Chapter 382
Blue Star, Blue Star
"Saber," Weigong Shilang hesitated, then asked: "Aren't you going to ask me anything?"
In the Weigong mansion of the Parallel World, its original owner had been "invited" by Su Lin to the Dimensional Corridor; fortunately, there were still plenty of ingredients and seasonings left in the fridge.
He made a simple Western meal and some Chinese dishes, paired with a vegetable salad—tonight's meal was relatively generous.
"Ask you what… gurgle." Saber bit his chopsticks, slightly puzzled:
"I don't have anything to ask you, Weigong Shilang. Oh, by the way—the green pepper with pork tonight, the meat isn't the usual kind, is it? What is it? The texture is excellent; after eating it, I felt a temporary defensive layer form on my body."
"That's made from Northern Wasteland Iron Ox meat… No, that's not what I meant." Weigong Shilang suddenly realized he wasn't talking about the food and corrected himself:
"I mean—about everything we're doing now, and you standing with us… is that really okay?"
"Mmm, of course it's fine." Saber nodded, swallowed the last bite from his bowl, took a breath, and said:
"Gurgle."
"I am Shilang's Servant, so naturally I stand by Shilang, no matter who the enemy is."
"Besides, didn't we swear an oath when we formed the contract? Your will is the direction of my sword."
Ding—
"I see." Weigong Shilang smiled, stood up, and carried the freshly cooked rice from the rice cooker to the table.
Although he no longer needed to worry about mana, Saber's own stats, boosted by various blessings, had already reached a terrifying level—yet he never skipped his five daily meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, midnight snack).
Watching Saber eat for the joy of food gave Weigong Shilang more satisfaction than seeing him eat merely to replenish mana.
"Ah, so that's what Shilang meant?" Saber ladled a full bowl of rice and poured the broth from the Buddha Jumps Over the Wall onto it:
"Because you've become so strong now, you no longer need my power."
"That's not it at all!" Weigong Shilang quickly explained: "Saber has always been helping me, so…"
He didn't finish his sentence—he saw the golden-haired knight's lips curled in a clear smile.
"Saber, have you learned to joke now?"
"How rude. I'm not some ancient relic. Even if people say I don't understand human hearts, constantly interacting with players and modern knowledge has taught me plenty."
Hopefully not corrupted by those insane, self-indulgent players
But this Saber seemed a little happier than before.
"Another bowl." Saber smiled.
"Don't worry, Shilang—you asked before, didn't you? I chose to stand here of my own free will."
"And"
"You are my scabbard."
"I understand." Weigong Shilang smiled. "Sorry for asking such a question again."
"It's fine. It seems Altria from the Fate route's ending once said in that city's buffet restaurant—your strength in observation but weakness in understanding is your trademark." Saber set down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth, and said:
"Sometimes you're just as blunt as I am. Looks like no matter how long you've lived in other worlds, your dullness never changes."
Weigong Shilang awkwardly cleared the table and carried the dishes to the kitchen sink.
The buffet restaurant in that Fate route city? When did that happen?
Weigong Shilang was about to ask, when he noticed magical energy forming words on the ceiling, the sink, the tatami mats—all corners—repeating the same phrase:
This is my route qaq! This is my route qaq! This is my route qaq!
"Dada Liya," Weigong Shilang forced a smile. "Thank you for your efforts with the Holy Grail."
"Don't worry, Illyasviel," Saber said seriously instead:
"I can sense they have no malice toward this world. I trust my judgment—your two lives… no."
"Regardless of whether it's just a movie! I will protect you both!"
Does this person still believe it's real?!
'Why?!' For an instant, both Weigong Shilang and Illyasviel froze, silent for a long while.
Once Saber decides something, it's hard to change.
In a way, that's also a strength.
Suddenly, Weigong Shilang looked out the window—the sky, once a bright moon, now displayed battlefield scenes across every world, and Su Lin, filled with both corruption and holiness, spoke words meant to be etched into human memory.
Wild Cthulhu-like creatures passing overhead seemed in agony, gradually sprouting holy wings; ordinary humans who looked without defense would go mad—the very things that could drive people insane now fell into Su Lin's hands with no chance of escape.
Was it because during the time he fused with his other self, Su Lin did something… or
Did Miss Kelaien say something?
"Saber, prepare for battle." After receiving the message, Weigong Shilang no longer pondered why Saber still believed in this nonsense.
After casting an automatic cleaning spell developed by Bai Zunzhe, he walked out the door with Saber.
The moment he slid open the door—
"You're late!" Tohsaka Rin stood beneath the massive Holy Grail filled with aether, brushed her ponytail off her right shoulder, and said:
"Did you take a detour into Saber's heroine route and start courting her? If so, that white-haired brat's gonna cry like a defeated dog."
Rin, I'll kill you! Magical text formed in the air.
"Tohsaka? And Sakura?" Weigong Shilang blinked. "How did you get here?"
He remembered he hadn't invited them—but after opening the gate to the Weigong mansion, he found them already inside this worldline's underground cavern.
"Don't misunderstand—we didn't come here to help you," Tohsaka Rin crossed her arms.
"After watching that terrifyingly long movie, to avoid getting dragged into the chaos of multiple runaway Black Sakura, the Parallel World brats fighting over your body parts, and the family ethics drama in your house…"
"In short, I took Sakura and ran away from that hell."
Sakura immediately puffed out her cheeks: "It was those who got the older sister's victory pose that started the conflict—Shi Chen and Mom got dragged into it!"
"Sakura!" Tohsaka Rin exclaimed urgently:
"Those things have nothing to do with me! I don't even recognize those women as myself—someone who mocks their own self is clearly insane, but now isn't the time to talk about this!"
A chill ran down Weigong Shilang's back, every hair on his body standing on end; he felt as if the overwhelming volume of information had already detonated like a bomb.
I know this isn't the time to bring this up, but don't you want to see what exactly is being said?!
"Forget it," Weigong Shilang no longer cared to delve into this issue. "Have you two also put on the player helmets? Then we don't have to worry about safety."
Tohsaka Rin smiled:
"Don't look down on us—we've trained hard during this time, and with our levels, skills, and equipment, we can at least lend some help. I might even be stronger than Archer now."
"Right, Archer?"
After Tohsaka Rin finished speaking, there was no response.
She turned to the side and called out blankly: "Archer."
No one was there.
She remembered clearly bringing him back from the Ye Zhetian Trading Company's forge workshop, and acquiring plenty of resources.
Suddenly, she felt a searing heat on the back of her right hand, and looked down.
The last remaining Command Seal, like a crimson cherry blossom corroded by time, slowly scattered into the air.
In Tohsaka Rin's stunned gaze, Weigong Shilang turned toward a distant direction; an abrupt sword intent surged forth, its sword-gang wind brushing past his fingertips.
"So it's this moment? Perfect."
The dome of the Great Void shattered; the original sky was replaced by countless intertwined spectral weapons of sword qi, dim and bright, layered and overlapping, blotting out sun and moon.
"Sorry, Rin—I'll handle the battle here."
Tohsaka Rin instinctively turned back and saw:
A man clad in red sacred shroud stood atop the cliff, gazing downward, holding two black-and-white short swords; endless sword qi wrapped around a torrent of steel, cascading like a waterfall plunging from heaven.
"Archer!" Tohsaka Rin exhaled in relief, but immediately a bad premonition rose in her heart: "What are you doing up there?!"
"It's fine, Tohsaka—I'll handle this." Weigong Shilang patted Tohsaka Rin's shoulder, stepped aside to stand before her, and smiled up at the towering Archer:
"He's the type who betrays you the moment you stop paying attention."
He drew a pitch-black longsword from empty air; divine power surged from his life spring, and the hazy, moon-and-cloud-like swordlight transformed into countless solid blades that collided with the waterfall.
Bai Mang pierced the heavens, illuminating the sea of clouds; the dome of heaven itself was sliced and torn apart. Had the ground not already raised its pre-prepared defense infused with Zhongli's divine power, that single strike alone would have reduced all of Fuyuki to rubble.
"I've heard of spirit-summoning arts that can call forth past lives, and some magicians have learned skills from their former incarnations through such methods."
As dust and smoke gradually cleared, Weigong Shilang's voice rang out:
"But I've never heard of a spirit learning this life's skills in reverse."
He gazed at the white-haired man standing in the void beneath the newly reappeared moon, a smile on his lips.
"That was supposed to be my line—and I'm hardly your past life," the Heroic Spirit Weigong Shilang scoffed, then spun his sword in a flourish:
"Yet this power truly came from you. How absurd—because they recognized the value of the individual Weigong Shilang, the annoying bastards on the Heroic Spirit Throne have only grown more numerous."
"Now, no matter how many times you return to the past, you can no longer achieve your twisted existence by killing Weigong Shilang."
"Still, I have no right to say that."
"You're truly persistent." Weigong Shilang scanned the surroundings and asked: "Are you alone?"
Boom—!
As the sound of gunfire rang out, Saber had already blocked before Weigong Shilang; iron filings kept shattering against Avalon's defense, and when they rebounded, a sword qi storm several kilometers wide spiraled outward, piercing through mountains.
Bai Mang flashed—a katana, still glowing red-hot as if freshly forged and uncooled, split it cleanly in two.
Far, far away, Weigong Alter and the black-skinned, white-haired Senjumuramasa hovered in the sky.
"I am the Guardian bound to the Counterforce," the Heroic Spirit Weigong Shilang said coldly:
"If you could control it, you shouldn't have let us obtain this technique, or the power of other worlds."
"Even if we cannot reach the level of that Creator, under the Counterforce's extrapolation and enhancement, the Heroic Spirit Emiya was granted power surpassing the endpoint of his own story—even surpassing his form when equipped with the Divine Relics of the Moon Sea."
Weigong Shilang nodded, showing no emotion at the words: "Are you three the only ones?"
"You mean those guys from the Servant Universe? They'll be arriving here soon," the Heroic Spirit Weigong Shilang reversed his twin blades in his grip:
"Hope you can hold out until then—otherwise, we'll have to come through here to erase Illyasviel."
"No, what I mean is," Weigong Shilang paused, then continued:
"Are you three the only Guardians who possess the element of Weigong Shilang?"
The Heroic Spirit Weigong Shilang frowned: "What do you mean?"
"Saber, Tohsaka, Sakura—I'll leave the rest to you and the others." Weigong Shilang slowly rose from the ground; the phenomenon of the Sword World burned the world, instantly reaching beyond the horizon:
"One of the conditions of my pact with the Akashic Records"
"Is to duel every Heroic Spirit Weigong Shilang who has ever existed—to forge a sword against them all!"
Yes, though their power had briefly stunned him, their appearance was no surprise to Weigong Shilang.
The timing made sense—after all, the Akashic Records, tied to the Root, would never stand idly by; betting on both sides was the correct choice.
"If I lose, I become a Guardian, right?" Weigong Shilang pulled out a black helmet, glanced at the three Emiyas, and tossed it aside with a grin:
"No matter the boss, they're always eager to get their employees on the job."
"Sorry, but I already have two bosses on my head—this Guardian job might have to be postponed."
The Heroic Spirit Weigong Shilang froze. "What did you say?"
And within the historical mist of this timeline:
"After many years, I became a Guardian of the Akashic Records."
"Yet the ember-like doubt in my heart never faded."
"The Heroic Spirit Weigong Shilang should not have become a Guardian—it should have been the monster, Weigong Jianying."
"Then the only conclusion possible is this:"
Su Lin, carrying the camera within the historical fissure, said: "The Heroic Spirit Weigong should be a being that serves Weigong Shilang."
Kleen glanced at him with a peculiar expression.
"What's wrong with you?" Kleen asked.
"Who knows?" Su Lin grabbed a handful of popcorn from Kleen's hand and shoved it into his mouth. "I'm just filming a love story in Fuyuki. I never expected history to replay here."
The Type-Moon arc begins with the story of Weigong Shilang, and let it end with the story of Weigong Shilang…
Probably within four chapters.
