Chapter 3: Chapter Three: Copying Abilities Has No Proficiency
Ye Fan’s world, the Concealing Heaven
The Cauldron of Primordial Qi of All Things simmered beast meat, blended with various spiritual herbs, its rich fragrance enveloping the dark underground cave.
A mortal with slightly weaker constitution might faint from merely inhaling the aroma.
Ignoring the black dog and Fatty who wanted to steal the food, Ye Fan decided to first check the novel in which he was the protagonist.
“Concealing Heaven? Not a bad name.” Ye Fan murmured, but seeing the group message, he grew unsettled.
【I can send you back two years…】
Ye Fan: “…….”
Ye Fan: “You’re dropping the act now, are you?”
Xiao Yan: “A big shot right next to me?!”
Those who can cross dimensions are never ordinary.
I believed this guy’s lie about a mundane world.
Do travelers in this parallel world have this ability?!
Can the legendary Dou Emperor reverse time and space?
Xiao Yan’s hand trembled as he was refining pills; luckily, Yao Lao, who had been watching, stepped in to stabilize the flames, or the furnace would have exploded.
“Focus!” Yao Lao looked at his disciple, wondering what was wrong with him today.
“Yes, Master.”
But Xiao Yan still kept part of his attention on the group chat.
Time travel was too much for a mere Great Dou Master like him to remain calm—this was something he shouldn’t even touch.
Han Li: “Can you reverse time and space?”
Su Lin: “I have a one-time-use treasure, useless to me; coincidentally, I’m very interested in the Devil Fruits of your world, and I want to go take a look.”
Ye Fan sighed inwardly—everyone in this group seemed extraordinary; just moments ago, Su Lin had claimed he’d been transported to an ordinary mundane world, and now he produced such a treasure.
You call that a mundane world?
6.
But who doesn’t have a few secrets of their own?
Luffy: “I want to go! Please, let me save Ace once!”
Luffy responded in the group, understanding Su Lin’s meaning.
Even if he couldn’t change the present, at least let him save Ace once—if Ace could live in another world, it would be enough for him.
Su Lin: “Let me prepare first.”
Su Lin: “@All Members, could anyone lend me some survival items usable by ordinary people?”
Han Li frowned—Su Lin clearly possessed such a supreme treasure, yet he was asking them for ordinary items?
Someone daring to enter another world probably isn’t a fraud.
Is he pretending? Or…
No, Su Lin knows them inside and out—he likely understands their personalities too.
Could he really be an ordinary person?
But even an ordinary person wouldn’t casually hand out such a supreme treasure for others to use—he must have some goal, and he surely has other backing.
After brief thought, Han Li didn’t hesitate—he pulled out several talismans, pills, and a type of projectile weapon.
Regardless, he owed this man a great favor—he should try to befriend him first.
Xiao Yan and Ye Fan, though with their own considerations, also didn’t hesitate—they selected some items usable by ordinary people and sent them to the group chat: all items and pills that required no Dou Qi or spiritual power to use.
At the same time, they also explained the usage methods in the group.
After a while, Su Lin, fully prepared, picked up a Cross-Dimension Talisman.
Success or failure hinges on this one move.
Group member Su Lin is using a Cross-Dimension Talisman on your world. Allow channel establishment?
Accept / Reject
“Accept!”
Luffy suddenly shouted, making Chopper choke on his octopus dumpling.
“Cough! Cough!” Chopper turned to Luffy, seeing him flushed with excitement, fists clenched: “Luffy?”
The surrounding crowd also turned to look—no one in the world didn’t recognize the Straw Hat crew.
Before Su Lin, a silver-white talisman page engraved with intricate patterns and unfamiliar script suddenly appeared; within less than a second, light flared and faded, revealing a deep, space-warping gate before them.
“Huh.” Su Lin smiled: “So cool.”
He stepped through the gate.
Simultaneously, from the gate on the Straw Hat side, a young man with a clean face, dressed in casual clothes and slippers, stepped out.
After he emerged, the gate vanished.
Within the view, the Cross-Dimension Talisman showed one remaining use—it would disappear after round-trip completion.
“Forgot to change my slippers at home. Doesn’t matter.” Su Lin glanced at his shoes, unconcerned, then looked around.
“A gate? Sudden… a gate suddenly appeared, and a person?!” Chopper shouted.
“You’re Su Lin!” Luffy suddenly leapt up and hugged Su Lin: “Thank you! I’m eternally grateful!!”
“You gave me such a precious treasure—I’m truly thankful!” Luffy hugged Su Lin, awestruck—he knew how rare such a treasure was.
“Luffy! Let go!” Chopper snapped back and pounded Luffy’s back, signaling him to release Su Lin: “He can’t breathe!”
“Ah, sorry.”
“Cough! Cough! Huh—! Ha—!”
Su Lin never imagined his debut in another world would nearly strangle him to death by the Straw Hat kid.
What’s your physique, what’s mine?
Felt like his bones were falling apart—this guy’s strength was no joke.
“Wait… wait… a moment… I… need to breathe.”
“You’re something else.”
After two minutes, Su Lin straightened his clothes and regained his composure.
Weary, he took a cup of water from Chopper, drank a sip: “Let me introduce myself properly—I’m Su Lin, your groupmate.”
“I’m Chopper.”
Though Chopper didn’t know what a “groupmate” meant.
“I’m Monkey D. Luffy, the man who will become Pirate King.” Luffy held up his straw hat.
“Luffy, could you demonstrate your Gum-Gum Fruit ability?”
Su Lin needed to confirm he could truly replicate the Pirate World’s abilities—if successful, he’d head straight to the Marineford War, help Luffy fulfill his wish, and collect some points.
If he couldn’t replicate it, he’d have to let the Straw Hat kid go alone—though he’d taken some gear from the group, Su Lin didn’t want to take unnecessary risks.
With the gear from the group, he could still play the role of a holy man before the public.
“Huh? Like this?” Luffy stretched his arm, snatching a skewer of grilled meat from a distant stall: “Want some?”
Instantly, Su Lin’s mind was filled with towering bookshelves.
A single book appeared on one shelf.
“Gum-Gum Form”
Su Lin stepped forward, took the book, and opened it.
“I seem to understand everything.”
Impossible to describe in words—when the book titled “Gum-Gum Form” opened, it shattered into light particles, merging into Su Lin’s flesh and spirit, understood and learned instantly.
Swish—
Su Lin’s arm suddenly stretched like Luffy’s, snatching another item from a different stall.
Chopper’s eyes bulged: “Eh!!! Gum-Gum Fruit?!”
Even Luffy stared in disbelief at Su Lin: “Same ability as mine?”
“Wait.” Su Lin felt something was off: “Gum-Gum Pistol.”
Mimicking how he’d seen in anime, Su Lin threw his arm—plop—it landed on the ground.
“No proficiency.”
