Chapter 312
Blue Star Blue Star: wx
Ten thousand li of azure sky, washed clean, dotted with a few white clouds.
Spire piercing the clouds, majestic, covered in countless intricately carved patterns and motifs; colored stained-glass windows cast mysterious light and shadow through the sun, evoking an otherworldly beauty.
This church exists high above ten thousand li, not whole or glorious but ruined and broken; moss grows among the ruins, yet the religious atmosphere remains undiminished, offering a unique beauty enhanced by the surrounding auxiliary structures.
Here, like the ending of an epic tale, a lone wall stands, and a girl with silver-white hair sits on steps built of gray-white stone, listlessly watching the miniature city below.
A black giant guardian stands behind the girl, silent, gazing up at the clouds, lost in some memory.
Time passed, second by second.
"Sorry, did you wait long?" Weigong Shilang stepped out silently beside her, having shed his Daoist Priest robes and returned to his usual sportswear, backpack slung over his shoulder; he smiled helplessly at the girl.
"What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"I still think you look more handsome with long hair," Dada Liya withdrew her gaze and gently patted the stone step beside her.
"Do I?" Weigong Shilang sat down, understanding her meaning.
This was the abandoned floating island where the movie had been filmed; originally, Dada Liya had said she wanted to visit the Daoist gathering again, but Weigong Shilang hadn't expected her to wait here for him.
"Come closer," Dada Liya said.
Weigong Shilang shifted slightly to the side.
"Closer," Dada Liya said again: "Never mind, just stay like that, Shilang."
She leaned in proactively toward Weigong Shilang, resting her head against his right arm.
Behind them, Heracles smiled faintly, then turned and became ethereal, ascending to the Water Mirror Peak higher in the sky.
Weigong Shilang's heartbeat quickened slightly, yet he remained calm, gazing at the otherworldly city beneath the azure sky—Daoist Priests flying on swords, using teleportation arts, dragons spreading wings, deities traveling.
"You're so slow. In the game, you'd have already reached the home run with other heroines in a few days, but with me, you're not even making progress—you're stuck on the progress bar." Dada Liya sighed, exasperated: "Did you practice the celibacy technique or something?"
"What nonsense are you talking?" Weigong Shilang's face flushed slightly as he retorted: "Games and reality are completely different! You see, even anime doesn't have those scenes—those are probably just forced additions by developers for sales."
In truth, Weigong Shilang had never realized the game was an adult-only title, and when Dada Liya dragged him into playing it, he'd done so purely out of curiosity.
"Ah, whatever you say, Shilang," Dada Liya brushed a strand of hair tousled by the high-altitude wind—it surged wildly like a white tidal wave, fluttering.
"Shilang, back then—"
"Why did you tell only me this secret? Compared to me, Lin and Saber should have been the ones to know first, right?"
Amid the summer's radiant light, a cool breeze brushed repeatedly, resonating with her agitated heart, her voice gradually fading.
"Families don't keep secrets," Weigong Shilang smiled softly: "I never saw you as an enemy."
"Is that so?" Dada Liya laughed lightly: "That's so typical of you, Shilang."
Weigong Shilang sighed: "What do you mean, 'typical of me'?"
Dada Liya pressed her body tightly against Weigong Shilang, holding him firmly: "Actually, I thought it'd be fine to just stay in another world—as long as I could keep living like this with you."
Before she finished, she released him, brushed dust off her dress, and stood up: "But this selfish mindset is clearly wrong."
"If I'm too greedy and selfish, I'll end up making you hate me."
Dada Liya smiled faintly, stepping lightly backward two paces.
"Really, it's not like we can't come back," Weigong Shilang rose from the steps, watching the girl who seemed to leap lightly before the church's ruins, dancing like a spirit.
"After the Holy Grail War ends, if you want to visit another world, I'll take you—I don't know if opportunities like the Simulation Universe will come again, or if they'll ever be held again."
He scratched his head, thinking Dada Liya was having too much fun and didn't want to go home.
"You're right," Dada Liya smiled, her ruby eyes holding unspoken thoughts, her slightly askew bangs swaying with her movements.
"So, Shilang, which route are you planning to take when you return? Fate, UBW, or HF? I don't mind any except the one-line route."
"Actually, if Big Brother wants to take the Fantasy Carnival route, I fully support you—what's that phrase on the internet again?"
"I remember: Only the strong deserve beauty! Let's just build a huge crystal harem!"
Weigong Shilang sighed helplessly, stepped forward, and ruffled Dada Liya's hair, then increased the force to mess up her hairstyle as punishment.
"Don't say weird stuff like that, Liya. Do you really want me to become a scumbag?" Weigong Shilang thought that if such a route truly existed, the version of himself in that world should listen to Su Lin's Celestial Sound Album—maybe it'd help him reform and rebuild his values.
"Eww, don't treat me like a child!" Dada Liya swatted his hand away, annoyed, then tidied herself and resumed her elegant posture: "I'm serious—I want to know which route you'll take when you return. After all, it's clear you have no intention of choosing my route."
"I know, but there's nothing I can do—I've killed you so many times in the game… Now, you should be able to give everyone a happy ending."
Dada Liya turned and walked forward, her hands moving slightly.
"You really underestimate me."
Weigong Shilang's lips curled into a smile; suddenly, he sprinted a few steps and from behind, swept Dada Liya into his arms in a princess carry.
"Eh?!" Dada Liya was startled by his sudden action, momentarily flustered: "Shilang?! This is weird—put me down!"
"Now you're shy? Seriously, don't treat me like a wooden doll!" Weigong Shilang looked at the girl in his arms; every time he returned home after work, she teased him—but whenever she showed even a hint of vulnerability, his anger vanished. In the end, he simply couldn't stay mad at this girl:
"Other Parallel Worlds have nothing to do with me. And you like me, right? Whether from your character setup or anything else."
"If you like me, stop testing me with these questions—if one day I take you seriously, what will you do?"
"Eh?! Like, like what?!" Dada Liya's face turned bright red; Weigong Shilang's honesty and directness caught her off guard—when it came to saying those words aloud, she became incoherent.
Thanks to having played FHA during idle moments, seeing her own in-game self shatter this little demon girl's psychological defenses with the same question, he was now able to handle this situation.
Weigong Shilang held Dada Liya, and beneath his feet appeared a flying sword, lifting both of them toward the Water Mirror Peak.
"There's no need to ask which route to take," Weigong Shilang said softly to the girl in his arms:
"Whether in life or love—"
"I'm not someone with extraordinary talent."
"Even in my own world, compared to the legendary figures who shaped human history, I'm almost ordinary."
As Weigong Shilang spoke, memories surfaced in his mind—the so-called "fate" he had once seen, presented to him in text or other forms.
To say he'd never thought about how to choose his future would be a lie.
He had thought about it, agonized over it, countless times—how to choose, how to create the future he wanted to see.
Whether choosing the Weigong Shilang who embraces "Justice," or the Weigong Shilang who abandons his ideal and returns to "humanity," or the self who follows Saber to Avalon
Their choices and paths are not wrong.
Then what of him? What should he do, having known everything in advance?
Long ago, this question had always lurked deep within himself; every different future, every different choice, was a path forged with all his might by an individual named "Weigong Shilang."
The will of those "Weigong Shilangs" was firmer than his own now; Weigong Shilang did not know how many stories written by others in texts or games could align with reality, but one phrase he believed was utterly correct
——Weigong Shilang would never regret his choices!
Constant projection, constant forging, constant flight
His busy life left him almost no time to think of anything else; at first, he used this very lifestyle to escape the problems destined to confront him.
Yet during this time, he sometimes trained in Han Li's world or others'; the Ye Zhetian Guild was not open every day, and whenever he had a moment of leisure, he would ponder his future.
A simple question, yet he, whose own future had undergone massive change, felt trapped in a dead end with no way out.
Many things influenced him: whether the online friends he encountered or the other worlds he saw during this journey.
Until he met Old Lu, and saw Lu Mingfei make his own choice within the destined future; after that departure, something new gradually grew within him.
Weigong Shilang looked up at the Water Mirror Peak training ground ahead, a look of relief on his face as he said: "But my life is not some narrative text—I want to rewrite this course."
Weigong Shilang is a clumsy imitator, yet even so, he felt his life should not merely be imitation, nor could it ever be someone else's copy.
Since he had been given this once-in-a-millennium chance, a little greediness should be acceptable, shouldn't it?
Completely, he would try to realize his own Justice; if the seat called "happiness" is limited, then he would use his own strength to increase it, to forge it!
Even if he cannot do it now, his future self should have the chance.
To make the world he inhabits free from suffering and tragedy.
"I won't deliberately avoid them, nor will I deliberately follow the known endings—but one thing remains unchanged: my promise to you."
Unless the individual Weigong Shilang perishes, his Dao extinguished and soul erased, as long as he can still fight, he will never let anyone harm this girl.
"Though I've said it before, I want to ask again."
"Dada Liya, will you walk with me to the very end? No matter what, we are family—that will never change."
Dada Liya nearly buried her face in her clothes; all other words were cast aside, only the phrase "walk with me to the very end" echoed in her mind.
Her voice was as faint as a mosquito's hum: "Yes."
Weigong Shilang smiled slightly, set the girl down on the ground, and Heracles' spirit followed behind; the three walked toward the azure portal.
Dada Liya's face was flushed, still not recovered from Weigong Shilang's reply; she stole a glance at his hand, about to extend her own, then remembered something and pulled it back, staring at the world ahead.
Swish—
Weigong Shilang reached out and clasped her hand tightly.
Like a whale to the sea, like a bird to the forest, they marched toward the fated destiny—no retreat, no need to retreat!
"Scum."
"You kissed a minor and publicly posted evidence in your room."
"Weigong, I've always misjudged you!"
Weigong Shilang stared at the poster in Yuan Bao Lin's hand, wishing he could instantly retreat to another world—this situation was practically a tribunal.
Dongting Lake wiped tears with a handkerchief; Yuan Bao Lin sat in the main seat, behind her a red-clad man with a shaved head brimming with murderous intent; Saber sat to the right, eating dinner while observing Weigong Shilang and Dada Liya.
She spread the poster on the living room coffee table—it was unmistakably the moment Weigong Shilang lay in Dada Liya's arms as she kissed him during the film shoot.
"Please, Yuan Bao! Don't call the police!" Dongting Lake wiped her tears: "If you must call the police, arrest me too! I failed to raise Weigong properly!"
Only after a while did Yuan Bao Lin escort the anxious Dongting Lake out, repeatedly assuring her she would not call the police, until the woman finally agreed to leave.
Yuan Bao Lin closed the living room door, glanced casually at the photo of the ancient-style robe, and asked: "So, Weigong, you skipped class to do this?"
In the photo, Weigong Shilang stood with sword in hand, one hand gripping a snow-white blade, his robes stained red with blood under a downpour.
Quite handsome.
