Mingze who were about to strike the core, all of them were hit by a ferocious attack, and Lu Mingze and Miss Kelaien were sent flying backward.

Each of them was resisting a weapon coming at them from the front; of course, Miss Kelaien was pierced clean through—ancient scholars were weak in close combat—and the historical projection that had been pierced immediately dissolved into nothingness and vanished.

And within the ice and stone array, not a single figure could be seen.

Four weapons flew back from the combatants, circling around the Supreme who stood aloof in the void. In his hand he held a dark, abyssal long spear, and around him revolved eight different weapons.

Vast magical power spread out from Old Lu's body.

Zhongli's pupils contracted, and a brand-new golden jade barrier shield appeared on the other allied companions.

"An immortal?" he murmured to himself, looking toward Old Lu, who wore a ponytail and held a long spear.

'No, he has the standing of an immortal, but his strength is incomplete.'

Behemoth felt a pang of heart-palpitations—not the fear brought by bloodline, but another kind of indescribable dread.

Old Lu's face was full of conflict and thought. He looked toward the newly appeared Miss Kelaien and said, "Logically speaking, it should be the same kind of ability."

"I think it's probably because he's got a hole in his head?"

Miss Kelaien was silent for a few seconds, then nodded. "Perhaps."

"Got caught off guard, didn't we." Lu Mingze shook out his hand, smiling as he said, "That's more like it."

"My foolish brother, let me see exactly what you've learned." Behind him surged the phantom of a colossal beast, its face bearing two rows of golden pupils.

Miss Kelaien reached into the air three times; this time his luck was better, and he pulled out a man—his skin was a bronze hue, his build average, his hair black and his eyes brown, gazing indifferently at everything before him—Azik Eggers.

This former Sequence 2 angel scanned his surroundings once, his body swelling as he transformed into a giant serpent that blotted out the sky, comparable in size to Behemoth—illusory yet real. From between his scales grew white feathers, like the feathered serpent god of old legends from the American continent.

Lu Mingze, Behemoth, Azik, Zhongli—such a lineup was luxurious enough and indeed effective. Old Lu, who had just made his dazzling entrance and looked down on all beneath heaven, was instantly suppressed and could only dodge in haste. No matter how fearsome he would be a million years from now, the power he could wield right now was limited.

Miss Kelaien frowned as he examined the control core and that palace over there—even this level of battle's aftershocks hadn't shattered or瓦解 them.

He decided to head over and take a look first. Earlier he had almost touched that control core; that defensive measure seemed to only target thrown objects.

Miss Kelaien, relying on the fact that this historical projection bore Zhongli's shield, dodged swiftly and leaped toward that place.

But just as he ran beneath the hall, he looked toward a patch of empty air. As an ancient scholar, he could naturally see this historical gap—Su Lin was inside, wrapped in... a cotton blanket?

The instant their eyes met, Su Lin tossed aside the blanket and stepped out of the historical gap.

Miss Kelaien knew that Su Lin had stuffed his divine spark into his own historical projection, with his true body still hidden somewhere, but he hadn't expected Su Lin's true body to crawl out of the historical gap on its own.

"Since when have you been here?"

"Since you started saying I've got a hole in my head."

"..."

Miss Kelaien's thoughts raced, his mind analyzing the current situation. Su Lin's own combat ability wasn't the key—the key was that he should still be able to pull out two more historical projections.

Sure enough, Su Lin pulled out a Norton and a version of himself. The power of the God of Light traveled along the historical projection into his own historical projection, and the two projections went up to intercept the besiegers who were trying to switch targets while holding the advantage, incidentally easing some of the pressure on Old Lu.

Miss Kelaien smiled, stepped out from a concealed position behind a stone pillar, reached into the air twice, and dragged out a silver-white, scaleless tail. He released his right hand, and another giant serpent appeared above the Hall of Dawn—its eyes a cold, vivid red, its body covered in patterns and runes—the Serpent of Fate.

Immediately after, he controlled his marionette to swap positions, moving to a more distant location, and through the marionette said to Su Lin over there: "A tiny Jin Dan, how laughable, how laughable."

"Heh heh heh."

Su Lin was unruffled. A completely transparent card appeared in his hand; the card split in two, shattered, and dissipated into the air.

The Mercury Serpent bit its own tail, forming an exaggerated turning wheel.

'Restart ineffective'

Hmm—

A piercing, shrill sound rang out.

The eyes of everyone on the battlefield converged on Su Lin's side. They saw a Han Bafang long sword appear in Su Lin's hand, and he smiled calmly and fearlessly at the Serpent of Fate.

His free hand rose toward the sky, as if about to grasp something in the void.

"Sword, come!!!"

Tomorrow new members will join the group, and I'll wrap up the Dragon Race storyline at the same time. I've received everyone's criticism—I'm very sorry.
