Chapter 211: Interested in Becoming the Mistress of the Source Fortress?

~13 min read 2,570 words

Clearly, the joys and sorrows of the Outer Gods and humans were not the same; the Fallen Mother Goddess did not understand what Lu Mingfei was shouting, only that he was extremely noisy.

Under intense external pressure, She temporarily abandoned the idea of elevating Bletchley Abraham to True Godhood and fusing with the Source Substance, instead directing the Source Substance "Nest" to gestate another body.

For the Fallen Mother Goddess, this actually increased her investment; her recovery speed was tied to the number of life forms naturally born in a certain star region, and pouring her remaining reserves into this struggle would even slow her own body's revival.

But this was unavoidable; she had considered all existing forces on Earth, yet never anticipated that an individual had absorbed the "City of Catastrophe," and that this individual also came from beyond this universe.

If successful, whether the Source Substances on Earth or those individuals from beyond the cosmos, all would become part of Her, becoming Her children.

As for the individual who swallowed the City of Catastrophe, She had already attempted it before—no form of tangible or intangible corruption could penetrate it.

These beings from beyond the cosmos held immense value, especially the one whose avatar carried a Divine Core and wore garments resembling Source Substance.

If the Source Fortress and the Chaos Sea could not be obtained, at least bring him and his avatar back to the stars.

Under the Fallen Mother Goddess's control, Mr. Door still maintained his endless layered doors, but now these doors and orbs ceased overlapping; at this moment, She needed to disperse the Order's radiance into the stars.

Most of Her fleshly robe detached, and the giant hand emerging from Her body rapidly disintegrated, converging toward the incomplete Nest.

Following spiritual guidance, Miss Kelaien sharply raised his head to gaze at the crimson moon hanging high in the sky, where a twisted female humanoid figure appeared, connected to the black moon, a monstrous shadow writhing in hideous fury.

"Stop Her!"

Once the Fallen Mother Goddess's body took form, it would be like a wolf entering a sheep pen.

During the White Plague that swept the continent, the mad God of Death, possessing only half an Ancient Day rank, dared to confront a Primordial Witch and seven True Gods—this alone reveals the power of Ancient Day rank.

The "First Blasphemous Tablet," which in the story expelled the Fallen Mother Goddess, was absent; thus, under current conditions, there was no way to expel Her from Earth. Once She descended upon this continent, they would have no chance of victory.

Excluding Adam, the God-Forsaken Land now held only three True God-level beings; Zhongli still needed to suppress the corruption within him, his spear still not removed.

"This was a deliberate scheme—after discovering the First Blasphemous Tablet, She made this arrangement."

Su Lin glanced at Zhongli at the center of the Giant King's Ruins, wondering whether he should just call out to Miss Kelaien and flee together.

At worst, let Miss Kelaien wander the multiverse—after all, his lease contract in his own world still had several months left.

"Zhongli's corruption hasn't been cleared yet; I can't take the Source Fortress with me." Miss Kelaien's voice came.

In fact, even without Su Lin speaking, Miss Kelaien had already thought of the classic thirty-six stratagems—escape as the best option.

But current conditions didn't permit it; whether or not Amon was intentional, the efficiency of clearing Zhongli's corruption had clearly dropped significantly.

Su Lin sighed helplessly, deciding to try once more; if all else failed, he'd use a purification item on Zhongli.

Before the pure white light ended, Su Lin manipulated the dancing light elements, forming a storm of blazing light-fire centered on Mr. Door.

The alchemical weapon "Pride" descended straight from the storm's eye, carrying red lightning of calamity.

At this moment, the scenery within the "Flesh Door" beside Mr. Door began to change, uniformly becoming a moon surface dotted with craters of varying sizes.

Vast amounts of crimson moonlight surged forth like a tide from within the door, repelling all attacks from Su Lin, Lu Mingfei, and Zhongli; Miss Kelaien attempted to interfere using the Secrets Servant pathway's Divine Trait on the Source Fortress, but the effect was negligible.

"I originally planned to trade this with Medici, but now it's useless—take it." Amon's avatar tossed a crown stained with blood—a Divine Trait of Hunter Path, Rank One: "Conqueror."

Lu Mingfei glanced at the Divine Trait, and instantly, it vanished into thin air; his inner aura thickened slightly.

At the center of the blazing white storm, the red lightning of calamity grew even thicker.

Lu Mingfei's golden eyes blazed brighter; a drumming sound suddenly erupted across the battlefield, and the impassable wall of crimson moonlight was violently struck by an invisible force.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

With the reinforcement from Lu Mingfei's newly acquired Divine Trait, the boundless crimson tide finally began to recede slightly.

Sensing the shift on the battlefield, the Fallen Mother Goddess no longer held back; she completely stripped the crimson robe from Mr. Door. The robe, one end billowing with faint radiance, summoned even more moonlight from within the door.

At this moment, centered on the incomplete Source Substance, spirits and flesh continuously formed; a twisted crimson humanoid figure seemed ready to step from unreal illusion into reality.

Impossible to stop—any action could not prevent "Her" birth.

Mr. Door also gained an unobstructed opportunity to ascend to godhood at this moment.

Su Lin was about to turn away when he noticed Amon, who had stood near Zhongli, had vanished. He suddenly remembered something, squinting toward the "Door" gentleman.

As the crimson robe detached from Mr. Door—Bletchley Abraham—those thoughts long intertwined with madness echoed with a familiar voice:

"Do you wish to open the gates of the God-Forsaken Land for Her? Then everything is finished."

Inside Bletchley Abraham, the speed of overlapping doors slowed slightly.

"Leave it to me—at least there remains a glimmer of hope, at the very least, keeping Her trapped in the God-Forsaken Land, unable to break the Seven Gods' seal, unable to open that door!" The familiar voice sounded again, emphasizing the word "Door."

The figure ahead was nearly complete; after the crimson robe detached from Mr. Door, His reason gradually returned.

Without prolonged hesitation, He painfully uttered His first voice upon returning to reality: "Fine."

Mr. Door's figure froze completely, then He raised His right hand toward His own face.

The next second, Mr. Door lifted His head and placed a single crystal eyepatch over His right eye!

Su Lin felt no great surprise at this scene, only a silent sigh—this Wanderer had ultimately not escaped His destiny.

To gain one more chance of victory, in the Southern Continent, Miss Kelaien had requested from Paleth the Divine Trait of Rank One, knowing Paleth had the means to strip Rank One's trait while surviving.

In return, Miss Kelaien promised Paleth the protection of the Fool and restoration to Rank One before the apocalypse, and that Amon would no longer hunt Him.

Paleth did not hesitate long; though He bore grudges against Amon, Miss Kelaien's proposal was clearly the best option. He desired Amon's Singularity and Divine Trait, but knew he could not afford the price.

After acquiring Paleth's Divine Trait, Miss Kelaien made a deal with Amon and Adam.

Amon, the hidden backup targeting Mr. Door, had been waiting—for the moment when the Fallen Mother Goddess's influence on "Mr. Door" was weakest!

"Now!" Su Lin shouted to everyone.

Su Lin instantly condensed a spear of light infused with "Pure Chaotic Energy," wielding the chaotic force that bound Divine Cores; this spear was not aimed at the Fallen Mother Goddess, but at Amon!

Zhongli and Lu Mingfei also launched attacks toward Amon; Miss Kelaien's summoned Serpent of Fate attempted to impose negative states upon Amon.

A flash of light erupted instantly from Amon's monocle, illuminating the entire world.

At this moment, all erroneous actions were corrected, all seemingly normal actions became erroneous, and all clocks across the world skipped forward several seconds.

Among them, the Fallen Mother Goddess's flesh, about to step into reality, developed an error at its origin, reverting to its previous illusory, hazy state; the crimson robe and flesh composing spirit and flesh reappeared as if time reversed.

The attacks directed at Amon suffered logical errors in targeting and impact; the next instant, they all appeared beside the Fallen Mother Goddess's Source Substance.

This was the final plan: after fulfilling the conditions of Mr. Door's return and Amon successfully stealing Mr. Door's ascension ritual, exploit the irreplicable, immense influence of a World's Divine Path deity ascending at that precise moment to direct the strongest attack at Amon.

You may question Amon's cruel whims, but you cannot question Amon's ability.

At least, when this guy is your teammate, as long as he doesn't stab you in the back or dig traps, he's fairly reliable.

The Fallen Mother Goddess, struck by this sudden blow, sought to mobilize more power—but Mr. Door had vanished, leaving behind in this world "Mr. Error," Amon.

The "Gate of Flesh" collapsed at high speed; more crimson tides from the lunar surface strained to squeeze through the ruins of the "Gate of Flesh."

At the moment the attack descended, the crimson scroll bloomed with enchanting hues; a dreamlike, luminous radiance softly emerged, announcing the end of all things.

The light did not last long; after it dispersed, the Gate of Flesh vanished, leaving before Su Lin a source-matter shaped like a "nest."

Su Lin casually layered multiple seals upon the source-matter and began preparing "Dimensional Exile" for it.

But his attention was not on the source-matter; instead, he frowned, staring at Amon—who had replaced Mr. Door—with an exaggerated look of bewilderment.

Isn't Mr. Error supposed to be Ms. Error?!

"What?" Amon brushed aside a strand of slightly curled black hair blocking his right eye socket, lifted the single eyepiece carved from crystal, and a bell-like voice rang out: "Does my appearance surprise you?"

Su Lin fell silent for a moment, then turned to Miss Kelaien and said: "If you two formed a pair, it wouldn't be impossible—have you considered it?"

He turned to Amon again and said: "Niece, interested in becoming the mistress of the Source Fortress?"

The moment Su Lin spoke, transparent worms crawled across Miss Kelaien's face, then quickly receded.

【One sentence carries double mockery—you're wasting your talent as a God of Light.】

Even Amon did not answer, but the indifferent smile on His face stiffened slightly; then His hair shortened, and His flesh and spirit slowly reverted to a male form, while several streams of blood-like energy oozed out.

Miss Kelaien took a top hat from a historical projection and placed it over his head to conceal his expression; if not for the need to stay near Su Lin and Lu Mingfei to effectively deter Amon, he would never have stayed here.

Su Lin was about to speak again but swallowed the words—because a wild, twisted sensation pulsed from the source-matter; the anchor for "Dimensional Exile" had shattered!

Nearby, Lu Mingfei's face had turned nearly green; he stared at the source-matter and said: "How hard is this world's BO to kill?!"

Miss Kelaien shook his head and said: "The Fallen Mother Goddess originally relied on past corruption to interfere with the Land of the Forsaken. We just blocked Her physical invasion; now we must find a way to suppress the corruption within the Land of the Forsaken."

Zhongli's voice came from afar: "Below—be careful!"

From the cracked earth below, the bottomless abyss leading to the Chaos Sea, countless crimson energies infused with the "Primordial" will rose together with that "Darkness."

It was an unprecedented sight: malformed black lifeforms, countless as ants, piled together like worms, stepping on their own kind below, climbing upward, pressing relentlessly—forming at astonishing speed a colossal hand.

That hand opened upward in a grasping motion, and deep within the source-matter, extreme yin and filth replaced the original "Mother Nest," which had merely represented "Life."

The Fallen Mother Goddess had twisted the "Mother Nest," which had never been torn or altered before.

As if responding to the hunger of the giant hand in the abyssal fissure, in an instant, amid a torrent of source-matter fluctuations, the surrounding space boiled with countless ripples.

Crimson light erupted; the Fallen nature's life energy surged forth, forcing Su Lin and the others to retreat, while the source-matter, upon contact with the black hand formed of countless aberrations, absorbed their flesh like a vortex.

Su Lin grabbed Miss Kelaien and Lu Mingfei and rushed them to the ruins of the Giant King's Court, intending to have Amon quickly steal or transfer the corruption from Zhongli's body—though Amon had become a god, the task still carried risk.

"From my many years of experience, I think He's going for a second transformation," Lu Mingfei called out to the group, scanning the horizon.

"Obvious," Su Lin, as a veteran from the previous run, naturally had experience; though he'd used technology last time, that didn't hinder his accurate analysis: "Recommend tactical retreat now."

"It might not be harder than before," Miss Kelaien, as a seasoned soul-system player, analyzed: "If this state were stronger, He would've unleashed it right away instead of waiting until now."

As Miss Kelaien spoke, He noticed the crimson moon above had changed: previously half crimson and half black, it was now seventy percent black.

All the monsters were absorbed into the profound darkness, transforming into a spherical mass dripping black viscous fluid, as if gestating something.

"Promise me—you'll never heal again," Su Lin said blankly to Miss Kelaien.

"It seems He's lifted His suppression of the Primordial," Amon adjusted his monocle and smiled: "This is troublesome. Why not hand the Source Fortress over to me?"

"How long until your two dads merge into one?" Su Lin asked Amon.

"That depends on how long the Hanged Man and Adam take to reach victory or an agreement," Amon pushed the edge of his monocle and said: "Strictly speaking, only after their fusion can they be called my father. Let's hope we can hold out."

"What about you?" Su Lin turned to Lu Mingfei beside him and asked: "How long until your grandpa shows up?"

Lu Mingfei fell silent for a moment, then held up a number.

"Hours?" Su Lin thought for a moment—it shouldn't be a problem.

"Two days," Lu Mingfei replied.

"Damn it," Su Lin sighed, shaking his head; just as he prepared to act, a faint, flickering shadow curtain appeared in the sky above the Land of the Forsaken.

On a distant Shanfeng, before a colossal cross, the curtain split open a gap.

Adam stepped forth, clad in a simple white robe, his thick golden beard flowing; behind him clung a dense shadow with five heads.

The shadow partially merged with Him, yet had not fully become one.

He glanced at the red-covered book in His hand, tracing the gilded Cyrillic title with His finger, and smiled calmly at the shadow behind:

"Sometimes I cannot tell whether your sacrifice was driven by divinity, or whether my remembrance of that memory stems from humanity."

"Perhaps many things are not so important—after all, we were once one."

He crossed the distance of space and met Su Lin's gaze at the Giant Wang Ting:

"Comrade, do you still have vodka?"
