Chapter 216: The End of the Mysterious Arc (Part 2) — My Nascent Soul Is Unnameable

~13 min read 2,543 words

People's joys and sorrows are not the same; some see Su Lin as mighty and imposing, but only he knows the bitterness within.

Of course, he no longer feels such emotions now.

If he had the chance to go to that Universe Union Hall and rate No. 217, he would definitely give No. 217 a rating!

First beat them up, then give a low score—commonly called "giving a rating."

Only after confirming it did it tell itself that there was such a thing as a fusion participant.

The "completion" trait of the 【One-Time Fusion Evolution Device】 is indeed extremely powerful.

The gray mist and the seawater of the Chaos Sea, along with their internal spiritual wills, were completed into the full "Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun" and "The Primordial."

Now, after merging Su Lin's remaining humanity with his various forms, he watches in his spiritual world as the "patchwork version of himself" battles these two entities for control of the body.

Though merely a temporary body constructed from data, "Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun" and "The Primordial" have fully revived and undergone a soul-level fusion with Su Lin.

It was like placing an open herring can inside a fridge full of pineapple—three utterly distinct souls fused together, completely and utterly cross-contaminated.

Though Su Lin was originally a mishmash, it was only like sweet tofu pudding, salty tofu pudding, spicy tofu pudding—all different forms of the same thing.

Now, it's probably spoiled.

Fusion aside, "The Primordial" and "Fusheng Xuanhuang Tianzun" still used Su Lin's utterly emotionless, only-dao-driven self-awareness as a dividing line to begin another struggle since the Old Era.

Of course, they both knew their existence would last no more than twenty-four hours, the exact duration depending on how long Su Lin took to achieve his goal, after which they would sink back into slumber awaiting revival.

At present, they could not compete with Su Lin for dominance of consciousness, for Su Lin now was equivalent to a machine—devoid of both humanity and divinity.

Under Su Lin's current state, their divinity was gradually being suppressed; fusion was mutual, and their own suffering was no less.

Thus, they chose a lesser alternative: to interfere with each other's resurrection backups.

"Erase the spiritual imprint within the Source Fortress."

"Erase the spiritual imprint within the Chaos Sea."

"Eliminate Adelos."

"Place Adam inside the Source Fortress for cleansing."

These conflicting intentions converged, and Su Lin's humanity silently marveled.

Though both were originally different facets of the same personality, these two had always clung to the spirit of "if I can't have it, neither can you," waging war against each other since before the Old Era.

Their first thought was never how to revive themselves, but how to seize control and destroy the other's resurrection backup.

In this current state, they had each learned partial information about the other's backups and sought to use Su Lin to obstruct the other's revival.

The original body control ratio should have been 6:2:2—Su Lin at 60%, each of them at 20%—but now, their mutual restraint granted Su Lin 80% control, allowing him to decide to simply leave Earth without doing anything.

Before his humanity was fully suppressed, Su Lin could only sigh.

"Impressive. Impressive."

Under these circumstances, Su Lin had originally intended to clap and say something cheeky to stoke the fire, but soon, he couldn't laugh anymore.

"..."

He himself was still at the Golden Core Stage, his main cultivation art being Gu Tianwang, whose unique feature lies not in talent but in analyzing the rules of 【Dao】's operation and cultivating insight.

Now, he was being entirely covered by a mass of cultivation-optimized "most relevant" data.

The Dao-essence of the data-body resonated just as it had when his avatar absorbed the Divine Light Core; Su Lin's main body experienced waves of resonance.

"The past is distant, the future uncertain; take Dao as foundation, forge heart and body as one."

A crack formed in his internal Golden Core…

"Shit!"

……

……

In the starry void, "Su Lin" arrived atop the Moon, now fully transformed into a pitch-black dark crescent, its interior having long since mutated into a vessel for the awakening of "The Primordial."

"Su Lin" felt neither joy nor sorrow; doing this held little real meaning—revenge, killing enemies, were merely incidental steps on the path of cultivation.

In the trajectory of Dao's operation, these grudges and bonds were merely causal vessels in the development of all things.

As a being destined to leave this world, and one whose cultivation path differed, He would not waste time on such meaningless acts.

Provided He were Su Lin's true self.

But He was merely data, existing for less than an hour at minimum and no more than twenty-four hours at maximum—He was not even fully Su Lin; He was simultaneously "The Mystery Lord," "The Primordial," and "Su Lin," a fusion product.

Given the current situation, fusion would dissolve after Su Lin's task was completed, rendering all His thoughts and actions meaningless.

Heaven and earth have no mercy—they treat all things as straw dogs.

All things in heaven and earth grow according to their own developmental laws and internal causes, operating in accordance with natural principles.

Before higher powers, He too was merely one link in the chain of law, unable to escape it.

Had Su Lin not cultivated Gu Tianwang, this form would never have emerged; instead, Su Lin's humanity would have dominated all power.

But then, "The Mystery Lord" and "The Primordial" would have influenced far more layers of reality.

Thus, for Su Lin, this current state is actually more advantageous.

As his thoughts gently flowed, the crimson moon, formed from the residual power of the Fallen Mother Goddess on the Divine Light Core, emitted a brilliant crimson glow.

Unlike "Zhongli," the awakening of "The Primordial" on the Moon was far more violent, for here lay the Fallen Mother Goddess's true body.

Thus, the Outer Gods watching from afar did not approach the Moon.

"Su Lin" felt no fear; whether by current rank or as two distinct facets of the original personality, He knew well how to make "The Primordial" sink back into slumber.

The Source Fortress shook violently; gray-white mist and Chaos Sea seawater spilled from His body, turning the entire Moon into a sea shrouded in morning fog.

Beneath His feet, an incredibly brilliant light of order emerged, using His body's rank to reverse-contaminate the Moon.

Under His influence, the pitch-black sludge covering the entire Moon gradually turned transparent.

Soon, all chaotic and insane residual forces on the Moon were completely purified, and an immensely dense aura filled every corner of the Moon.

"Su Lin"'s spiritual power swept across the Moon, manifesting countless materials and items required for rituals into reality.

He turned to look at the starry sky behind him, tapping the void with his hand, sketching.

With his movements, identical formations were inscribed upon each chosen planet, while magical treasures and materials that did not belong to this world were conjured into existence at the same time.

Before long, the starlight of those stars linked together, outlining a complex and precise Star Dou formation.

If one looked from Earth toward the starry sky, one could see that the center of this star chart was the Moon.

'Su Lin' took a step, and his figure appeared upon every chosen star; then, he began to descend feathers of light like goose-feather snow.

After completing all this, those figures descending everywhere sat cross-legged on the ground, chanting Buddhist scriptures in their mouths, as enormous swastika characters manifested all around.

In an instant, a kingdom belonging primarily to the power of Order appeared in the starry sky.

But this was not 'Su Lin' wanting to establish an unprecedented holy land in this world; he tossed the crimson moon in his hand toward the Moon's surface, and this crimson moon rapidly expanded and merged with the Moon.

The authority of the Deception altered states, the authority of Omniscience and Omnipotence began to create suitable flesh, and as the formation operated, the Moon's environment was instantly permeated by extreme Yin.

Upon those "Bai Xue" planets, the feathers of light piled upon the earth and drifting from the sky were stained pitch-black.

Under the formation's influence, the perfect cradle for the Fallen Mother Goddess's complete revival took shape.

The Fallen Mother Goddess had already perished; if 'Su Lin' wanted to make her perish again, what should he do?

The answer was simple: revive her, then kill her once more.

Only with the help of the two pillars of this universe, the Fallen Mother Goddess's demise this time was even more thorough.

On the matter of letting the Fallen Mother Goddess fall into complete slumber, never again able to interfere with Earth, all consciousnesses within unanimously voted in favor.

Pillar camaraderie? You think those Sourced substances sealed within the Western Continent of Earth just appeared out of nowhere?

If it weren't for needing other Outer Gods to contain Adam and Klein, and if they weren't truly reviving, the consciousnesses within would even have wanted to seize this chance to sweep the entire starry sky clean, leaving only themselves in existence.

Darkness, filth, and the power of corruption appeared deep within the Moon, and Yin power of the same attribute streamed in ceaselessly from the starry sky; a spatial rift opened deep within the Moon, and the Earth portion of the Mother Nest dropped out from within it.

Originally at this time 'Su Lin' should have accelerated the Mother Nest's revival, but the "Original" and "Deception" within were opposing this action and even wanted to delay it.

It seemed they had found a way, wanting to influence Su Lin's main body after the fusion state ended through 24 hours of fusion.

Unfortunately, He, whose main consciousness was Su Lin's, after a brief delay, still decided to accelerate the Fallen Mother Goddess's revival.

An ancient, mottled, immensely weathered great wall-clock struck, and the entire Moon's time accelerated rapidly at that moment.

Gradually, upon the desolate Moon, the crimson sea skipped through vast stretches of time to take shape; waves surged, and a wisp of blood-color was born from within the Mother Nest.

The Fallen Mother Goddess felt she had slept for a very, very long time, yet the changes in the outside world remained clear.

An endless stream of life force arrived; she could even sense that it had been converted from power of another nature—that holy light, defiled, had fundamentally become a cradle of corruption and filth.

The celestial sound that originally symbolized stability for frail beings had also become a song ceaselessly awakening her; unstable evolution and reproduction were the true melody.

'It seems the objective has been achieved.

A being from beyond the universe has given birth to her own child.

These powers from beyond the universe, once assimilated, can extremely rapidly accelerate my awakening…'

In her hazy consciousness, the Fallen Mother Goddess issued an order to search for the Mother Nest torn apart on Earth.

After yet another vast stretch of years, she sensed in the void that she had returned to the origin of life.

Thus, she awakened from her state of annihilation, born from within the Mother Nest.

The crimson tide was absorbed by the Mother Nest, and a translucent blood-colored robe draped over a twisted feminine figure.

She looked toward her most outstanding child, seeking the meritorious contributor of the Sourced substances.

Black hair and black eyes, draped in a translucent dark cloak, a cross hanging upon the chest…

Why did she sense a feeling of familiarity from that cloak and cross?

Suddenly, she saw a slippery, patterned, sinister tentacle emerge from beneath that cloak, and that tentacle swayed at her.

Then, that silver cross became illusory, and within it a figure composed of light was gazing at her.

"Deception and the Original want you to run as far away as possible, and Su Lin—that is, the human side who is the primary controller of this body—has a voice message."

As the black-haired, black-eyed man spoke, the Fallen Mother Goddess began attempting to flee; she forcibly nurtured the Sourced substances into complete form, mobilizing the Yin power of the entire universe.

Not to make an enemy of the other party, but to give birth to a backup body at the edge of the starry sky and transfer her consciousness over to enter slumber once more.

She had already understood that this revival was a fraud!

But the Fallen Mother Goddess was astonished to discover that she was trapped within a star domain and could not escape; it seemed the Yin power of the entire universe had been concentrated into this star domain!

"The voice message is as follows."

"Good morning, have you eaten? If not, take my fist."

The black-haired, black-eyed man finished speaking, nodded, and brought the Fallen Mother Goddess to the core region of the star chart.

Chains of law burst forth from countless planets, jointly forged from the Gray Fog and the Chaos Sea, sealing this star domain completely.

The shackles of those chains were composed of "Error," "Deception," and "Light," reaching out from every position in the void without distinction of up or down.

Spirit fixation complete.

Soul anchoring complete.

Concept lock complete.

Status grafting complete.

…

Error bestowal complete.

After ensuring the Fallen Mother Goddess had absolutely no way to awaken again, 'Su Lin' turned and departed.

The instant he turned, the entire unmanned star domain was severed, detached from this universe, and exiled into dimensional space.

Twelve pure white lotuses covered the star domain; these lotuses took root in space, erupting with a burst of Chaos light, annihilating all matter along with the entire space until nothing remained.

The chains withdrew from that space undergoing repair; 'Su Lin' scanned the cosmic deep, and after a period of internal tug-of-war, his voice spread to every corner of the universe as a delirium only mythological beings could hear.

"I've destroyed the Fallen Mother Goddess; where is the High-Dimensional Observer? I'm only looking for Her; if I can't find Her, I'll come for you lot."

He waited for the Outer Gods' believers to deliver the message to these "slumbering" Outer Gods, and incidentally waited for that group of Outer Gods to perform divination on the message's authenticity.

Several minutes later, a twisted chain of black thorns pointed to a certain point in the void.

And a black-gray aura of decay corroded a space, opening a "door" to another dimension.

"Thank you."

After expressing thanks, 'Su Lin' stepped into that other dimension, and simultaneously created a luminous gate to seal off the corroded area.

……

……

"Took 49 minutes."

The coordinated harassment by 'Mystery' and 'Primordial' still posed some resistance to Su Lin, but this open confrontation occurred while Su Lin held the winning card, so their attempts only slightly slowed his progress.

The data stream rapidly dissipated from Su Lin, and that immense power, along with 'Mystery' and 'Primordial', was unloaded.

But this was not Su Lin's focus; after his core consciousness returned, he immediately donned the Tianhe Battle Robe and checked his internal Jin Dan.

What he saw…

An indescribable transparent creature, radiant with light, emerged from a crack in the Jin Dan, draped in a dark cloak.
