Chapter 430: The Fallen God
Scorching fire beasts continuously tore at surrounding objects, searing heat waves raged uncontrollably, matter turned black from the flames, vehicles became cages, and wails filled the air.
Excruciating pain, burning, tearing
Li Huowang did not know why he was still conscious, nor why, in this fleeting instant, he felt the sensitivity only attainable after Cangqiang ascended—dozens of times more pain transmitted from every neuron to his brain.
Even the human body's protective mechanisms could not render him unconscious.
Flames erupted from his throat, his eyes long gone, leaving only his burning body fused to the seat.
Nana Yang Na
Li Huowang's perception still persisted; he felt the vehicle behind him had been overturned by a massive shockwave.
"Qingwanglai!!!"
Li Huowang let out a roar not of a human, yet it did no good, until—
A nearby ruin burst forth with supreme radiance; a noble purple robe wrapped a figure containing all colors of the world, soaring into the sky like a sun.
Light bathed the earth; all things fell still.
An ineffable transformation began converging across multiple dimensions—touch, smell, hearing, spiritual sense—and in cycles of birth and death, Li Huowang's consciousness, now endowed with a new sense, twisted; all his perceptions merged together.
The world began to rise.
In an eternal span of time, Li Huowang saw that 'Existence' lift its head; countless powers emerged from darkness, becoming light that illuminated the void.
Before Him, not only could he not move, but even his thoughts grew increasingly sluggish.
Not sluggish
Li Huowang saw a translucent-cloaked silhouette overlap with that Existence; infinite information surged from Him—merely 'seeing' granted full understanding.
Madness and chaos as foundational logic, the primordial light of creation, the original essence of all phenomena
Threefold creation, layered and intertwined, the initial secret of contradiction
Those derived forbidden laws should not have existed in this world, yet something fused them all into one, granting them existence and the potential to grow.
'I can't look anymore!'
Li Huowang tried to stop it, but as water naturally flows from high to low, those informations flowed into Li Huowang's body, this 'Existence'.
These streams told Li Huowang everything they passed over—the landscapes they saw, all microorganisms within them—regardless of whether he could accept or digest them.
Finally, his consciousness drifted with the current, and he saw a colossal giant standing within seven-colored black liquid, beneath which the liquid pulsed as if alive, blocking a crack.
Fear
The first sensation Li Huowang felt upon seeing the giant was boundless fear, followed immediately by related information.
Fear and despair were the very substance of His being; He is Fusengtian?!
Fear Confused Siming, Fusengtian.
The name 'Fusengtian' flashed through Li Huowang's mind; astonished, he sensed the giant struggling fiercely, resisting something.
Behind Him, a colossal tree, resembling a rotting rainbow, drove its roots into the void; the seven-colored black liquid poured from those roots, granting Fusengtian a foothold.
Previously, upon learning the name 'Fusengtian', he would instantly be affected, his flesh and blood betraying him—but now, the other clearly had no time to 'notice' him?
The chaotic giant and the vast dim seven-colored liquid spread tian dao laws for corruption, yet gradually, these laws diffused and transformed into another kind of tian dao law—stable, calming, guiding things toward serenity.
Tian Dao has fifty laws; Confused Siming holds forty-three; the remaining seven drift beyond Tian.
Neither the tian dao born from Fusengtian nor the new tian dao influenced by it was any of the original laws of Da Nuo.
Born from fear, yet reversed by an unknown force into a new tian dao.
Reversal
When the concept of 'reversal' arose in Li Huowang's mind, he discovered Qingwanglai had somehow drifted beside him, transformed into a chain forged from secret flesh and blood, pulling him downward.
Strange things happened: as if a drowning man broke the ocean's surface, Li Huowang felt he could once again control his body, freed from the ocean of knowledge, his entire being light and easy—all the information he had just understood began to vanish.
'The untainted wild beauty.' Li Huowang suddenly understood the meaning of that phrase.
But this wasn't any ocean!?!
Li Huowang saw that the Bai Yu Jing he was in resembled an egg, with a long crack running across its surface.
And Fusengtian, clinging to the egg's crack, was now being gradually enveloped from within by a 'distorted-to-normal, normal-to-distorted' strange figure; He blocked the crack, preventing whatever was inside from escaping.
'Brother Su...' Li Huowang was uncertain, for now he saw this figure and had not gone mad.
Soon, he understood why: the secret chain dragging him had not loosened, and some hidden truths flooded into Li Huowang's mind.
'Su Tianfu is Su Lin! His name comes from Fusengtian!!!'
Li Huowang suddenly understood why Su Lin had changed his name.
'Did Fusengtian give his name to Su Lin?!'
Li Huowang recalled the twisted tree resembling a rotting rainbow, which continuously poured its tian dao into that ocean, achieving a delicate balance with it to secure its foothold.
That imprisoned youth was not Yu'er Shen at all!
He was Fusengtian!
Just as Qingwanglai, through Zhuge Yuan, stole the 'Wang' from Li Huowang's name—which corresponded to Li Huowang's own Qingxing Tian Dao—
Fu and Tian were taken by Su Lin, reversed into their opposite side, leaving him only 'Sheng'—remaining life.
'Su Tianfu is such a product.'
Cold water splashed on Li Huowang's face, making his hair damp.
Seeing his hollow, bewildered eyes gradually regain clarity, Qingwanglai nodded and placed the glass cup beside him.
'Looks like you've recovered.' Qingwanglai handed Li Huowang a white porcelain plate holding toast, fried eggs, bacon, and several slices of Harbin red sausage. 'Brother Li, it's already eight in the morning. Time for breakfast.'
His voice carried concern, his tone nearly identical to Zhuge Yuan's—but Li Huowang knew the flesh beneath Qingwanglai was entirely different from Zhuge Yuan's.
'Little Li, now you understand how powerful the Centaur aliens are!' Qian Fu said, still shaken:
'No matter what assassination plan we devise, reality's modifier always alters reality. Look—even the Leo aliens' technology has been crushed!'
The car accident yesterday was as if it never happened; aside from Li Huowang's lingering memories confirming the shift in timeline, even news searches found no report of the oil tanker explosion.
He vaguely remembered that yesterday Zhao Lei had chatted happily with Su Tianfu the whole way and saw them off to this Peace Hotel, where he now sat in the suite booked by Qing Wanglai.
Zhao Lei, wearing a monocle, grinned and handed Li Huowang a Mao Jin, his face utterly devoid of the earlier aggrieved and troubled expression.
Li Huowang glanced at Zhao Lei and asked: "Did your Xin Pan choose the monocle?"
"Xin Pan? What does that mean?" Zhao Lei adjusted his monocle on his right eye socket and laughed.
"I picked up the monocle because I love the Bell Angel from Su Tianfu's writings. Too bad the protagonist Kleine never accepted Amon's terms—otherwise he could've enjoyed a shameless, mysterious life with the heroine Su Xi."
"Even though you're enemies, if you get the chance, please ask Su Tianfu for an autograph. It might become a rare collectible."
"Also, does he have another version of the work?"
Fine.
Li Huowang now roughly understood what Amon was after.
The only remaining Zuowang Dao practitioner in all of Daliang is Amon. Doumu has no choice but to choose Amon as her past self—her Xin Pan.
This means Amon is destined to become Doumu Yuanzun on some future day.
He really did find a way.
Or rather, this guy probably learned the relationship between Siming and Xin Pan the moment he parasitized the first Zuowang Dao practitioner. That's why he's been working so hard lately—he's been planning this all along.
"You should now understand what kind of being we're facing."
Qing Wanglai poured hot water into his thermos and said: "I've never seen anything so terrifying. You've been deceived by him, Li Huowang."
Li Huowang stayed silent. He wanted to say: You've been deceived by the inner nature of my Su Ge—he's actually a good person.
But he couldn't bring himself to say it.
He guessed they'd label him as contaminated if he did.
"In Shi Shi, observe perception as the object sought—like the eternal universe; yet without its proper method, principle remains unseen." Qing Wanglai sipped his hot water, gazing out the window at the morning street scene, speaking slowly.
"You have no idea what calamity you brought back. The enemy we faced before was fear."
"It's absurd—I laugh just thinking about saying this, but I can't laugh."
Fear of the Great Siming fearing another being—this joke is cold.
"You've seen the situation. Only you acting directly will work." Ba Nanxu spun his Swiss Army knife. "Everything we do is useless—even staying near him only weakens his influence."
"Me staying near him weakens his influence?!" Li Huowang was surprised.
He didn't know what conditions were like in the modern world's Bai Yu Jing. Why had so many Siming been powerless against Su Tianfu? But he'd never heard before that he himself could weaken Su Tianfu's power.
"That's your uniqueness. That's why we won't question why you brought them in—if you awaken in time, we still have a chance." Qing Wanglai's tone carried counsel. "The projection of Su Tianfu should correspond to the primordial God described in the Bible—haven't you noticed that?"
"His true face differs from the Bible's description of this projection world. In essence, corruption, distortion, consumption, pollution—these negative traits are his true nature."
"We should be grateful he's currently focused on another target. Otherwise, we'd likely have fallen like Wu Qi and Zhao Shuangdian—become traitors to this world."
Li Huowang's expression turned strange. He muttered quietly: "Fallen God."
To his surprise, Qing Wanglai adjusted his glasses and nodded at Li Huowang: "Appropriate. 'Fallen God' suits him better."
"That cult leader fits the name," added Ba Nanxu. "Since he never laid a hand on Shuangdian and's just a shut-in, we might as well call him that—it's kinda cool."
Dammit.
Li Huowang shivered, then asked Qing Wanglai about Meng Zhending: "What are you planning to do about Meng Zhending's Yuan Huang?"
Hearing Li Huowang's question, Qing Wanglai smiled and pointed to the breakfast before him.
"The ancients said: eat without speaking, sleep without talking. Chewing while speaking leads to poor digestion and risks biting your tongue or choking."
"If you want to know, we'll talk after you finish eating."
Qing Wanglai's attitude was odd. Li Huowang was suspicious, but he quickly finished his breakfast.
Yet Qing Wanglai still sat on the sofa watching morning news, occasionally checking his phone—making Li Huowang even more uncertain of his true intentions.
If I have to act against Su Tianfu today, I'll just make up an excuse to delay it.
In the suite's living room, apart from Chen Hongyu still calling room service for more food, most others had already eaten their fill.
"Why order so much? You can't even finish it yourself," Qian Fu patted his belly and asked.
Chen Hongyu replied: "Leftovers get packed. That way I can skip a few more days of rummaging through trash."
"Come with me." Qing Wanglai opened his room door and gestured for Li Huowang to enter.
Li Huowang pushed aside the idle thought that someone in the group might one day become a rotting Siming in his own universe, gripped the dagger from another world, stepped inside, and closed the door.
"Pfft. Two men sneaking off alone together." Ba Nanxu sneered. "Who cares who's 1 or 0?"
Ba Chengqing crossed his legs and said: "Li Huowang's got a girlfriend."
Ba Nanxu rolled his eyes at his younger brother: "I'm not blind. But this behavior clearly shows he doesn't see us as part of the same side."
Yet no one paid attention to Ba Nanxu's words. Everyone continued with their own tasks.
Except Zhao Lei, who pulled several monocles from his pocket and smiled at the others still in the living room: "Here, souvenirs for you."
Qian Fu picked one up, flipped it twice, and was about to put it on his face—when his second personality suddenly appeared. "Where am I?! Who tied me up?!"
The monocle fell to the floor and was stomped on by the panicked man.
Zhao Lei stared at the broken monocle, a flicker of regret in his eyes.
